Question : Best camera Sony DSCT900, Canon SD880IS, or Canon SD 780IS
I'm in the market for a small, sleek camera with a good zoom and good photo quality. Video isn't as important. Out of these three, which would you choose and why

Answer:
I bought the sd 780is about a month ago. I like it. But the battery doesn't last long when you're recording HD video. Also, if you're recording HD video it takes up so much space on the memory disk very quickly. I have an 8 GB memory card and after just like 20 minutes of recording the memory card was like over half full.So I bought an extra memory card and 3 extra batteries. I bought the generic brand batteries from ebay. 3 batteries with shipping only came out to $20 Canadian. And the batteries work fine.Whatever camera you get, you should definitely get some kind of case or soft cloth bag for it to protect it from getting scratched.Read some reviews on the sd 780is. Almost everyone gives it 5 stars out of 5. And it's only a little bit more expensive than the sd880is.

Question : digi cams: canon 880is vs. canon 780is
hi all,i'm looking to buy a compact digital camera that's <$300 and i was considering either one of the above. however, i'm having a great deal of trouble picking between the older 880is and the new 780is. they're both around the same price and i've only seen good reviews for both so far, so.. help i'm a novice photographer, btw (this will be my first cam) and am planning on keeping my purchase for many years, if that helps any.what i've gathered from scouring the net for reviews...880is pros: lens are wider (28mm) & longer (3.8x), sharper in corners (according to http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Canon_PowerShot_SD780_IS_IXUS_100_IS/verdict.shtml)780is pros: HD video, sleeker/newer design, lightercons: noisy & large filesif anyone has experience with either (or preferably, both) of these cameras, please share tyvm :)

Answer:
the 880 has better reviewsthe 780 is newer and has hd, but the photos are worse because they had to compromise the lens quality for its small size
