Question : Good camera for low light
I need a new camera, I've had my eyes on the Canon IXUS 110 IS and the Panasonic LUMIX FS15. Apparently they're both good. But I need a camera that can take decent pictures indoors and in lower/ish light conditions. My current Kodak is terrible and pictures are noisy and grainy, even in light. I also need the camera to not be too big. My budget is about $325US/$400AU.Can anyone recommend a camera
Answer:
The best choice of the cameras you referenced would be the Lumix FS15. Why Because it has an f2.8 constant zoom. The Canon IXUS 110 IS is an f2.8-5.8 variable aperture zoom.An even better choice would be the Lumix DMC-LX3 which has an f2.0-2.8 lens. One f-stop (2.0 vs. 2.8) might not sound like much but it is the difference between shooting at ISO 800 at f2.8 1/60 sec. or shooting at ISO 400 at f2.0 1/60 sec. Since compact digicams are poor performers at higher ISO settings, shooting at ISO 400 will give you much better results than shooting at ISO 800.
