Good small camera
I like this compact camera. I bought this for one of my friend and I heard only good reviews about this camera from him. He liked the quality as well as touch screen feautre.

Great Camera
I am really happy with this camera. It's not a SLR replacement, but is very good and so much more practical in many situations.
I got the camera to take on a backpacking trip because I wanted to go as light as possible-- but still wanted to get good pics. The camera exceeded my expectations and delivered great images. I was really happy with the colors it produced. There are situations that the sharpness is a litte soft-- especially with the zoom and/or if you are trying to crop into the shot tight, but over-all the images are great. The wide angle is awesome!
The touch screen UI worked well and was pretty cool. However-- I found it was quicker to use the dedicated buttons on the right for quicker/tactile access to common features. I love it that this camera still has these buttons compared to the newer model which is all touch-screen.
I was also very happy with the video quality. The 720p clips looks great. I cut them into my 1080i HDV footage and it's hard to tell the difference. Zoom while shooting is digital and should be avoided.
I bought several extra batteries too, but I was pleased that I really only needed one extra as each battery lasted 7 days (about 500 pics) while in the wilderness. NOTE: I used minimal flash and shooting video will zap the battery much faster than pics.
PROS: - Size - Good/Great Images - 24mm wide-angle is great - Fast and accurate auto-focus - Nice feature set and shot modes - Touch screen cool, but... - Still has vital physical buttons - LCD is bright/vivid even outside - Custom self timer (with multiple shots)
CONS: - Sharpness with zoom - Touch screen can be accidently activated - Not a SLR replacement (but fits in my pocket)

Nice Features, takes time to get use to functions menu
Likes: wide angle lens, size, wt.
Dislikes: controls are different from earlier models. Not as easy or intuitive.
You can use the screen glass like an iPhone butt sort of.

Canon Power Shot DS 980 IS
This camera is amazing. It has no flaws, it is just perfect. Easy to use, stunning functions, lots of features. Everything that I would ever want. Touch screen options is fantastic. It might be a little complicated for those who are used to cheaper and much less sofisticated cameras.I have a dougbt that those who write bad reviews have no idea how to use good quality cameras. I would recommend to buy this digital camera not only my friends but everyone who is looking for something different and better than anything else that is out there. Canon has proved itself once again. I love high end technology and this camera could easily meet those requiremnets. Love, Love, Love. You won't be dissapointed. The pictures as well as video is truely fantastic quality. Only thing is that it might require several hours to get used to it. I would ask incompetent people to keep their reviews for themselves. Please do not mislead others with your absurd opinions.

Owning the right item and getting it at the right place
This canon camera is easy to use and produces a quality picture. I have had a canon camera for years but this one is by far the best. And above all it was not as expensive as the others I have owned. And this version does much more then the others.I wish I had known about it earlier but it took a friend to point me in the right direction.I tried to purchase the camera at a store but I could not get the one I wanted so I went to online purchasing and used Amazon.com because I knew I could get what I wanted and without any difficulty.

Picture the fun you'll have with Canon's SX200IS digital camera. It's equipped with an impressive array of automatic photo-taking features, including a stunning, wide-angle 12X optical zoom and HD movie capture. One-year warranty. Model SX200IS.
Customer Review :
Great for the Price and Capabilities
1. Big LCD (3 inches) 2. Very sturdy construction (run over by a car and the only damage is some scratches on the metal backplate. I don't recommend this... I only found this out by accident, heh) 3. 12x optical zoom that goes up to 48x with digital zoom (still really good photos if you can hold the camera really still. Image stabilization helps with this) 4. Good picture quality (not GREAT pictures but good ones. Not the crispest pictures around, which is apparent once you select the "actual size" option on your PC. You also see some softening at the edges) 5. Manual mode (shutter speed ranges: 15"-1/3200; aperture ranges: f3.4-f8.0. Shutter speed can be set to 1/3200 BUT you'll almost never end up using this option as the aperture only opens as wide as f3.4 so you'll almost always get extremely underexposed photos. The light meter assists in helping you select the aperture and shutter speed but in my opinion, it's best to let the Auto and scene modes handle the aperture and shutter speed.) 6. Lots of neat little features that aren't unique to this camera but are nice to have (facial recognition, lots of scene presets, picture stats, etc) 7. HD 720p video capture capability (excellent quality. 1280x720 resolution) 8. Looks good and a bit chunky but that's fine... I like my 12x optical zoom 9. $264 at time of purchase (pretty good price for a camera with so many features)
Not the most comprehensive review out there but I hope this helps :)

This is the One!! Canon SX200IS
I read reviews and comparisons for several months before purchasing the SX200IS. Save yourself the trouble and get this one before it goes away. I like it way better than the 210 which is already marketed as its replacement. (Mine is red, and it's a nice dark maroon.) Until Canon replaces the SX20IS and includes a larger sensor (as in the Sony NEX3/5), there is no reason to go with a larger body camera with the small sensor used in most point and shoots. I almost bought the SX20IS, but realized I should wait for the larger sensor. Until then, I am even happier with this camera that I expected to be. The 12x optical zoom, including wide angle in this small a body is an excellent compromise. For some BACKGROUND PERSPECTIVE: Consider that I have been taking pictures for over 50 years, including the last 40 with two Canon FT-QL SLRS with all the appropriate lenses, and a Sony DSC-85 for the last 10. The Canon SX200IS allows me to do anything (and more) I could do with the SLRs and four lenses from 28mm to 400mm (560mm on the SX200IS), all in one package that fits in my pocket! The ten years from the Sony 3.3 MP to the 12 MP Canon also gave me a great leap in image quality. Leaving the image quaility on the highest setting gives photos of about 3.5 MB each. That's plenty of data for editing, cropping, printing or projects (like photo books), and everyone that looks at my photos is amazed at the color and quality of the images. I have had the SX200 for about two months (an early Fathers Day gift to myself) and have taken about 400 photos (not counting any I have deleted), mostly on Auto, including a wedding reception and a military funeral. I already made four photo books, and they all turned out very well. READ THE User's Manual, and then read it again!! I'm still learning more cool stuff this camera will do. BTW, my camera included a small format copy of the manual (Canon reads these reviews, I guess), but I had already downloaded it from the Canon website and had it printed and bound in large format, so the small copy stays in my bag with the camera. That's the other thing, this camera goes everywhere I go, since it's small enough to fit in one of the pockets of my shoulder bag that I take to work and in the car on weekends. I like the ability to control exposure and focus myself, and I am still learning all the various options. If you just want to turn it on and take great pictures, don't worry about it. Just do it, and you'll be happy. The videos are great too, BTW! The pop up flash is NOT an issue. Your left hand first finger gets used to the notch behind it, so you forget it very quickly. Quality, Solid construction! Nice finish.

Good camera.
This camera has met or exceeded all expectations. It's very easy to use and so far has been problem free. The captured images are top notch. A professional photographer or someone who is extremely particular about one small feature or another might be able to find a problem, but the average person should be very happy with this camera.

I own this cam for about 2 months, so far, and I love it. It is real japan made, strong and nice. The image quality exceeds my expectations from a little cam and the awesome lens lets me shoot from tele to wide and macro. I am very happy with it. Oh yeh the vide is superb too!

IS works very well, but videos only in QuickTime format
I've had the camera for 3 months now. The IS works very well, both for pictures and video. My only disappointment is the video format: they are saved only in .mov (QuickTime). Compared to the more common .avi or .mp4, the .mov files are large and will not play on a Windows computer unless QuickTime is installed.

Great Little-Big Camera
The only thing little about this camera is its outside dimensions. It takes high resolution photos and videos, it is packed with features. Has a huge viewing screen. It's so simple to use, all three of my children (7yrs to 12 yrs) and wife immediately took to it.

With the SD940IS, Canon has lost it's way
I bought this to replace a 3 year old SD1000 with the hopes that another generation of DIGIC processors would improve upon the excellent SD1000. Boy was I wrong. I should have listened to others who have said that Canon has lost it's way. This camera is very difficult to work with to get a good exposure - like a difficult to use SLR, you need to be aware of the lighting conditions and the limitations and quirks of the camera to take a good picture, you can't just point and shoot and feel confident that you've captured the moment. I found myself shooting a large number of photos and fiddling between the fully auto and the manual mode to understand when to use each. The fully auto mode is able to take some very interesting pictures that I was unable to reproduce in manual mode, for example taking a picture from inside a room of the view outside a window - in auto mode it is actually able to expose both the indoor and outdoor elements. However when outdoors the auto mode consistently produces overexposed and washed out photos. Perhaps the most telling sign is that I actually lost the camera during a trip overseas and did not mourn the loss at all - in fact a felt a sense of relief that I wouldn't have to live with it.
Other annoyances, the black paint chips fairly easily, the power button is hard to find, and it is nearly impossible to hold this camera without partially blocking the flash, which results in large dark areas in indoor photos.
Like a rookie QB with a great arm, this camera had flashes of greatness, but also demonstrated spectacular failures in simple situations and overall was a lot of work to live with. After 8 years of faithfully using Canon Elph digital cameras I'll be looking to other manufacturers now - it was nice knowing you Canon. Buyers be warned - STAY AWAY!

Canon PowerShot SD940 IS
I did a lot of research and purchased, and returned, two other camera before I found the SD940 IS to be the one. I am extremely nearsighted and the 2.7" screen was better than the 3" widescreen on the SD980 IS. This camera is perfect in every way. It embodies just the right stuff!! Other camera, more expensive and some not, had too much unnecessary features. I wanted a camer that had some weight to it, took great pictures, great video and was compact. This camera fit the bill and was perfect for me. I recommend this camera to those who want a great digital camera with simplicity, yet a lot of camera.

Great camera, with limitations
I bought this camera for a family member, but I borrowed it for about 500 pictures on a recent trip to Nicaragua. I have an older Canon SD870 which I dearly love, but I thought I would like the smaller size of SD940 and it has HD video. The picture quality is up to normal Canon standards... no complaints there. Time-to-start-up, battery life are all excellent. But I have two complaints: (1) Even though I think I have normal size hands, the buttons (particularly the power and shutter release on the top) are just too far recessed to be accessed easily, and without looking. On the flip side, my Canon SD870 is just the opposite - it's too easy to accidentally power on the camera. And (2) Canon replaced one of the dedicated thumb wheel selectors... the shooting mode. I like to easily be able to select Continuous Mode. When you need it, you need it right away, and you don't have time to plow thru menus. For that reason alone this camera will not be replacing my SD870. If that's not important to you then you'll love this camera.

Canon PowerShot SD4000IS Digital ELPH (Red)
Customer Review :
Amazing!
First, when I was going through so many camera options with the salesman, it came down to two, and this Canon ended up being the chosen one. As the options being in silver, black and "Ferrari" red as the man put it, I went with red. I do believe, this is the camera version of the flashy car.
Cons: It's a bit loud. To erase photos takes multiple clicks and gets rather annoying. I'm not convinced the battery life is quite the best. (But then again, I was taking way too many photos and having too much fun with the features.)
Pros: I have a Nikon DSLR which I love and take everywhere, but needed to replace my point and shoot. I needed something that had a high ISO, quick shooting, great with low lighting, bursts of flash and the ability to capture vibrant colors.. I take concert photography and it's hard to find a point and shoot with a high zoom, and can perfect all of the above.
This camera has the ability to capture great action in low lighting and bright colors. I've only had it for a few days but I am floored with the capabilities this tiny camera possesses. A great feature it has is the multiple shots that are so quick it almost seems like you are taking video- great for sports. It also has the ability to capture even the tiniest details such as fibers on a pillow.
I'm sure upon spending more time with this Canon I will be able to explore more of the features. (i.e. Fish lens, color swapping, etc) Once I go through the whole manual I am sure I will only love it more. If you had one camera to rely to take your backstage access experience at concerts, this is it. (Or any valuable events you want to capture.)
I highly recommend this camera to anyone. However, you will have to spend sometime reading over the manual to understand everything which will take time. This camera will go with me everywhere.

80% of photos were blurry
Just bought this camera and had the same problem as other reviewers -- about 40% of the 300 photos I took at a wedding this past weekend were blurry. I mean most were unrecognizably blurry. The autofocus was horrible in everything but the best light. My old Canon sd1000 beat this camera hands down in its point-and-shoot usability. This one's getting returned ASAP.

Nice but no cigar
Nice camera, takes great pictures and is very easy to carry. Beyond this, I didn't find the bells and whistles to be much of an improvement over the five-year-old Canon digital camera it replaced. In my mind, no company's digital products deserve ratings of four or five stars (out of five) without providing a manual. The User Guide for the SD4000IS is 166 pages and the Software Guide 60 pages. There may be another way to do it, but I need a manual as I learn the system, and I don't want to be tethered to the PDF file computer. My solution--print out both manuals, add them to a folder and keep it close at hand. "Going green" is Canon's explanation, as they force me to print 200+ pages of manual.

Very Good Small Digital Camera
I purchased this camera to take with me on vacation so I wouldn't have to carry my Rebel Xti, this camera fit into my small purse. I was very impressed with the quality of day and night/inside pictures this camera took. I have had other small digital cameras that took good daytime pictures but the night/inside were not very good. I also was very happy with the zoom range for such a small camera, we went to a Yankees Baseball Game and sitting in left field I could get good pictures of the players batting.

A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!
I had a couple of older model Canon Elph's, and wanted to upgrade thinking new had to be better. This camera just did not live up to expectations, or what was promised by Canon. First and foremost, I got a lot of odd looking colors in my shots. Some looked fine, but others looked "cartoonish". I was using the complete auto mode, so it's not like I had the wrong settings picked. I mean I would hand the camera to a friend, they'd look at the screen and say "why does she look like a cartoon in this one?" Just not natural and not appealing. I also experienced autofocus issues where more shots were blurry than with my previous Elph. The lack of sharpness was a big issue on most prints. Just too soft and fuzzy. I agree with taking 14 megapixels and going down to 10 to make the photos easier to handle and store, but not when it affects picture quality to this degree. Maybe 12 was a safer number. Still, 10 megapixels and you can't get a nice sharp 4x6 print out of it? That just shouldn't be happening. As far as video goes, I also had a focus issue at times with a moving object. My son was running around the backyard catching lightning bugs and I lost the focus a number of times and had to move the camera around to jar it back into clarity. All in all, I'd pass on this one.

Taking your digital photography beyond the "norm", the Canon PowerShot A495 RE offers Super Vivid and Poster Effect modes, allowing you to capture images with exceptionally vivid colors, or a high-contrast, graphic look. And that's in addition to 16 other automatic shooting modes. Capture all your shots with stunning detail and brilliant color thanks to a 10.0-megapixel capture resolution and the DIGIC III image processor. Finally, because the A495 is fueled by a pair of AA batteries, you never have to stop to recharge.

Rating :
Save up and buy something slightly more expensive
The overall quality of this camera is good, however, I have had nothing but frustration since I began using this. First of all, with nearly every picture that you take using the flash, following the actual picture taking, the LCD display goes black for several seconds and gives you a message that it is charging the flash.
Second, the camera will take its time focusing in and finding the right levels of focus and clarity for the picture that you are trying to take. When it does allow you to take your photo, a review of the photo on both the LCD and later on a PC will often reveal that the picture you just took is blurry and out of focus.
In conclusion, this camera is too much high maintenance for a simple point-and-shoot camera. I have two small kids, and when I want to catch them at a particular moment to take a picture, every second is essential. Between waiting for the flash to charge and then the camera to focus, and then followed by pictures that come out with little quality, the money spent on this camera is not an investment in memories as it should be, but rather an investment in frustration.

Would have loved it, but battery life is AWFUL.
Sorry to say, this is my 1st negative review of a product on Amazon and I hate to do it, however I would not be able to recommend this camera model to anyone! (I have had Canon Powershots in the past that I loved, too.)
I bought this camera and immediately fell in love. It was easy to use, took great macro and regular shots, and was just an overall wonderful camera! That was until the batteries started going out after about taking 50 shots with it. No flash was being used at all, it was only in macro mode. And this happened repeatedly no matter what batteries I used. I have at least 4 different sets of rechargeable AA's that I have used successfully with my other camera. They would last forever in that one, but not in this camera! You get about 50 shots and that's it. Basically this makes this camera completely USELESS for me. I have an online business that requires me to take many shots to weed out the best ones to use - and needless to say after going through 4 different sets of batteries within 15 minutes time after time has made me furious. I am going to return this camera today, garbage!!

Questions & Answers
Question : how to know whether a canon digital camera have a bluetooth option or not?
and how to know the model no. of a digital canon camera,by seeing that. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
Answer:
I don't think canon or any other camera has bluetooth but they might have something like wireless file transferring from camera to computer.

Question : Where can I get a nifty screen protector for my Canon digital camera?
A friend told me that they make those plastic protector things (that adhere just with static electricity) for digital camera screens so you don't scratch them. he said you can get them specifically for your make and model so they fit perfectly. I have a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. Where can I find a protector for it?
Answer:
If you chose to go with the plastic protectors go to Walmart and by the targus at 2.79 than cut them by yourself. There are 4 in the box so if you make a mistake just throw it and cut a new one.If you chose to go with a custom made one made of glass be ready to spend around 30 dollars. Is it worth it for a camera that cost 240? Your call, I chose the Targus for my G10.

Question : Canon digital camera and other non canon lens?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT and I was wondering what other kinds of non canon brand lenses can I use with my camera? Currently I use a Canon 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55mm kit lens.
Answer:
Some lenses to consider are those from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. On average, each lens does not do as well as their Canon or Nikon counterparts, but still get the job done. If you want quality, get Canon lenses. If you want a cheap alternative, go to the third party brands. As for specifics, I use a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 at the moment, but am going to upgrade to a 70-200mm VR once I save up enough money. The Tamron is good for the money, but slow to focus. I hear this also plagues the type with the built in motor. The type of lens you want depends on the type of shooting you're going to do. If you shoot landscapes, look into a wide angle lens, such as the Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 17-50mm. For telephoto zoom, the 70-200mm f2.8 Tamron would be a good option. I don't care too much for the Sigma, because there are issues with the outer coating. For portrait work, I've heard good things about the Tamron 90mm macro, or the Sigma 70mm macro. I have not used Tonkina, but some people say they are good, while others do not. I guess the same goes for Sigma, but not so much with Tamron.

Question : What kind of batteries should be used with Canon Digital camera A 570? Any specific brand?
I have recently purchased Canon A 570 Digital camera. The batteries have gone dead I have replaced the old Panasonic batteries with brand new Duracell battery however the moment I inserted the batteries I get battery low display. Are there any specific brands that we have to purchase and any specific model? Can we use rechargeable batteries?Which recharger should I use? Any specific brand? Please let me know the exact name of the model/brand of batteries.
Answer:
Yes, of course you can use rechargeable batteries. In fact, that's what you SHOULD use. Any good name brand of rechargeable NiMh battery and charger will do. Make sure they are high capacity (something like Energizer 2700mAh or higher).Your camera only uses 2 AA batteries, so make sure you buy 4 batteries and a charger that can charge 4 batteries at a time, so you always have a spare set.To lengthen your battery life, make sure you turn off the LCD in between shots, and also limit the use of the flash, zoom and recording of movies.Make sure you always give the batteries a charge before you plan to use the camera. Especially if you have not used it in a while, because NiMh batteries will discharge at the rate of about 1/2 -1% per day when not used. You can also use Lithium batteries (such as Energizer e2). They are non rechargeable and fairly expensive, but provide a much longer battery life than ordinary batteries. They are perfect as an emergency backup...and the good thing about them is that they do not discharge when not used.good luck...

Question : How do I upgrade the lens of my canon powershot digital camera?
I have a canon digital camera with a 4x optical zoom. what kind of lens do i look for to upgrade to higher zoom? I am pretty camera dumb but am getting into pics so want a camera that wont get blurry upon getting far a way pics.I found telephoto lenses that are 3x does that mean that my new zoom would be 7x since I already have a 4x or does it replace what the camera already has? This is where I am getting confused.
Answer:
Most cheaper non-DSLR cameras will not allow you to upgrade: the most you could hope to do is get an adapter piece and a telephoto mount for it. This only works if you actually spent good money on that camera, though since most don't afford it. Plus, telephotos are not worth the money if the zoom is that low, so you should just get a new camera in my opinion.Edit: A telephoto will compound with your camera's optical zoom, so 4x3 = 12x zoom. I should warn that most telephotos tend to make it more difficult to hold your camera in a balanced way and usually require their own stands if you want a clean shot.

Question : I am buying a Canon digital camera, which is the best model in the SD line?
I have narrowed my digital camera purchase down to the Canon SD line. I am looking at the 850is, the 750 and the 1000. The 850 and the 750 are very close in price and the 1000 is significantly cheaper. I can't seem to find many differences between the 3 and was wondering if anyone had any experience between any of these? Thanks
Answer:

Question : what is the latest model of canon digital camera and what is diffrences between these ?
i have bought cannos sd 630 . But i know there is latest model of canon digital camera in the market . So i want to know what can i do with my cannos sd 630 and what can't i do ?
Answer:
The Canon SD 630 is a very good compact camera.I don't think you should worry about the other models for now. I would wait till next year to see what is coming out. They are...SD800 IS, 7.1 MP, 3.7x opticalSD900, 10MP, 3x opticalA630, 8MP, 4x optical but larger in sizeThe two SD models just have more megapixels and the newer processor. And the SD630 has the same excellent movie mode...and has a large 3.0" LCD. Just make sure you use a fast SD card.
