Question : Why does my computer shut off during reinstall
So I was having some problems with my computer and some of the programs - blue screens and so on so I decided to reinstall windows. Now, whenever I start the reinstall with my backup disk, it will go for 2-15 minutes (never beyond that) and then my computer will just shut off. I know the power cord is connected, so that shouldn't be the problem. What is happening Is it just getting too hot or is there an internal problem I have an Acer computer with Windows XP.Any thoughtsthanks
Answer:
There could be several reasons why your computer is shutting off after an interval between 2 to 15 minutes. You may have a bad power supply, you may need to replace the heatsink, your processor may be overheating which could be because of a lack of air flowing throughout the system.
