Lets say, delicate...

The camera was nice for the month it worked....I got it for my graduation right before college and it never even made it to school. I went to an outdoor concert and was taking pictures when it started to drizzle. I put it in my purse immediately. It could not have gotten that wet, yet it began to act funky later that evening, the buttons were all doing different things than they were supposed to. For a while it only tuned on when it was plugged in and you hit the on button about five times, eventually it wouldn't turn on anymore. Because it was considered water damage the warranty wouldn't cover it and I'm out a camera. The screen was great and the pictures it did manage to take were ok, but sometimes turned out pixely, not what I would have expected even from a 5.1 megapixel camera.

Unless you are planning to have this camera encased in magical protective gear forever, I would avoid it.

A great portable camera!

My wife wanted a small camera that she could take with her anywhere and this is it! She wanted a camera that was easy to use, take great pictures and would easily fit in her purse. It has a large LCD on the back that is easy to see, you don't have to worry about hand shake and it takes great pictures!

Fine camera, horrible compatibility

I've had this camera for a few years now and I like it for it's picture taking ability overall. However, the compatibility, or non-compatibility I should say, makes me crazy. It takes an xD card which is not compatible with the standard SD card reader that is built in to my computer or my portable card reader that accepts 6 formats, but not xD. This also means that if I have a problem with my card or want to share pictures with friends, I cant because everyone else is using SD cards. Also, the transfer cable is not a standard USB cable that most cameras use. It looks like one but the part that plugs into the camera is just a little more square than standard. So I always get it mixed up with all my other standard cables and end up loosing it.

If you plan to use this camera in isolation and are not concerned with the incompatibility of the card and the cable, then the camera is great. However, if you want a camera that allows flexibility in taking, transferring, and sharing pictures, I recommend getting camera more standard.

As a side note, I am also not happy with Fujifilm's contact us on the their website. They run you in circles and never actually give you an email address to make comments. So that is another x against them...

Good while it lasted...not real durable

Got this about a year and a half ago...for about $130 I think. I would definitely NOT pay the current price.

Pros:
-It took pretty good photos off the bat.
-I like the speed between shots--it's pretty fast, great for taking pics of my toddler.
-Decent in low light, not awesome
-big screen

Cons:
-durability is fairly non-existent. I suppose this can be assumed for most of these small cameras, I'm not super careful, but not like I'm throwing it around either. It fell about 10 months after I bought it--we were trying to take a photo with the timer...it landed on the open lens and shifted it. We were able to put it back...but this has happened probably twice more...and since then, it increasingly has problems focusing, etc.
-toggle for zooming broke about a year ago--just randomly, not through an obvious drop or anything. It still 'works' but it's like hanging on by a thread, so to zoom you have to kind of hold it in. For what I paid for it, I didn't want to pay to have it fixed. It broke when it was probably still under warranty, but the only way to have them fix it was to mail it in and be without a camera for a long time.
-battery...it started out fine, I could go days or through a ton of photos in one day without having to plug it in. Now--maybe 100-150 shots, if that, or 30 minutes of shooting...it's dead. Really annoying, I have to carry the charger everywhere, or plan on not taking a lot of photos.

great for 1st timers

as my first digital camera it was amazing. id recommend it for anyone as a first camera. it lasted thru quite a few drops (i can be clumsy @ times), and took great pictures overall. i also used it to take pictures of pictures (my quick way of digitizing older 1980's & 90's printed pictures) and after a few tries i always got a clear shot. i also used at concerts and the zoom is surprisingly clear, as long as u steady the camera. the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion and the only reason im getting rid of it is cause im ready to upgrade. i gave it to another first-timer.

pros:
-clear colorful shots (incl. pictures of text, scenery, other pictures, etc)
-lost of functions to play with
-image editing from camera

cons:
-not good for dark lit places
-when shooting multiple simultaneous shots it sometimes stalls
-close-ups sometimes blurry
-no sound when shooting video
-flash is unusually bright

A little workhorse!

By far the best point & shoot camera. I use it for my online listings on Etsy. It takes fantastic macro shots...and action shots! I love it so much! The software program is easy to navigate, auto adjust solves all photo issues.
The only downside to photo software s I'd like to see a batch tool for resizing my web photos. Buy this camera, you'll be glad you did (believe me I've had some duds, this one isn't one of them).

Great Camera for General Use

Got a nice price on this camera, installed a 1 GB memory card, and am very happy with it! Helpful book explains nice-looking interface.

Questions & Answers Powered by Yahoo! Answers
Question : Charger for the Finepix F460
I cant find it anywhereI need the chargerFor my FujiFilm FinePix Model F460 camera..

Answer:
According to the user's manual (Link 1), page 7, you need the BC-40 charger for that camera, but it isn't very widely available. Jessop's has it available (Link 2), but it's a special order item, so it will take longer for it to get to you. Or else, if all else fails, call the accessory hotline (Link 3) to see if they have a different but compatible charger for you.

Question : Can I attatch a Camera to my Telescope
I would like to attacth my Fujifilm FinePix f460 to view through my Celestron PowerSeeker 60, is this possible If so then how do I go about doing itI'de like to make a kind of video journal which I can put onto DvD for future reference =)Thanks in advanceJon.

Answer:
Go onto he website for Meade and see if they have any camera adaptors that fit your telescope. You might want to also look into a motorized star tracking accessory so you can do longer exposures without getting trails from the Earth's rotation.
