| Editorial Review :
The Canon EF 1.4x II Extender is a high-quality teleconverter that preserves the image quality of the lens it's mounted to and multiplies its focal length by 1.4x. When combined with pro level EOS cameras & EF supertelephoto lenses with image stabilization, near imperviousness to weather extremes is achieved thanks to rubber gasket seals. Improved antireflective internal coatings also increase transmissivity & performance in backlit conditions. The 1.4x extender (also known as a teleconverter) will multiply the focal length of the existing lens by 1.4x, and will cut back the amount of light by one f/stop. For example, using a 1.4x teleconverter with a 300mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to approximately 420mm. A lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/4. Teleconverters are best used with longer telephoto lenses and are not recommended for lenses wider than 50mm, e.g. 28-105mm (35mm format).
Customer Review :
Probably as good as a teleconverter can get
Obviously, you can't expect to include additional glass elements to a lens without any reduction in resulting image quality whatsoever. But after using this alongside another (3rd party) teleconverter, I feel that I can safely conclude that this is the best one on the market for Canon cameras.
I use this teleconverter in conjunction with an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM mounted on a Canon EOS 40D. The multiplier turns this lens into an effective 98-280mm f/4. Autofocus still operates beautifully, and the loss in image quality, especially when stopped down a little further, is almost unnoticeable. You'd really have to get in there to see any problems, and sometimes I can't even do it then.
I have added a couple of images taken with the extender, showing off some of its capabilities.
As a seller, B&H Photo and Video probably ranks #1 in my book in terms of honesty and customer service.

Nice Camera But Slow
This is a very nice camera with a decent zoom and pretty easy to use features but it is S-L-O-W. Next picture delay is several seconds in excellent lighting situations, and flash recovery time is agonizingly slow. And that is with brand-new Ultimate Lithium batteries and using aData 16GB Class 6 flash memory which has been formatted in the camera. It goes downhill from there. I bought this camera based on a good CR review and regret my decision. I was seeking a good quality point-and-shoot camera with a better than 3X zoom and have always respected Canon products, but this camera is a major disappointment. When it does take a picture though, it is usually a good high-quality image. In retrospect, I would give up the zoom to get greatly improved next picture performance.

Buy lots of batteries or a different camera
We purchased this camera over a year ago. Since then I have missed many pictures due to low batteries. We have tried all different brands of batteries with the same results. We thought maybe we could use AA rechargeable batteries but the instructions state not to use this type of battery. When they first start to die, it takes FOREVER for the camera to write the picture to the card, therefore you miss the next shot because you are waiting for the camera to reset. It is not good in low light, therefore you need to use the flash more often, making the battery life even worse! We took the camera to a 1 hour children's breakfast with a fresh set of batteries and by the end of breakfast had a low battery warning. I decided to write this review, because after 1 year of owning this camera, I am back at amazon looking for another point and shoot. I am embarrassed to see how much I paid for this! I could have bought a Canon G series for this price (the G series size is not all that much bigger)! I own a Canon G2 and it is one of the best cameras I have ever owned.
Things I liked: - Video mode takes nice videos for computer use (youtube, facebook etc.) I am not sure how they look on a regular TV. - Canon menus and settings are easy to understand. I own or have owned at least 5 Canon cameras. - Had problems with other Canon cameras and the power switch being too easy to accidentally turn on the camera. Not a problem with this one.
Things I did not like: - Battery life is terrible. I did not have this problem with the canons that use dedicated rechargeable batteries. - poor in low light. Did not notice that IS made the low light pics any better. Have to use flash almost always. - Slow to reset, especially as battery gets low - Slow to focus, especially as battery gets low - Plastic feels cheap and shows signs of cracking and wear after 1 year of use - Price. You can get lots more for your money.

The best prosumer camera ever
I really loved this camera...for people that want to take great pictures with a non professional camera, this one will help you. This camera takes phenomenal pictures, everyone ask me what camera do I use to take my pictures. the zoom could be 15x, but anyway is good!! the camera body is resistent, mine fell down tons of time and is still working LOL Also the camera works very well during the day or night, cause you can use the manual mode and make your own ajustments. the camera aperture f2.8 helps you to take great pictures at night!!!

Decent video, unreliable everything
I've had this camera for several months now and it's been back for warranty repairs twice. First for the screen going dead, second for the lens retraction mechanism failing. Those were both fixed under warranty with little hassle aside from lost time. The frustrating thing about this camera is the unreliable file system that it uses. Multiple times the camera has taken it upon itself to completely erase the SD card when trying to take a picture or movie. Today it erased an entire day's worth of movies and photos (including my son's first bike ride) and only kept the last few movies recorded. Also, unless the camera is set in completely manual mode it is too slow to auto-set while taking photos. It can take up to a couple seconds from button press to image capture. The image quality is only so-so unless the photo is taken in bright light (outdoors in sunlight). Even normal indoor room lighting results in noisy images unless the flash is used.

Question : Where can I get a nifty screen protector for my Canon digital camera?
A friend told me that they make those plastic protector things (that adhere just with static electricity) for digital camera screens so you don't scratch them. he said you can get them specifically for your make and model so they fit perfectly. I have a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. Where can I find a protector for it?
Answer:
If you chose to go with the plastic protectors go to Walmart and by the targus at 2.79 than cut them by yourself. There are 4 in the box so if you make a mistake just throw it and cut a new one.If you chose to go with a custom made one made of glass be ready to spend around 30 dollars. Is it worth it for a camera that cost 240? Your call, I chose the Targus for my G10.

Question : Which is better a Sony or a Canon digital camera ?
I'm panning to buy a good digital camera and i'm wondering which is better a sony digital camera or a canon. Do you know any good model to suggest ?
Answer:
Sony tends to be lower end. They're limited on lenses and feel cheap. Sony has been making SLRs since 2006 and Canon since the early 1900s. Who do you think would be better?

Question : Canon digital camera and other non canon lens?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT and I was wondering what other kinds of non canon brand lenses can I use with my camera? Currently I use a Canon 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55mm kit lens.
Answer:
Some lenses to consider are those from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. On average, each lens does not do as well as their Canon or Nikon counterparts, but still get the job done. If you want quality, get Canon lenses. If you want a cheap alternative, go to the third party brands. As for specifics, I use a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 at the moment, but am going to upgrade to a 70-200mm VR once I save up enough money. The Tamron is good for the money, but slow to focus. I hear this also plagues the type with the built in motor. The type of lens you want depends on the type of shooting you're going to do. If you shoot landscapes, look into a wide angle lens, such as the Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 17-50mm. For telephoto zoom, the 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron would be a good option. I don't care too much for the Sigma, because there are issues with the outer coating. For portrait work, I've heard good things about the Tamron 90mm macro, or the Sigma 70mm macro. I have not used Tonkina, but some people say they are good, while others do not. I guess the same goes for Sigma, but not so much with Tamron.

Question : what is the latest model of canon digital camera and what is diffrences between these ?
i have bought cannos sd 630 . But i know there is latest model of canon digital camera in the market . So i want to know what can i do with my cannos sd 630 and what can't i do ?
Answer:
The Canon SD 630 is a very good compact camera.I don't think you should worry about the other models for now. I would wait till next year to see what is coming out. They are...SD800 IS, 7.1 MP, 3.7x opticalSD900, 10MP, 3x opticalA630, 8MP, 4x optical but larger in sizeThe two SD models just have more megapixels and the newer processor. And the SD630 has the same excellent movie mode...and has a large 3.0" LCD. Just make sure you use a fast SD card.

Question : How do I unlock my memory card on my Canon digital camera?
I have a Canon Power Shot SD1000 Digital Elph. I have a memory card that I took pictures on, and somehow the memory card is locked. I let someone hold my camera, so I don't know how it got locked in the first place. It won't let me access my photos, and I know it's the memory card not the camera because the other memory card works. What do I do?!?!?!
Answer:
If you look at the memory card it self there should be a small switch on it. Slide it back and your ready to go!

Question : Which is the best canon digital camera?
Hey, i recently purchased the Canon digital Elph, and it really sucks at taking pictures. I mean its good overall, but it gets REALLY shaky, and i would prefer something that is very durable. I believe there are certain types of canon cameras that work really well in taking pictures. Not really interested in the whole professional camera's only small digital cameras. What are the good ones? (From canon only)
Answer:
Here, take a look.http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/Actually all Canon cameras can take excellent photos. The user just has to understand the limitations under the conditions they use the cameras."REALLY" shaky shots are caused by using too slow a shutter speed when hand holding the camera. This applies to cameras that cost under $100 to the $8,000 Canon professional DSLR. Changing cameras will not solve this problem. It can be reduced some by buying a camera with built-in image stabilization system
