Question : How do I choose rechargeable batteries- what does 2300 mAh NIMH mean
I have Energizer rechargeable batteries but I need more and they are too expensive. So are 2300 mAh NIMH AA Rechargeable Batteries supposed to be good too or are 2700 mAh better even if the price of those I found is nearly double And what does mAh mean

Answer:
mAh is a rating of how much energy the batteries can hold (how big the gas tank is, to use a car analogy).mAh stands for milliamp hours. If the rating is 2700 mAh, then you can draw 100 milliamps for 27 hours, or 50 milliamps for 54 hours etc.So, a bigger number is better (but there might be some trade off to get the higher rating). In general, I go for the higher number, if the cost is the same.I have had good luck with a brand I found on ebay called Tenergy.NiMH describes the chemical make up of the battery (i.e., the kind of technology the battery is basted on). NiMH stands for Nickle Metal Hydride. To my ears, this is a new and improved technology over NiCad technology. NiCad stands for Nickle Cadmium.. NiCads are less user friendly and in my experience have a much shorter useful life. Lithium Ion is another technology...........

Question : how many hours should i charge my 2700 mAh rechargeable batteries
so i bought 2 new rechargeable 2700-milliAmpere double A (AA) batteries because i lost my 1800 mA ones.. and i already have a charger and the salesman told me that it's okay to use different batteries for a charger as long as you only charge similar amperes at a time.. my old 1800-mA batteries charge for 16 hours.. so how many hours should I charge these 2700-mA batteries :)PLEASE help i dont wanna overcharge them.. :(oh.. the batteries are on NiMh and so is the charger. :Di dunno about three hours.. that's a big difference.. :(

Answer:
24 hoursIf 1800 mAh batteries took 16 hours to charge, then 2700 mAh batteries will take significantly longer (assuming same charger used).I used the ratio to calculate:1800/2700 = 16/x0.6666 = 16/x0.666*x = 16x = 16/0.666x = 24
