Question : How do I stop the color effects font in my message windows
I have gone into preferences and set all fonts to my desires, but every time I open an IM window and type , it goes right back to the color effects.
Answer:
Click on the "T"with the color pallete to show all options, then click on the color pallete and choose color effects. In that window, un check "always use color effects". That should do it.

oh oh pictures like that are really cool,i don't think you will be able to do that just using the software on your mac though you could have play in iphoto but i don't thinks it that advanceyou can definitely do it in photoshop i have experimented doing so, and it not that hard if you can use photoshopyou simply bring the image into photo shop duplicate the layer then make the background layer black and white by going to image, adjust, black and white you then cut out the element you want to stay colour using the lasso, magic wand, or quick selection tool (you could even use the rubber tool) the you will have the colour element in colour on top of the black and white back ground,you can get a 30 day trail of photoshop, from adobe site if you interestedfound a tutorial for how to do it in older versions of photoshophttp://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/paint_to_gray/index.htmlwell hope that helps best of luck
