Poloroid I1036 Digital Camera--Bang For The Buck!
I waited too long to replace the old Fuji 1.5 mega pixel camera I bought in Japan in 1999 for $99. The Polaroid I-1036 is far cheaper but it was worth waiting for. It's amazing how far the technology has come in just 10 years and how small, powerful and reliable they can make these things. The Polaroid I1036 is very small but has a lot of power and capability packed into its tiny frame. Its functions are simple and even menu navigation is simple on it. It's controls and indicators are very logically arranged so the average person could operate it without even reading the manual. In auto mode it shines. It quickly adjusts settings and quickly processes the picture so you may take another. All the enhancements and features that have been developed over the last 15 years in digital cameras seem to be there. It will record video with audio and saves it to an SD high capacity card as a .Wmv file, so it `s video format can be uploaded to YouTube or LiveLeak.. I also bought a small Polaroid Zink PoGo printer that connects easily to any camera and prints very good small photos. This Polaroid camera is feature packed, high resolution, takes great videos and seems reliable and rugged. The kind of camera you keep in your car or take with you to record anything worth taking a picture or video of!

This Polaroid camera is a beaut!
I was looking for a pocket-sized camera to replace a larger camera which, I was told, would cost $250 to repair due to a faulty battery pack. Came across this Polaroid i1036, compared it with other similar cameras, and decided that this was a great buy. When received, I put it through all the paces, testing it under all sorts of conditions which had given me problems with previous digital cameras; it passed all the tests. It starts up very speedily; it takes pictures without any delay; the functions are easy to understand; it's hard to believe that such a great camera could be manufactured at this price! I love that I'm able to toss it into my trousers pocket (or even in the pocket of my jacket) and take it with me wherever I go. The only problem I have is that, as a 6 footer, my hands are rather larger, which means that my big fingers have a tendency to miss the "on" button; but I can live with that mini-problem. Probably I'll eventually catch on concerning how to turn it on properly. Certainly 10 megapixels are more, more than I'll likely ever need.

New out of box, won't power on all the time.
I purchased this from Amazon (via Tigerdirect) for my wife for her birthday. It was brand new, and she took it to a graduation to test it out and take pics. The first day of use it started having problems, it would not power on with the button, it would require a battery pull in order to get it to work. It was very inconsistent in operation. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm returning it to Tigerdirect and getting a better model.

Editorial Review :
The Polaroid I1036 Digital Camera is perfect for all-around use. The compact design can be carried with you when going out to have fun and clear pictures are easily taken with the 10 megapixel sensor. Boasting features like a 10-megapixel sensor and anti-shake stabilization, every picture comes out with a professional look.

TIGER-DIRECT SUCKS -0, PRODUCT OKAY -3.
The camera, works good...but the SDcard doesn't work--it reads ERROR. I haven't contacted them about it yet, because they did a snap-fool on another order, I've gotten through them. Which hasn't been resolve nor will it be, I bought an "Motorola ROKR E2 Unlocked Phone with Camera, MP3/Video Player, and SD Slot--International Version with No Warranty"...no USB or headphones, included so if you think it's included as well as it should be NOPE... they sell it sapartely, or you must do the run around and call somebody else. I guess they take it out of the box...to resale ripping the customer, not sure but its pretty STRANGE. I tried calling them for resolve on this issue only to get the hold and wait..BULL. I've written Amazon today..will see how this plays out.
AS for feedbacks on them, I wrote one about the phone product, gave them 5 stars until I let my daughter open her present early and I took down my feedback wasn't able to do another on the truth the feature is not retainable..so feedback is pretty bogus.
Good to know.
Anyway, picture is crisp, takes really good pictures, downloads to cumputer well...just only problem SDCARD SUCKS, don't work!!! The case is nice fits pretty well. Good for the price if the SDCARD worked. Anyway, here's the truth, not buying from them again TIGER-DIRECT. Anyway moving on...Have a merry Christmas AND BUYER BEWARE!!!! -GET THE FACTS ABOUT YOUR PURCHASE BEFORE YOU BUY READ ALL YOU CAN ABOUT THE COMPANY MORE SO THAN ABOUT THE PRODUCT EVEN THOUGH IT'S A GOOD TO KNOW TO.-

Question : What is the best digital camera brand to buy
I now own a HP digital camera that works just fine. But before digital came along, I had a Nikon film camera which I just loved. Everytime I see a professional, they are using a Nikon. To me digital can't even compare to film but it's nice to be able to see the pictures before they are developed. I have taken thousands of pictures over the years that are still on my SD cards. Don't get me wrong my digital camera is great and I have developed hundreds of the pictures, but when using digital you just can't stop at one picture.
Answer:
Asking for an opinion between Nikon or Canon is like asking about religion. Both sides will argue until they fall unconcious. The truth is, both Nikon and Canon make fantastic D-SLR cameras. If you owned a Nikon film SLR in the past and still have lenses, you already have a start on a Nikon kit. Almost all Nikon "F" mount lenses made will work on current Nikon digital SLR cameras. A recent exception is the Nikon D40 and D40x - they will autofocus only with Nikon "AF-S" lenses.Canon, on the other hand, is as equally used by professionals as Nikon. They don't have the decades of lens compatibility that Nikon does, but they do have a very developed hypersonic motor focusing system that they have used since the creation of the Canon "EF" lens mount. (Nikon uses their similar "AF-S" technology, but Canon did it first.)Consider both brands equally and be sure to make your final decision standing in your local camera store with the cameras in your hands. Specifications and test reviews on the Web can only tell you so much. Eventually, you have to TRY the cameras and discover which one is for you.-- http://www.lenslenders.com

Question : What digital slr camera is best for amateur photographers
I really want a digital slr camera, but I don't want to spend a fortune, I've been looking at used ones, and refurbished but they're all so expensive I've been manly looking at getting a canon EOS rebel xs. Is that a decent camera I currently have a canon regular digital camera and I love it.
Answer:
With DSLR's your buying into a system and Canon is far and away the most expensive, closely followed by Nikon.Pentax, Olympus and Sony have many more features. They may be more expensive initially, but a soon as you start adding lenses, flashguns etc. they work out much cheaper for the same or Higher quality. You finish with a much more useful system for less money.Things to look for are a bright viewfinder, good build quality, adjustments of everyday things such as EV value, focus point, metering mode etc. without having to go into a menu. These are basic to using your camera for anything other than 'point and shoot'.Pentax and Sony offer image stabilisation in camera, so every lens you fit is image stabilised without a price premium. Pentax in particular have a massive range of older high quality lenses available for very little, all will be image stabilised.A second hand Pentax DS, which is now 5 years old, would be available at a lower price than a Nikon D40 or Canon Rebel, and is much more of a camera than either of them, it has a genuine pentaprism in the viewfinder which means a brighter image, much better build quality, the same Sony sensor that was used on the Nikon D80. The only downside is the lack of image stabilisation. Like all Pentax DSLR's it can operate as a 'focus trap' which no other make of DSLR can do.Chris
