Question : Should I buy the Samsung SL30 or Kodak EasyShare M1033 camera
I'm trying to buy my dad a camera for father's day, and I want to get him a good camera with a decent price. I read that the Kodak camera has a very small joystick and it's hard to move around in the menu, and my dad has big fingers. The Samsung SL30 is powered by two AA batteries though. Which camera should I get Also, can I use rechargeable AA batteries in the Samsung SL30

Answer:
The answer to the main question is neither. Neither of them are particularly good cameras. Samsungs traditionally have poor long term reliability, and while many to take AA batteries they have a habit of going through them rather quickly, and Kodak without a Schneider branded lens is also not particularly good. Secondly using AA batteries may be handy, but do not hold charge as well as the lithium-ion rechargeables specific to some particular cameras.I would recommend looking at either a Panasonic LZ8 with the Leica lens, or a Sony W110 or Sony W120 or Sony W130 with the Zeiss lens. All are 7-8 megapixels which is plenty and crucially have great lenses.
