Customer Review :
New out of box, won't power on all the time.
I purchased this from Amazon (via Tigerdirect) for my wife for her birthday. It was brand new, and she took it to a graduation to test it out and take pics. The first day of use it started having problems, it would not power on with the button, it would require a battery pull in order to get it to work. It was very inconsistent in operation. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm returning it to Tigerdirect and getting a better model.

Poloroid I1036 Digital Camera--Bang For The Buck!
I waited too long to replace the old Fuji 1.5 mega pixel camera I bought in Japan in 1999 for $99. The Polaroid I-1036 is far cheaper but it was worth waiting for. It's amazing how far the technology has come in just 10 years and how small, powerful and reliable they can make these things. The Polaroid I1036 is very small but has a lot of power and capability packed into its tiny frame. Its functions are simple and even menu navigation is simple on it. It's controls and indicators are very logically arranged so the average person could operate it without even reading the manual. In auto mode it shines. It quickly adjusts settings and quickly processes the picture so you may take another. All the enhancements and features that have been developed over the last 15 years in digital cameras seem to be there. It will record video with audio and saves it to an SD high capacity card as a .Wmv file, so it `s video format can be uploaded to YouTube or LiveLeak.. I also bought a small Polaroid Zink PoGo printer that connects easily to any camera and prints very good small photos. This Polaroid camera is feature packed, high resolution, takes great videos and seems reliable and rugged. The kind of camera you keep in your car or take with you to record anything worth taking a picture or video of!

This Polaroid camera is a beaut!
I was looking for a pocket-sized camera to replace a larger camera which, I was told, would cost $250 to repair due to a faulty battery pack. Came across this Polaroid i1036, compared it with other similar cameras, and decided that this was a great buy. When received, I put it through all the paces, testing it under all sorts of conditions which had given me problems with previous digital cameras; it passed all the tests. It starts up very speedily; it takes pictures without any delay; the functions are easy to understand; it's hard to believe that such a great camera could be manufactured at this price! I love that I'm able to toss it into my trousers pocket (or even in the pocket of my jacket) and take it with me wherever I go. The only problem I have is that, as a 6 footer, my hands are rather larger, which means that my big fingers have a tendency to miss the "on" button; but I can live with that mini-problem. Probably I'll eventually catch on concerning how to turn it on properly. Certainly 10 megapixels are more, more than I'll likely ever need.

Question : Is there much difference in photo quality from 6 to 10 mp
I know it means you can blow your pics up bigger, but just curious if any one knows if there's a difference in your pic's quality I'm comparing the Nikon D40 and D60.
Answer:
The 6MP D40 was replaced by the D40x which is 10MP just like the D60 The D40x (6mp) photos are just about the same when compared to the D40x (10mp)http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD40X/page25.aspThe D60 photos compared to the D40x are slightly flatter less contrast, but no difference in qualityhttp://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond60/page23.aspD60 has a '23.7 x 15.8 mm' CCD sensorD40x has a '23.6 x 15.6 mm' CCD sensorD40 has a '23.6 x 15.6 mm CCD sensorD60 has just a .2mm bigger CCDSo apart from bigger prints no major diffrences between themHope that helps.

Question : Why do a 10 MP camera even with wide-angle lense produce wide-angle image at 7 MP only
Many compact superzoom cameras now a days (let say 10 MP) even after with wide-angle lenses produce 16:9 images at 7 MP only. Whereas equivalent 10 MP camera without wide-angle lenses also produce 16:9 image at 7 MP only then how's a wide-angle lense making a difference (You may consider Sony Cybershot H20 and Samsung WB500 for that matter)
Answer:
I'll emphasize that the lens has nothing to do with it. "Wide-angle" does not refer to the shape of the image produced by that lens, but how much of the scene the lens sees. When you zoom out with your camera, you see lots of the scene and are thus getting a "wide angle". A wide angle lens simply shows you more of the scene (good for landscapes, architecture, pictures inside when you can't step back, etc.).As the other posters said, 16:9 images have a lower resolution because they're simply cropping the tops and bottoms off the image to make it that ratio. That's why it doesn't really make sense to shoot in 16:9. If you really want the image to be 16:9 you can crop the tops and bottoms off yourself on the computer.
