Camera Package and delivery exactly what I expected
This camera was delivered in just a couple of days and everything in the package was just as I ordered. The price with all the "added extras" was much less than the cost of the camera alone on most other sites. No problems whatsoever with the order. I would order from this company again. The "added extras" were not Canon brands but they work well with this camera and were basically free considering the price.

Great Underwater camera - Canon D10
After a thorough review of underwater cameras in a price line of under $500, we settled on the Canon D10. We always snorkel on our Caribbean vacations and typically purchase one of the 1 time use cameras for taking underwater pics. This time we thought we should just go ahead and invest in a "real" underwater camera and were so glad we did. The Canon D10 is great. You can buy just the camera for around $320. Amazon was offering this camera and a 8mb Accessory kit for $369. This was a deal! Included was an extra 8mb card and another battery and other goodies. If you buy this camera.... buy the kit. You need this stuff eventually and this "kit" will save you money. Now.. how was the camera? Unbelievable! The pics are so clear, it is hard to believe the pic is real - looks like something out of National Geographic. We were thrilled! We kept saying how thankful we were that we bought this camera. You won't be disappointed! And it has a video too. Perfect for vacations - compact, durable and waterproof!

worked for 6 days and then it broke
I so much looked forward to this camera. I ordered it for our upcoming 10 day cruise at a.o. Aruba and Curacao. Looked forward to taking underwater pictures in Aruba where we were going to snorkle. I received the camera on 8 October 2009 and on 16 October I took it into the water on our snorkling excursion. We were snorkling for about half an hour and when I tried to look back the menu buttom wasn't working. The only switch that worked was the on/off switch. After getting at first a bright yellow screen and then a white screen the screen went black and the camera died! 6 days of fun with what was supposed to be a 10 day Canon experience with a waterproof camera. The pictures I took up untill the moment the camera stopped working were saved so I do have the underwater pictures with the fish and the shipwreck. I believe that the Canon Powershot D10 underwater camera is not at all waterproof or in my case I received a 'Monday morning' example. Hopefully I will be given a new camera or Canon will fix my camera completely. The quality of the pictures is great, the camera is easy to handle and I was falling in love with it untill it let me down. Hopefully Canon will not let me down.

Canon's iconic ELPH has always been a show-off, with the looks and smarts that make you want to carry it out in the open for everyone to see. The PowerShot SD980 IS takes the concept even further with Canon's first-ever touch panel interface. The camera that invented sleek and slim is equipped with a huge 3-inch PureColor System LCD screen that responds to your touch, delivering operation that's as natural and intuitive as cutting-edge technology should be.Just touch your finger to the huge 3.0-inch PureColor System LCD panel and the PowerShot SD980 IS responds - creating a fun, natural interface that's just the way you want to interact with technology now. When shooting, you can choose an AF point, select a shooting mode, operate the flash, set exposure compensation and more. Playback functions are also performed at your touch: switch between images, scroll display, magnify a portion of an image and control movie playback.

What an upgrade !!
My last digital camera was a Canon Power Shot SD550 digital elph. I decided to buy a new camera for my trip to Costa Rica. after investigation I chose the Canon Power Shot SD980 IS. It was perfect for this trip. The touch screen makes it easy and fast to use in all types of settings. Anyone who has used an iphone will have no problem using this camera. It is small enough to fit in your pocket yet takes beautiful pictures for an amateur photographer. You can take pictures in bright light as well as almost darkness. The battery has a long life. It is easily charged. It is a perfect little camera.

Nice package but poor usability should make you think twice
I bought this camera hoping for nice general use and was disappointed by some fundamental shortcomings The camera does well in well lit conditions or indoors at wide zoom levels. The features and touch screen works well after you get used to them Indoors at more than half zoom and the camera struggles. The slow lens speed and small flash don't measure up to adequate performance The 720p video is awesome, however be advised that you can not rotate wide screen movies if you take them portrait versus landscape format Also, the camera does not provide a full owners manual - only an electronic one. This slows down the ability to get familiar with it. Bottom line, if you need portability this is a good choice. If you need performance indoors forget it In conclusion, I would recommend this only as a second camera to one that does better at any decent zoom settings and indoors

I love this camera!
This is my 3rd Canon compact camera. This camera has so many more features than the other versions I have had. I love the touch screen features. It makes using the camera much easier and faster when you need to change a setting.

Least Favorite Canon PowerShot
I certainly agree with the reviewers who have been saying the SD980IS produces fine pictures, but not in automatic mode. However, my review is less forgiving. If I buy a PowerShot, I expect it to perform well in ALL modes. I typically prefer to shoot in the manual modes, but there are times when I really like to go fully automatic and not think about settings.
I kept hoping there would be some type of firmware update that would tweak the settings in the automatic mode, but none have been produced yet. In auto mode, the picture quality is the lowest I've seen for any PowerShot, 8MP or greater. I tend to upgrade my pocket camera every year. I don't know if it is something unique to the sensor used in this camera or is a firmware issue.
I've traded my SD980IS for the Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Digital Camera with 3.7x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver). I was worried, because I was afraid it was an issue with the DIGIC 4 technology, but the pictures with the SD990IS are great in ALL modes.
However, the touchscreen features of the 980IS are fun to use and I like the ease for using the focus features it allows. Intuitive. Also, the VIDEO quality is excellent. Would like to combine the touchscreen features of the SD980IS with the picture quality of the SD990IS.

defective
The first few test shots were fine, but the photos got lighter and lighter, to the point where they all ended up like a white cloud. So I cannot tell you how good or bad the product is. I am returning this and will report back once I get its replacement.

You will be disappointed with this camera
I bought the Powershot 1300is to replace my Powershot A610. I like the color, big LCD screen, and the feel of the camera. When the camera arrived, I took several pictures with different settings. The pictures all came out grainy and fuzzy at the edge (with or without zoom is the same). Additionally, the image/picture viewed through the LCD screen is obviously grainy. Consider how much I have to pay for this camera, I don't think the price reflect the quality. I returned the 1300is and just bought the 1400is. There is an obvious difference between the 1300is and the 1400is. The picture take with the 1400is is crazily clear and crisp. So I recommend to pay a little bit more to get the 1400is and stay away from the 1300is.

Questions & Answers
Question : Canon digital camera and other non canon lens?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT and I was wondering what other kinds of non canon brand lenses can I use with my camera? Currently I use a Canon 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55mm kit lens.
Answer:
Some lenses to consider are those from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. On average, each lens does not do as well as their Canon or Nikon counterparts, but still get the job done. If you want quality, get Canon lenses. If you want a cheap alternative, go to the third party brands. As for specifics, I use a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 at the moment, but am going to upgrade to a 70-200mm VR once I save up enough money. The Tamron is good for the money, but slow to focus. I hear this also plagues the type with the built in motor. The type of lens you want depends on the type of shooting you're going to do. If you shoot landscapes, look into a wide angle lens, such as the Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 17-50mm. For telephoto zoom, the 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron would be a good option. I don't care too much for the Sigma, because there are issues with the outer coating. For portrait work, I've heard good things about the Tamron 90mm macro, or the Sigma 70mm macro. I have not used Tonkina, but some people say they are good, while others do not. I guess the same goes for Sigma, but not so much with Tamron.

Question : Suggestion for a canon digital camera?
Hi guys!I'm planning on a getting a canon digital camera (i alr have my dslr hehe) and the canon digital camera is for me and my family to share :) Yeap!Any ideas or suggestions which one i should get?
Answer:
Canon's latest EOS 7D mid-range DSLR is a pretty good option. It sports an 18 megapixel CMOS sensor, 19 point auto-focus system, an intelligent viewfinder, and 8 frames per second shooting. Additionally, it includes Canon's Dual DIGIC 4, an advanced imaging processor, which is the real engine behind EOS 7D's efficient and high resolution photography. If DSLR is not in your wish list, you can buy a Canon PowerShot or a more stylish Canon IXUS camera. IXUS range of Canon cameras is slimmer, has all the latest features, and looks elegant in hands.

Question : Which is the best canon digital camera?
Hey, i recently purchased the Canon digital Elph, and it really sucks at taking pictures. I mean its good overall, but it gets REALLY shaky, and i would prefer something that is very durable. I believe there are certain types of canon cameras that work really well in taking pictures. Not really interested in the whole professional camera's only small digital cameras. What are the good ones? (From canon only)
Answer:
Here, take a look.http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/Actually all Canon cameras can take excellent photos. The user just has to understand the limitations under the conditions they use the cameras."REALLY" shaky shots are caused by using too slow a shutter speed when hand holding the camera. This applies to cameras that cost under $100 to the $8,000 Canon professional DSLR. Changing cameras will not solve this problem. It can be reduced some by buying a camera with built-in image stabilization system

Question : Where can I get a nifty screen protector for my Canon digital camera?
A friend told me that they make those plastic protector things (that adhere just with static electricity) for digital camera screens so you don't scratch them. he said you can get them specifically for your make and model so they fit perfectly. I have a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. Where can I find a protector for it?
Answer:
If you chose to go with the plastic protectors go to Walmart and by the targus at 2.79 than cut them by yourself. There are 4 in the box so if you make a mistake just throw it and cut a new one.If you chose to go with a custom made one made of glass be ready to spend around 30 dollars. Is it worth it for a camera that cost 240? Your call, I chose the Targus for my G10.

Question : where can i find a free downloadable software for my canon digital camera?
my camera is a canon powershot SD600 digital elph and i dont have the proper software on my desktop because its on my laptop. i just want to downloa a free software for my camera if that is possible.
Answer:
you need to go to canon.com and look for a site map and click downloads or software updates. You should be able to located the model you have and be able to download the programs to work on your computer or laptop.

Question : accesories for canon digital camera which makes me look like a pro?
haha! so i bought a new canon digital camera a Powershot a2000 IS. are there accessories that can make my photographs look pro and beautiful?and how do i attach them? pictures would be much appreciated thanks!
Answer:
Actually, your own photography skills will make your pictures look "pro and beautiful". So just focus on improving your photography skills. Even with a point-and-shoot camera, a person can take some very good pictures. Play around with the manual settings on your camera until you discover what works best for taking pictures under certain conditions. And read about things pertaining to photography, such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO speed, etc.

Question : Which is better a Sony or a Canon digital camera ?
I'm panning to buy a good digital camera and i'm wondering which is better a sony digital camera or a canon. Do you know any good model to suggest ?
Answer:
Sony tends to be lower end. They're limited on lenses and feel cheap. Sony has been making SLRs since 2006 and Canon since the early 1900s. Who do you think would be better?
