Canon's update to the PowerShot S100, the PowerShot S110, packs a high-quality digital camera into the tiny, elegant body of Canon's Digital Elph series. The idea behind the Elph line is simple: create a camera small enough to slip into a shirt pocket, so you can take it anywhere. To improve upon the impressive specs of the original, Canon upgraded the image processor, making it both faster and more effective in maximizing color fidelity and saturation. Additionally, the S110 has the ability to record QuickTime movies. A new, tiny microphone is embedded in the front of the camera. The basics include 2-megapixel resolution (1,600 x 1,200 image resolution) for high-quality photos and prints up to 8 by 10 inches; an all-glass aspherical 2x zoom lens (and a 2.5x digital zoom as well). A 1.5-inch LCD monitor displays most camera settings with easy-to-understand icons and minimal text. The built-in flash uses a light guide and does not need a Fresnel lens or a large reflector, making the camera even more compact. The PowerShot S110 stores images on an included 8 MB CompactFlash card. Adobe PhotoDeluxe and PhotoStitch control image management, editing, compositing, and printing, while ZoomBrowser EX or ImageBrowser produce self-running screen slide shows, automatic e-mail preparation, and auto layout. The camera uses a high-speed plug-and-play USB interface, plus it has NTSC-out so you can view your photos on your TV. It's fully compatible with both Mac and PC platforms.

my best friend
I love my Canon Powershot S110. I've had it for about 2 and a half years now and it still works like it did when it was brand new. I've seen the latest Powershot Digital Elph (Ixus) cameras, and sure they are improvements on the S110, but there's something about the S110's heavy metallic casing that makes it long-lasting and extremely durable, perhaps more durable than the latest in this product line. The picture quality is great, comparable to the latest Digital Elphs. I've taken this camera to Europe and back, twice, to Japan, and across the US, always carrying it in my front pants pocket. I'm not planning to buy a new digital camera until my S110 stops working, which probably won't be for a long time.

s110 digital camera review
This little camera packs a big punch. The picture quality seems better than 2.1MP. There is only one thing i can complain about, and that is the battery which barely lasts at all.

Decent photos, not too reliable, lacks attention to details!
I got this camera as a replacement for my giant (but wonderful) film camera when it first came out. It was great to just stick it in my purse and go. After a couple months the LCD screen stopped working. Even when I took a picture it would come up black on my computer. I sent it back to Canon and they fixed it. Wish it would've worked right the first time around.
There's a lag between when you hit the button and when it actually takes the picture (results in some funny-looking posed pictures because people think the picture's already been taken!). It doesn't take very good indoor photos (flash looks harsh, doesn't focus well). And action shots are kind of a problem unless they're from a distance. The colors don't seem very true-to-life.
I just got a photo printer and printed out a lot of photos taken with this camera and a few taken with a friend's newish Sony 4 megapixel camera. His photos were all much sharper and had much truer color.

Lights. Camera. Action!
I've had this camera for almost two years and I love it.
It's the perfect first camera for users who are comfortable with technology. There are simpler (and cheaper) cameras for people who are less compfortable with technology. This one packs the right amount of sophistication in features, and simplicity in usage - and all that in one small little bundle! It's strong points: * small. * light. * solid (dropped mine a couple of times and its still going strong). * good zoom. * good battery life. * auto-flash - which is so helpful for amateurs like myself who are never sure about how much light is enough. * some more advanced ones (manual flash, timer, etc.) if you want to experiment and improve your skills. * comes with software to download and retouch your photos, rendering the process relatively easy. All in all, this camera and Canon's Powershot line are an excellent choice for most people.

AMAZING LITTLE CAMERA
This is an AMAZING LITTLE CAMERA. I have had mine for probably five years and have never been disappointed in it. I have an extra battery that I have on charge and switch back and forth when the one in the camera is getting low. This camera is small but packed with power. It's easily tucked in a pocket or a fanny pack on vacation. There is no fumbling when it comes to using it. Turn it on, point and shoot - easy as that. The pictures are crisp and clear. I hope this review helps. I can't imagine anyone not being happy with this camera.

Loaded with first-of-its-kind features and high-end capabilities, the Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS Digital ELPH gives ELPH lovers all new reasons to step up. Customer Review :
worst digital point and shoot camera I've owned
Bought this camera a yr ago and always had trouble getting clear shots. I thought I check other reviews for this camera to see if others experience the same frustration. I've had 4 other point and shoot cameras before this all cheaper and all producing much better picture quality. I didn't bother returning this early on because I never really used it myself even though I disliked the pictures I took with it. I bought this camera for my wife after buying the canon 5d for myself. It is just now after my wifes constant complaining about not being able to adjust settings to get better picture quality that i decide to play around with it. I was unable to do anything to improve the quality of the photos and just today I turned it on and got an error for the lens. I turn it off and on again and it start to smoke. I did a little more review reading and found someone who got the same lens error and is now unable to use his camera. I love canon but this camera just doesn't deliver.

Good camera
This is my second Canon. And it does not disappoint me.
I like the compact size of the camera, it fits into pocket, purse easily. Although it is small, the construction seems to be pretty solid.
I love one thing about this camera is the face recognition technology. It is so cool. How can a camera be so smart?
I would recommend it to anyone.

Great consumer-grade camera
This camera is very quick and easy to use. The features I use the most are very easy to get to and switch between on-the-fly.
The image quality is very good in good lighting. As with most low cost consumer cameras the quality of the pictures goes down drastically in low light if you don't use the flash or have a tripod. This camera does have an ISO 3200 setting which will get you images in low light without a flash... which has been very helpful in live performances where use of flash is not allowed. There is alot of noise in these images, but not as bad as past versions of the camera. Overall the picture quality and color is very good for most applications.
Most everything I look for in a 'point-and-shoot' is represented in this camera. The battery lasts a really long time between charges. The memory card is easy to change out. The different shooting options I use most are quickly accessible (macro lens, ISO, flash/no-flash, stock lighting defaults, video, manual vs. auto modes). The metal housing is great. The zoom is better than previous versions of the camera, but I try not to use much because image quality is compromised quickly, especially at maximum zoom. The size is perfect, not too big or small. Its easy to get your finger in the way of the flash, so I have to be mindful of that.
Overall, this is one of the best cameras I have owned and it would be a tough sell to sway me away from this line of Canon cameras.

Great little camera
Bought one for my wife, she loves it. Easy to use, good quality and the pics are top notch with good light.
Rating :
Excellent small camera
I bought this after I lost my first one on a trip.
The camera is very easy to use as a point and shoot. The image quality is excellent for a camera of this size. The extra features are nice, but there is a learning curve and you should read the manual that comes with the camera before trying to use the settings. The zoom is good and it takes reasonable pictures even in low light. You can set the ASA manually, you can turn off the flash, you can set it for various *kinds* of pictures although I mostly keep it on *kids and pets* since I am taking action shots of my grandchildren more than anything else.
It fits in a pocket or purse though I prefer to use a small camera bag.
My only problem with this particular camera is that the battery life is very poor compared to the battery life on the first one I had. Not sure if that is because of the battery itself or if the camera is using more power than normal. I bought extra batteries and switch them out when the first one goes dead and then recharge.
I purchased this one used and had to buy a new memory card for it as well. But those are not expensive really.

Canon's new consumer-oriented digital camera, the A20, is a great 2-megapixel point-and-shoot. The 3x optical zoom lens includes an aspherical element to help reduce distortion and provide clarity. The built-in flash provides red-eye reduction, fill, night, auto, and off modes. While aimed at the consumer crowd, the A20 also features exposure compensation controls between +/- 2 EV in one-third increments. Additionally, there are several white-balance settings to choose from to help in most shooting situations.
Customer Review :
Older Canon digital camera the A20
I just purchased another Canon A20. This one was used. I use them in my business to photograph houses. I have 2 currently being used and this will be the third. I have purchased other digitals, Fuji, Pentax, Nikkon, and even the newer Canon 510. All have had problems and did not last 6 months. The Canon 510 has a major design/engineering flaw. When the batteries die and the camera is in the process of taking a photo, the lens attempts to retract into the camera but gets stuck. When new batteries are put in, the lens will not move. You cannot take photos with it. After the fiasco with the new Canon and the other name brand digitals, I decided to try and find an A20. I did and it works as good as my other two, though it is used.

The Canon PowerShort is a workhorse of a digital camera. I have had mine for 4 or 5 years and taken thousands upon thousands of pictures. The camera has never failed that I remember.

Great Small Canon Powershot
When my granddaughter lost her digital camera I looked around and did a little research on a replacement. This is the camera I came up with and my grad daughter dearly loves it. It is easy to work , easy to carry and very lightweight. The picture quality is very good. She loves the 3X zoom lens. Even after weeks of heavy use the case still looks new.

Best Camera in my life...
This is my first digital camera, and I've been using it since 2002. It has taken more than 10k photos and still works like a charm. The only reason that I decided to replace it is it's getting bulky, also the LCD screen is too small in nowadays standard.
The size: it's a big and bulky, but with 4x AA battery can last you 250+ photos before replacing them Battery Life: i use 1800amh batteries and they last 8 hours before I need a new set of battery Quality: The usual Canon quality, and it's still beat some of other entry level camera that's released in 2010. The only problem is noise level is quite high at ISO 400. Control: it doesn't have the 4-direction button for you to choose from. Reliability: the best I know! It's been 8 years and it's still going without ANY problem.

Question : Which is the best canon digital camera?
Hey, i recently purchased the Canon digital Elph, and it really sucks at taking pictures. I mean its good overall, but it gets REALLY shaky, and i would prefer something that is very durable. I believe there are certain types of canon cameras that work really well in taking pictures. Not really interested in the whole professional camera's only small digital cameras. What are the good ones? (From canon only)
Answer:
Here, take a look.http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/Actually all Canon cameras can take excellent photos. The user just has to understand the limitations under the conditions they use the cameras."REALLY" shaky shots are caused by using too slow a shutter speed when hand holding the camera. This applies to cameras that cost under $100 to the $8,000 Canon professional DSLR. Changing cameras will not solve this problem. It can be reduced some by buying a camera with built-in image stabilization system

Question : What kind of batteries should be used with Canon Digital camera A 570? Any specific brand?
I have recently purchased Canon A 570 Digital camera. The batteries have gone dead I have replaced the old Panasonic batteries with brand new Duracell battery however the moment I inserted the batteries I get battery low display. Are there any specific brands that we have to purchase and any specific model? Can we use rechargeable batteries?Which recharger should I use? Any specific brand? Please let me know the exact name of the model/brand of batteries.
Answer:
Yes, of course you can use rechargeable batteries. In fact, that's what you SHOULD use. Any good name brand of rechargeable NiMh battery and charger will do. Make sure they are high capacity (something like Energizer 2700mAh or higher).Your camera only uses 2 AA batteries, so make sure you buy 4 batteries and a charger that can charge 4 batteries at a time, so you always have a spare set.To lengthen your battery life, make sure you turn off the LCD in between shots, and also limit the use of the flash, zoom and recording of movies.Make sure you always give the batteries a charge before you plan to use the camera. Especially if you have not used it in a while, because NiMh batteries will discharge at the rate of about 1/2 -1% per day when not used. You can also use Lithium batteries (such as Energizer e2). They are non rechargeable and fairly expensive, but provide a much longer battery life than ordinary batteries. They are perfect as an emergency backup...and the good thing about them is that they do not discharge when not used.good luck...

Question : Canon digital camera and other non canon lens?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT and I was wondering what other kinds of non canon brand lenses can I use with my camera? Currently I use a Canon 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55mm kit lens.
Answer:
Some lenses to consider are those from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. On average, each lens does not do as well as their Canon or Nikon counterparts, but still get the job done. If you want quality, get Canon lenses. If you want a cheap alternative, go to the third party brands. As for specifics, I use a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 at the moment, but am going to upgrade to a 70-200mm VR once I save up enough money. The Tamron is good for the money, but slow to focus. I hear this also plagues the type with the built in motor. The type of lens you want depends on the type of shooting you're going to do. If you shoot landscapes, look into a wide angle lens, such as the Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 17-50mm. For telephoto zoom, the 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron would be a good option. I don't care too much for the Sigma, because there are issues with the outer coating. For portrait work, I've heard good things about the Tamron 90mm macro, or the Sigma 70mm macro. I have not used Tonkina, but some people say they are good, while others do not. I guess the same goes for Sigma, but not so much with Tamron.

Question : What canon digital camera body do you recommend to fit my sigma zoom lenses?
I have a Canon EOS Rebel G that came with a 28-80 mini zoom macro and a 70-300 macro super.....I want to get a digital that i can still use my lenses on.Any recommendations? Would it be cheaper to get just the body? Im looking in the $500 range.I am not a pro, but hope to get a good camera to learn that will last.
Answer:
Sure, you can buy something like the entry level Canon Rebel XSi or XS and will save buy buying only the body. If you want a wide angle lens, you will find the "kit" lens (18-55 mm IS) will give you a decent wide angle view.

Question : Which is better a Sony or a Canon digital camera ?
I'm panning to buy a good digital camera and i'm wondering which is better a sony digital camera or a canon. Do you know any good model to suggest ?
Answer:
Sony tends to be lower end. They're limited on lenses and feel cheap. Sony has been making SLRs since 2006 and Canon since the early 1900s. Who do you think would be better?
