Puss 'n Boots from Shrek She's so freakin cutehttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/willowsgoddess/Marcie_031209.jpg(She's for adoption in VT if anyone is from the area)Legit: For anyone who works in shelters, when you get puppies/kittens in, do you often put them into foster for a couple months for them to learn some manners instead of adopting them right out when they're 8 weeks old We just got two 7 week (ish) old Border Collie/Aussie mixes who were abandoned in a park and they're going to be put into foster until they're probably 3 or 4 months old. Is this common practice I had never heard of this before, but it actually makes sense.As an add, I was also wondering this. At what point does it become 'immoral' to abort a litter of cats/puppies. When will most vets not perform the surgeryI ask this because I discovered one of our intakes from two days ago is VERY pregnant. As in she'll probably have kittens in a few days.

She is adorableLegit: Some of the shelters will do foster homes for very young cats and dogs and ones with fresh surgeries. You have to take a course and they do, of course, background checks.I will be seeing my vet this morn with 3 cats and 1 dog due for shots.I will ask Dr. Howell when he will NOT abort.Get back with you.EDIT: I talked to my vet. The ONLY time he will abort puppies is when the b*tche's life is in danger. If the puppies are close to full term, he will preform a C section. He will NOT euthanize the puppies.He will also NOT spay a large breed female dog while she is in heat. He said there is too much blood and the dog's life willbe at risk. A small dog, he will consider.
