Great Camera
My sister in law got this camera first. The first time she asked me to take a picture of her, I knew I had to have one too. It's very easy to use and the picture quality is amazing. It has many different functions, including a 2 and 10 second timer, and the ability to automatically take three pics in a row (on a timer). It's also compatible with sdhc cards. There's only two cons as far as I can tell. One, before you take the picture and you're looking at the lcd screen, it's a little fuzzy. But it always shows a clear picture afterwards. And two, the flash takes a while to recharge, like 5-10 seconds. Other than that, it's simply a great camera. I didn't get mine from Amazon though. I got it from Walmart because it was a little cheaper there.

Nice Camera with a small price tag
Perfect photos, acceptable videos and LCD,easy usage ,acceptable size and weight.
It might be as well to be icons on function buttons more understandable. For example:OK text on the button is more understandable than "Func set" text, on the zoom In/Out buttons it would be better to set icons like magnifier with +/- symbols than strange big tree/small trees.
Conclusion: As a matter of fact I'm satisfied.

Amazing perform
My new Canon Power Shot A480 is a beauty, I love it. It is not a complicated camera, its performance is amazing and the pictures have beautiful color. I am very pleased with my new camera.

Canon PowerShot A380 10mp
I like this camera plus that fact I got it in my favorite color BLUE....I only find one thing I do NOT like. My last canon had a zoom in lens to 23X, this camera is only 13X. While that is good, I would rather focus a little closer. I recommend this for daily use. I am never without my camera. This is light and easily portable. Anyone who gets this will be happy about it.

Less than expectations
I recieved this camera one day ago...I have many P&S all of them are less expensive but regarding the image quality, all of them better than this camera....I took few pictures under sun light and the image quality is not bad but not great...They are close to the kodak M340 which is one sixth the price of this one.... The touch screen is very responsive, the design is good and it feels tough..These are the only advantages and why I gave it 2 stars... But...I expected a camera with a fast shutter speed and no delay and at least can take good pictures...But realy this camera disappointed me...The indoor pictures are BAD even using the flash which takes the whole life to load ,and on top of that slow shutter speed..Pictures are noisy and you even don't want to look at them...I campared its pictures to the pictures of the Sony DSC-T500,Kodak M340,Kodak Z950 and Samsung TL225 and no comparison with the pictures of any of these....I tried all the settings hoping I'm wrong but all the indoor pictures were horrible. Maybe my expectations were high...But this what you expect from canon and for this price...I hope I'm wrong but I don't think this camera worths $30.

Nice LCD but so-so pictures
Canon has a good reputation in digicams and I have been wanting a Canon ultra-compact P&S for some time. Looked at the SD980 first, but heard some negative comments on its LCD. So I grabbed the SD3500. The best way to test it is to compare with my other digicams. Under a table light, I tried to shoot a toy solar bug with the SD3500 and ZS3. Both failed to focus. I then took out the LX2. It focused and took a clear picture.
I got a bad feeling that the SD3500 was to disappoint due to its small sensor, because what I am looking for are low light capability and fast AF. So I took the camera out to shoot some moving objects. The IS is worse than expected and many pictures are blurred. AF is slow even in a well lit department store. In general its picture quality and low light performance are similar to those of the ZS3. I mostly used the auto modes because that is what I use these cameras for. The ZS3 has 12x optical zoom and is $100 cheaper right now. Therefore even the 3.5" touch screen LCD is very nice and there are some other good features, the SD3500 is not a keeper.
Besides there are other problems with this camera. A few of the pictures have two distinct color tones divided by a straight line, either vertical or horizontal. This may be a problem with the Adata SDHC class 10 8GB memory card which was also newly bought.
I first post a review on Canon's website under this camera (3 stars too). But Canon does not display my review. So I would think three times when I would ever buy Canon again.

Fun to and easy to use
I have had this for a few weeks and I like it more and more each time I use it. I am in no way a pro, just a guy who wanted a camera that I can grow with.
Pros: Very cool design, easy and fast to turn on Big screen, easy to see while taking a shot and after to see if you got the shot Touch screen user interface is nice and easy to use (once you get the hang of it) I like the image output, but I am not a pro Tons and tons of options (see Cons)
Cons: Tons and tons of options, can be a bit overwhelming to someone like me, but the auto mode works very well User interface could be a bit more consistent (but as it is a touch screen so perhaps Canon may upgrade the interface) A bit front heavy, by this I mean that if you set it down with the lens extended (and even when retracted) if does not take much for it to want to roll forward onto it's lens. Other cameras may be like this as well, just be careful
One last tiny thing, the box says the camera is black, but it looks more like a dark navy blue if you ask me.
Overall I am very pleased with this camera.

Great little camera
My last camera was pretty ancient - a Canon SD630. I bought it some years ago, and it was top of the line. It still takes really good pics for a camera its size. But, I felt it was time to upgrade. When I took my first SD3500 picture, the first thing I noticed was that it did a great job with the colors, even with the flash at close quarters. My second impression was that the photo looked a tad soft compared to my SD630, so I fired up an image editor to look at the quality.
The SD3500 *seems* to favor color quality and accuracy over sharpness. My SD630 seems to prefer sharpness at the expense of color quality. I did a fair test by setting both cameras' flashes off and doing a timed tripod shot of the same subject. The SD3500 produced noticeably sharper images, so my fears that the optics weren't there were allayed. I think if there is softness, it comes from image processing and not from the actual optics.
Auto mode is really, really good. I truly feel confident in leaving it in that mode as it seems to find its footing every time. And when the flash goes off, though I expect to see a whitewashed foreground and a darkened background, I get a very color-rich and white-balanced image. Again, auto mode really works.
Video quality was good, not great. I can get pretty clear 720p video, but it's nothing that will astound anyone. Zoom during shooting is definitely digital, so pre-optical zoom before shooting.
All of my testing tonight has been in low light, so that could also explain some lack of sharpness. Can't wait to try this in the sun.
The touch screen is responsive enough, though I find the photo swiping and pan scrolling gestures to be a bit slow and laggy. Other gestures and button presses work pretty well. Not iPhone quality UI, but not bad at all. Photos and videos look really great as the screen res is very high and colors are very saturated.
Build quality - well, Canon always does a great job. The SD3500 feels to me just a hair lighter than it looks, which is a good thing I think. I like the less gawdy design than some of Canon's other designs.
Is this camera better than the SD980? I honestly don't know as my upgrade isn't from that camera. I do know that I really like this camera.
Pros: - Seems to focus on color quality over sharpness - Auto mode always produces good to great results - Touch interface works great, overall, and the side tapping is useful - Touch to focus, smile detector, blink detection, and all that stuff actually does work well. - Image Stabilizer is not overdone, and still gives you responsiveness. - The various shooting modes are fun to play with - Great build quality
Cons: - Some aspects of the touch interface could be more responsive - No optical zoom during video shooting - No high frame rate video modes - HDMI and USB doors are a little hard to get open - Mini HDMI cable is not included. Cmon Canon, it's like $2 from Amazon. - Well, er, seems to focus on color quality over sharpness.

Excellent or Acceptable Depending on your Usage
Alright, so the basic features of this camera (minus the tilt shift and fish eye, and the resolution) are pretty much the same as a previous model i owned.
I knew what to expect from this camera but with only a few slight improvements. It was the exact same cost as the model I had before (which thoroughly impressed me), so I had no problem switching it out for this one.
The full touch screen made two-handed menu navigation much easier to get through versus having to use buttons with the right and thumb on the left. basically you can safely hold the camera and use both thumbs (or even fingers depending on how you hold it) to use the screen. I dig the fluff features like tapping the side to navigate the photos and clicking (think iphone/ipod touch).
One piece that I will touch on here is the quality of the presets. While there are certain scene settings you would use for certain situations (snow fireworks, etc) they do not do a thorough or specific enough job explaining when you'd want to use this versus the "P" (program). The low light scene setting is the most disappointing. You can't simply flip it on and expect fantastic pictures as if you had a good natural light source. The flash is a default with this, so if you're trying to get something close-up in a darker setting, beware. Otherwise, the setting is OK with a flash, so long as you are not right up on the subject or trying to capture something reflective. I simply have personal presets that I picked out to avoid using the flash at all. Generally for low light settings, I opted to program my own so I can choose the ISO that fits it the best. Just know that the higher you set the ISO, the grainer you pictures will become. This is something that is a universal thing, not just specific to this camera. The same goes with digital zoom. This is a point/shoot camera so it DOES have limitations; I'm well aware of that, so if I need something i know it can't do, I just use my highzoom Fuji or DSLR NikonD3000.
You can't have a single camera that is going to be able to do everything perfectly. But I will say that unlike some other reviewers I found the quality that comes from this model in generalized scene settings or even auto is actually quite good compared to other cameras i've used over the years.
As for the HD video. I have to agree on that point. There was more that could have been done with it. But you know what? People forget this is a still-shot camera FIRST, and a VIDEO camera SECOND. Video recording is an feature, not a function. You will have less options and control with it. same goes for video cameras that take still shots. Often the MPs are lower, and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. The only exceptions are some of the DSLRs with video features, but smooth zooming is often a problem for most people with those. Solution? If you want great HD video recording, get a video camera. There's nothing easier than that.
Battery life is acceptable and about average compared to other model cameras, but if you plan on taking out for an entire day, I suggest picking up a second battery as a back-up. Being forced to use the LCD screen for everything drains the battery fast, but it does have an auto shut-off to conserve energy. While some people don't use it, i will would have liked to have had a view finder, however the lack of one in now way kept me from buying this camera.
Be weary of putting a screen protector on the back. Unless you get one from Canon meant for this model camera, or from an authorized Canon dealer, you can damage the screen. Having a screen protector can interfere with the touch-screen interface.
This isn't the Magic Hat of cameras. Everyone is going to have their own personal view on it and find things they love or hate. My suggestion is if you can find a retail store with a working display, go look at it in person first. That's the best way to judge if its going to suit your needs or not. Or if you know someone who happens to have one, even better. I've already gotten some beautiful 16x20 prints, and 18x24 is pretty good too (however at this size, you need to make sure your picture quality is top notch).
If you're using a high ISO setting, or a longer shutter speed, use a tripod- the slightest shake in your shake WILL blur/ghost the image; again, that is something that happens to all cameras. They sell a variety of smaller tripod (the grypton ones are fun and versatile).
Perhaps in the future these limitations will be eliminated, but that remains to be seen.
All in all, I knew what I was getting from this camera. The price is exceptionally reasonable considering all you get. I'm not disappointed by any means, because I figured out very quickly how to manipulate the settings to get better picture than the scene settings could produce. It definitely suits my needs for this category of camera; I really just needed this guy to take around the town and on nights out, because who really wants to tote a DSLR with telephoto lenses or a clunky highzoom to a bar ;)

Canon SX200IS
This is a fabulous camera. Who needs an SLR? This one does everything. The IS is superb. I have taken portraits of people 50 feet away in dimly lit rooms. I use ASA 3200 for a lot of indoor work and get pictures not too noisy that are quite suitable for internet slide shows. I seldom use the flash. Excellent battery life, easy to carry. My only complaint is the time between pictures is a few seconds.

Love the Canon
My husband and I had a Nikon Coolpix until I accidentally put it through the washing machine. We hated out coolpix, so ruining it with the washing machine was a great excuse to get a new camera. After researching different cameras in our price range, we decided on this one. And it's worth the money! We love it. It takes great pictures, is easy to use and we can't find a single thing we don't like about it!

Great camera
Wanted a camera that had more versatility than our little Canon elph but didn't want the bulk of an SLR. This is a great camera. The images are very good but it is the ability to utilize a 12x optical zoom in a very portable size that makes this camera. Am enjoying it very much. Hard to beat a Canon.

BEST Point & Shoot EVER
Camera is the best point and shoot i have ever owned. I have owned two sony P&S and a canon P&S, and by far this is the best. The optical zoom is AMAZING. The 720P HD movie quality is amazing. The problem with the flash popping up is not a problem at all. It isn't even in the way. I was skeptical about people saying there is no zoom while recording a movie. They are WRONG. True, there is no OPTICAL zoom, but there surely is digital zoom, and there is NO problem with that. The digital zoom is VERY adequate. If you want a better camera for videos, go buy a camcorder. This camera is for pictures. The pictures are EXCELLENT!!! The only down side i could say is that the black is more of a dark, dark brown. I wanted a black one, but opted for the blue one, which is VERY nice. BUY THE CAMERA!

I've owned a wonderful Canon camera for a while now(Power Shot SX10IS) but it is big and bulky and not convenient to carry around with me, just in case i need it. I am thrilled with the ease of use and the quality of the pictures it takes. I would definitely recommend this camera to my family and friends.

Review of the Canon A1100IS Digital Camera
After only three months the lens would no longer open. I followed instructions from others on the internet who experienced the same problem. I could not get it open. The camera was like new. I only used it a few times. Never dropped it. Yes, the pictures were good but...a "throw away camera" after only three months!! Too expensive for that! The cost of sending it back for repair exceeded the value of the camera. Check this problem out online BEFORE you spend your money. I will not buy another Canon camera. They're junk!

Wow!
I have had prior Canon products and have always been impressed with their intrinsic value, whether copiers or cameras. This camera does not dissapoint. It's easy to use, has great picture quality and is priced right. This particular one was purchased for my sister-in-law who saw how happy we were with our previous purchase. She is very happy with this camera.

Questions & Answers
Question : Which is the best canon digital camera?
Hey, i recently purchased the Canon digital Elph, and it really sucks at taking pictures. I mean its good overall, but it gets REALLY shaky, and i would prefer something that is very durable. I believe there are certain types of canon cameras that work really well in taking pictures. Not really interested in the whole professional camera's only small digital cameras. What are the good ones? (From canon only)
Answer:
Here, take a look.http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/Actually all Canon cameras can take excellent photos. The user just has to understand the limitations under the conditions they use the cameras."REALLY" shaky shots are caused by using too slow a shutter speed when hand holding the camera. This applies to cameras that cost under $100 to the $8,000 Canon professional DSLR. Changing cameras will not solve this problem. It can be reduced some by buying a camera with built-in image stabilization system

Question : What kind of batteries should be used with Canon Digital camera A 570? Any specific brand?
I have recently purchased Canon A 570 Digital camera. The batteries have gone dead I have replaced the old Panasonic batteries with brand new Duracell battery however the moment I inserted the batteries I get battery low display. Are there any specific brands that we have to purchase and any specific model? Can we use rechargeable batteries?Which recharger should I use? Any specific brand? Please let me know the exact name of the model/brand of batteries.
Answer:
Yes, of course you can use rechargeable batteries. In fact, that's what you SHOULD use. Any good name brand of rechargeable NiMh battery and charger will do. Make sure they are high capacity (something like Energizer 2700mAh or higher).Your camera only uses 2 AA batteries, so make sure you buy 4 batteries and a charger that can charge 4 batteries at a time, so you always have a spare set.To lengthen your battery life, make sure you turn off the LCD in between shots, and also limit the use of the flash, zoom and recording of movies.Make sure you always give the batteries a charge before you plan to use the camera. Especially if you have not used it in a while, because NiMh batteries will discharge at the rate of about 1/2 -1% per day when not used. You can also use Lithium batteries (such as Energizer e2). They are non rechargeable and fairly expensive, but provide a much longer battery life than ordinary batteries. They are perfect as an emergency backup...and the good thing about them is that they do not discharge when not used.good luck...

Question : what is the latest model of canon digital camera and what is diffrences between these ?
i have bought cannos sd 630 . But i know there is latest model of canon digital camera in the market . So i want to know what can i do with my cannos sd 630 and what can't i do ?
Answer:
The Canon SD 630 is a very good compact camera.I don't think you should worry about the other models for now. I would wait till next year to see what is coming out. They are...SD800 IS, 7.1 MP, 3.7x opticalSD900, 10MP, 3x opticalA630, 8MP, 4x optical but larger in sizeThe two SD models just have more megapixels and the newer processor. And the SD630 has the same excellent movie mode...and has a large 3.0" LCD. Just make sure you use a fast SD card.

Question : Canon digital camera and other non canon lens?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT and I was wondering what other kinds of non canon brand lenses can I use with my camera? Currently I use a Canon 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55mm kit lens.
Answer:
Some lenses to consider are those from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. On average, each lens does not do as well as their Canon or Nikon counterparts, but still get the job done. If you want quality, get Canon lenses. If you want a cheap alternative, go to the third party brands. As for specifics, I use a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 at the moment, but am going to upgrade to a 70-200mm VR once I save up enough money. The Tamron is good for the money, but slow to focus. I hear this also plagues the type with the built in motor. The type of lens you want depends on the type of shooting you're going to do. If you shoot landscapes, look into a wide angle lens, such as the Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 17-50mm. For telephoto zoom, the 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron would be a good option. I don't care too much for the Sigma, because there are issues with the outer coating. For portrait work, I've heard good things about the Tamron 90mm macro, or the Sigma 70mm macro. I have not used Tonkina, but some people say they are good, while others do not. I guess the same goes for Sigma, but not so much with Tamron.

Question : Which is better a Sony or a Canon digital camera ?
I'm panning to buy a good digital camera and i'm wondering which is better a sony digital camera or a canon. Do you know any good model to suggest ?
Answer:
Sony tends to be lower end. They're limited on lenses and feel cheap. Sony has been making SLRs since 2006 and Canon since the early 1900s. Who do you think would be better?

Answer:
Sure, you can buy something like the entry level Canon Rebel XSi or XS and will save buy buying only the body. If you want a wide angle lens, you will find the "kit" lens (18-55 mm IS) will give you a decent wide angle view.
