Question : How do you fix formatting errors on a Sony DSCW55
I just bought a Sony Cybershot DSC W55, as well as a new memory card. When I put the memory card in, a beeping noise starts, and the words "Format Error" flash on the screen. I've tried reformatting the memory card, but it doesn't work. When I stick my dad's memory card in there, everything's fine. Is it just the memory card
Answer:
probably yes. look closely at the slot where you put the memory card. it must say which kind of memory card the camera accepts. the one you have accepts a memory stick duo, as do almost all sony cameras. make sure the card you are inserting IS a sony memory stick duo or memory stick pro duo. they are usually black in color and are kinda longish, more like a chewing gum stick. try putiing the card in a card reader, if ur comp has one, and den in my computer, selecy format drive option. then try putting it back into the camera. if u know anyone else having a cybershot, then try experimenting wid der camera using ur "faulty" card. try messing around, and it will work out. as u say ur dad's card works, i'm sure its not da camera's fault. however, dont try to take out da camera all urself. dat voids da guarantee. if nothing else works, just take it to da place where u bought it, or to a good electronics shwroom. they will surely figure out whats wrong wid it.the formatiing error message usually occurs when the card does not accept the format of the file that da cam makes while taking pictures. its like putting a dvd in a cr-rom. it just wont read it, and spit it out. too bad, electronics dont compromise. best of luck. and btw, nice choice abt da cam.

Answer:
If you are considering a reformat in wiping the hard drive, deleting the current partition, creating a new partition, and then install a new copy of Windows XP, you will need the XP disc it came with. You can eitherA) Locate your XP DiscB) Call up your laptop's support line and order a new discC) Purchase a new copy of Windows XP Professional SP2Sounds like you could use some additional help, you may want to take it to a local repair shop just to make sure it is done properly and fully functional.
