The perfect ratio of portability to versatility
I was amazed at the abilities of this camera--it is small enough to be considered compact, but powerfull enough to be considered a super-zoom too. when i load the pictures on to my computer, they are displayed at only 20% of the original size!! that means that these pictures are of amazing quality! i love it! --the only thing i would have to go on about is that you need a steady hand to get that perfect picture; but a simple tripod fixes that easly.-- but even that can be a gain for those who like to mess with the pictures--just swerve the camera while shooting a pic and you have an unfathomable blend of color and texture for those who like experimenting!! OVERALL_ exelente, small, powerfull, versatile, and low in cost. Enjoy!

Shutter lag is a big problem .......
I have used this camera for 2 months. i don't like it that much because of the shutter lag -- you have to wait for appro. 15 sec. for it to save your pictue before you can take the next one. Is it because I am not using a fast memory card or I have chosen the wrong image size? I don't know. Also, zooming is not easy because a little force will yield too much zoom or too little zoom. I haven't developed the images yet, so the quality I rated it 3 stars is by looking on a PC screen. The camera is shaky because of its small size. Luckily the Image Stabilization function corrected it well. I would prefer Canon G series better than this one, although it is more expensive and bulky. I would not recommend this poduct because of the shutter lag!!!!!

My Casio EX-H10 Camera
I love my Casio. It was easy for me to use because this is my third Casio. My first was the EX-Z40 which is 4 megapixels. The second was the EX-Z1050 which is 10 megapixels. With every upgrade I am amazed at the difference for the better the pictures are. I just have to get used to the wide angle the EX-H10 has and the camera is a little bigger than the first two casios I have. I like the slim cameras because I like to take my camera almost everywhere I go and it's easy for me to just slip it in my purse or in my pocket if I have to. So I was kind of disappointed at first, with the camera being bigger than my first 2 casios. But I have since gotten over the disappointment with the great pictures that I have taken. And the movies are of incredible quality for this size of a camera. Just remember to use the wrist strap every time you use your camera, I dropped my second camera and broke the little gadget that holds the battery in and that's why I ended up buying a third camera. But I sent that one to the Time Machine in California and they did a good job fixing it. I actually bought the Samsung SL820 first, as my third camera and was looking forward to using the low light stabilization that it had because I like to take pictures using natural light. But as I was getting used to this camera and trying out all the features and different settings it suddenly went blank and I wasn't even able to turn the camera off I ended up sending it back. I think this may have happened because I didn't format the memory card first. It's important to format the memory card in your camera before you use the camera and memory card for the first time. I ended up getting the Casio EX-H10 instead. And I am trying to use natural light settings with this camera, but they sometimes come out blurry. But I haven't read the whole manual yet and there are alot of different settings so I know I am missing something here. Also I like to take pictures of food that I make because I am writing a cookbook and I noticed that the macro setting does not come out as clear as my Casio EX-Z1050 did. Again I have to read the manual and find out what I am doing wrong. It may have something to do with the wide angle. Because I notice that my non food pictures actually come out sharper and nice when I zoom in on a subject. The 10x Optical Zoom on this camera is amazing. And I love using the zoom for my pictures. I'm getting used to the 24mm Wide Angle, and at first I was hoping there was a setting to change it to regular size. I think for my uses I could have used the option of changing from 24mm Wide Angle to just normal setting especially for my food pictures. So I wish they would have installed an option to do this. But sometimes the wide angle benefits my food pictures as well. I think it is up to me to learn all the features and settings of this camera and I will be satisfied with all my pictures! The flash is amazing with this camera when I do have to use the flash. The flash on the EZ-Z1050 was the only lousy thing about that camera. And for me prefering to use natural light. I usually take a picture with natural light and then with flash. And alot of times the pictures with flash on the EX-H10 are outstanding. Especially the pictures of food for my cookbook, and that I can't understand because the EX-Z1050 took outstanding natural light pictures of my food. But I really love this camera even though I haven't even read and used all the features yet!

Travel with this camera!
You need to give this camera time and learn all the features, it is not the best in its class using just the auto settings but once you learn how to setup the camera and use the features this camera can not be beat for the price. I used this camera off and on for 2 months and then on a 9 day trip taking about 550 pictures all on a single charge! Amazing! It was so nice to not have to worry about battery life while on vacation. No need to pack chargers batteries and cords with this camera. I run it on 8MP and pictures are very nice, I have no need for 12MP as I don't print large photos, again like all Casio cameras there are a lot of settings, take time to try them all and learn what this camera can do, in the beginning I thought the camera was OK, good for the price, now I LOVE this camera. People on vacation look at the detail in photos captured and keep asking what kind of camera it is. I researched cameras in this range for weeks before buying and the price increase to go with the Panasonic - which gets many complaints on battery life made the final decision on the EX-H10. Get a jobby tripod if you plan to use 10x zoom a lot but the anti shake and blur detection settings really makes getting clear shots simple.

Casio's EX-G1 is designed with style and endurance to last the elements of the ages, and the lifestyle elements of endurance - shock, dirt, humidity, temperature, snow, water proof. With the EX-G1, users can take powerful time lapse photography, the kind which is usually almost impossible to capture. The shooting interval can be set at 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 3 minutes, and the capture time for movies may be set at 3, 10, 20, or 30 minutes, enabling users to get great shots when an event changes over time such as in nature, science, and even sports.
Customer Review :
What you read is what you get
The EX-G1 is everything that the product overviews say that it is, nothing more. It looks and feels great, is smaller than I imagined, easy to use, etc. The picture quality is fine/fair/solid. Make sure that when you get this the digital zoom is a non-factor, because you cannot use it - the pictures become sooo grainy with even the slightest digital zoom. The nice thing is that you can take shots and zoom in later on your computer since you've got the quality of a 12.1 MP image.
I am very happy with the EX-G1 for the situations that I bought it for. I use a DSLR for almost all of my photos, but I wanted a compact camera to use when out with friends or hiking/mountain biking. The EX-G1 even threw in the ability to use when canoeing/boating/swimming so the outdoors uses are amazing as long as you arent trying to capture a HQ landscape shot.
The only other problem i have with the Casio EX-G1 at the moment (3/13/2010) is that I cannot find the Casio accessories that are listed on the G1's website. The lanyard/carabiner and the Casio float strap have been impossible to find anywhere online!

If only it were JUST A LITTLE BETTER !!!
It's great having a 'real' camera (not a cellphone) that I can just have with me. I've got other cameras but they're just too clunky to have with me all the time.
Pictures are of SURPRISINGLY GOOD QUALITY for a camera of this size! Of course it does better outdoors than indoors with flash.
Battery compartment: you'll need better fingernails than mine. A ridiculous oversight.
Battery won't charge when hooked to PC. Not a major thing but it means removing the battery every time - not easy.
OVERALL: RECOMMENDED - Good for what it is - but Casio engineers dropped the ball on a couple of items that should've been easy to address.

Great little camera
This is one cool camera. I have a Cannon that I carry with me all the time and a Nikon for more professional shoots. I bought this camera for its waterproof feature mainly. Since purchasing, I have walked in a blizzard and took pictures I normally would not have been able to take. I Love the ability to take pictures/videos at intervals, this is the second reason I bought this camera. I clamped this sweet little camera on top of my truck one day and forgot about it. I had it set to take picturs every 5 minuets until the card was full. It was also a very rainy days. I must amit...I got a lot of crappy pics...but, I also got some pretty cool shots. To sum up, this camera is a good choice for getting shots you might not normally get...like walking into the ocean, or the rain/snow or even a dust storm. Buy this camera and have some fun!

An improvement of Stylus
We have been using an Olympus Stylus for a couple of years. Took this one on a snowboarding trip. Snapped about 400 photos, mostly outside. All but a few turned out beautiful. Sharp and detailed. Dropped, covered with snow and got wet.... kept going. Only thing I hate is the time taken with the microSD and the darn battery door. Other than that, very nice. 4 1/2 stars.

Casio tech support doesn't know their cameras.....
I got this camera for $74.95 at Amazon during the holidays. It doesn't have panoramic, like the nikon s220. Photo quality seems to be roughly on par with those of the nikon, as I compare photos taken with both cameras.
I'm no photog nut. I just want a simple camera.
One thing both the nikon and the casio have are best shot settings, which supposedly have settings optimized for night shooting, magazines, etc.
The nikon's best shot modes are a little better than those for exz33. Shots taken on the casio in best shot mode come out blurred, underexposed, etc.
On the "night scene" best shot setting, the flash doesn't come on (??) I called casio a month ago. The first rep automatically said that there was something wrong with the camera and I'd have to send it in for repairs.
I called back in again, and the 2nd rep did a bit more troubleshooting. She said she had the exact camera model on hand, and guided me step by step. End result, on my camera, the flash still didn't come on, but she claimed one her camera, for the night scene mode, the flash did come on.
Well, on the strength of that, I exchanged my camera and had Amazon send me another one.
In the meantime, while waiting for the camera, I went to Target and tried a working display casio camera. It was a different 'ex' model, but had the same options. Lo and behold, in the night mode, the flash didn't come on!
When I got my replacement camera, I tried the night mode, and no flash, as before.
I even bought another exz33 from Walmart, and tried that, with the same result.
The thing is, in the auto mode, the flash comes on, and everything works just fine. Even in the best shot setting, "night scene portrait", the flash comes on.
At this point, I decided to call casio again, and explained to them that, having tried at least 3 exz33's, I got the same result, and it's unlikely that I'd get 3 random defective cameras. I also told her I got the same result on another model of 'ex' camera.
She couldn't tell me anything aside from telling me to send it in.
Obviously, her tty terminal didn't have any other recommendation.
These people don't know their cameras from their calculators.
In the meantime, I've decided to hang on to my casio, because in the auto mode, everything works like a charm. I'll just steer clear of the Best Shot settings, because the results are the same across ALL of the casios I've tried, blurred and underexposed.
The nikon is at least $29 more, and the $74.95 price tag is as cheap as I'm likely to get. Already, the price of the exz33 is $92.95 at Amazon. At this price point, I recommend getting a nikon s220. I don't know if nikon's tech support is a clueless as casio's.
Bottom line, don't expect much from casio's tech support.

Great camera for the price and durable
I bought the camera for my second deployment to Iraq in 2007 and it's still going strong. Image quality is awesome for what you pay for. Battery life is long enough to not have to recharge for 2 weeks. I can't complain except for I won't use it much since i have an SLR but whenever I go out I throw it in my backpack and it always comes in handy.

Works well for the price
This is a cheap portable digital camera, and when you buy it expect it to perform as such. It takes great pictures in the sun, or bright indoors, but struggles like most cheaper models in lower light conditions. When you use the flash the colors always are off, and if you don't use the flash (when it is not naturally bright enough) things get blurry. All that being said. Its cheap, portable, high-quality (when conditions are right) camera. If you want to spend <100 on a camera this is a great choice. I am satisfied with it.

Piece of junk. Avoid Casio cameras
Had this camera a couple of months before it broke. When I turned it on the lens came out crooked and the camera wouldn't work. Since it was comfortably under warranty I sent it to Casio, which in turn sent me a repair bill for $94--$10 more than I paid for the camera--with no explanation. The camera was never mistreated, but I sure feel like I was. They even wanted $10 to return the broken camera if I didn't want it repaired. I told them to keep it since the photo quality was never that great to begin with and the control buttons are way too small for human fingers. I understand that inexpensive cameras sometimes break but we have every right to expect the manufacturer to honor its warranty if said camera breaks within the warranty period. So, no more Casio products for me. My Canon Elph has been providing trouble-free service for 4 years. It cost more than twice as much as this Casio piece of junk but you really do get what you pay for.

Amazing Little Camera
This is a well-constructed, intuitive, fun camera. If all it did was slo-mo, it would be worth 250 bucks. But it does a lot more. No, it's not DSLR quality pics, but it's not $1200, either. My 70 year old mother would have no use for it, because it has too many bells and whistles. But if you're a bit of a gadget nut, you'll enjoy the heck out of this camera. My favorite feature is switching between 30 and 310 FPS on the fly; you can make some compelling videos which people really seem to enjoy watching. There's a new model coming out in April/May, and I'll probably get that one too. It'll be 10x zoom instead of 5x, and 10MP instead of 9. It's gonna be $100 more. But there's nothing wrong with this one, if you can't wait.

Great if you intent to use it for a toy.
This is a great toy camera. Great for those of use with big shooters that needed a neat little toy. Some of the shots this thing has pulled off are amazing. The IS is subpar and the picture quality is pretty bad, but that isn't this camera's forte. The high speed capabilities of this thing are amazing. A few months back I had my big canon out at the NHRA nationals but was getting miffed at missing the launch shot. I wanted the perfect shot seeing the sidewall buckle at 8000+ horsepower of top fuel madness. But I missed it every time even with 3.5FPS, I'd either blur it from too small of F and too slow of shutter, or just flat out miss the shot. I thought for a second and whipped my little toy out putting it at 30 fps 15 before and 15 after press and guess what? Time and time again I got the perfect shot that I was looking for. Yes it is grainy, and yes the IS is really bad, but seeing about 12 frames of the launch was simply amazing. I then noticed a helicopter coming in and set it to 30-210fps high speed video and took a great video of the bird coming in. It was so fast that not only was the main rotor slowed enough to see, but even the tail rotor was caught in action. I took another video of a moutain dew bottle as one of the cars came by and it was awesome to see the liquid dancing from the vibrations of from the top fuel monsters.
Please do not think of this in terms of megapixels, while it may have 9.1mp active if you want the IS to work well you set it at 6. If you want the high speed you set it at 6. Even at 9mp my ancient Canon 6mp 300d could outshoot this thing in terms of quality(I have a T1i these days), but that's not what this camera is about.
If you want a tiny camera look elsewhere. If you want a great shooter, then look elsewhere. If you want a fun camera that you can throw in your pocket that takes reasonable pictures while being a tad porky, then this is for you.
Personally I love it!

Great for high speed, bad for stills
I bought this because I had an exilim that I loved a few years back.
This camera's construction is a little flimsy (although it's pretty light, especially considering the amount of kit they squeezed into it) and still photos didn't really impress me. I wound up returning it for a Lumix DMC-ZS3 that I love.
Other comments about the casio:
It can effectively take a multiple exposure, which is cool, but the tech still isn't quite good enough to mimic film, so if you don't have the right conditions, the multiple exposure looks a lot like a digital camera failing to mimic film... think chunky bytes that don't look anything close to what you saw when you took the picture.
It has some great settings where you can set it to automatically start shooting high speed video as soon as the subject (i.e. a bird) enters the frame, and it has a button that temporarily records a few seconds of whatever the lens is picking up, then plays it back to you in slow motion so you can snap the shutter at the optimal point. These features are great for nature photography or if you find yourself taking photos of, say, a dolphin doing tricks at seaworld, but in the unit I bought, the still photo quality was poor, which was a deal-breaker for me.

Best little camera
This has to be my best camera ever. I carry it everywhere in my computer case (small enough), and it takes great pictures. The high speed feature works great (still and video). I am amazed at the versatility of this camera at this price and it is so much fun. The fact that I can take photos in low light conditions without using the flash makes it so versatile for me. I recommend this camera to everybody!

Questions & Answers
Question : how do i make my pictures look better with a casio exilim digital camera?
I just go this new digital camera from casio. but when i take pictures they backround light seems to be a little darker and the persons face looks red or like there is to much light.
Answer:
There is more to photography than "point" and "shoot".The more you learn about it (via books and tutorials), the more you are able to figure out why something doesn't look right and what to do about it.Start with your manual - read it, then practice. Read it again, practice some more. Experiment and pay attention to what worked and what didn't.Your little camera has big limitations, but can still take decent photos as long as the light is good. It is up to YOU to get the most out of it.

Question : I have a trouble shooting question on the Casio Exilim Digital Camera about focus?
I've got a problem on Casio Exilim Digital Camera. My camera suddenly can not use any focus system. It looks everything a bit out of focus and even it's out of focus when I use the Manual focus too. I guess the main problem is focus system or might be the setting. Is there any way I can solve that problem? Thanks
Answer:
you most likely dropped it. if you did and the lens doesnt move, not even retract when u turn it off, then its broken..buy a new one

Question : What is the best way to buy a casio digital camera?
I have seen ones that don't use flash and the pics look great. Can you suggest a model ,etc.
Answer:
I would recommend Canon PowerShot SD990IS (a good 14.2 mpx camera, just 350$, read the review: http://shortcamerareviews.com/canon-powershot-sd990is-digital-camera-review/).Or if you're looking for something cheaper, check the A1000IS, just 150$ (read the review: http://shortcamerareviews.com/canon-powershot-a1000is-digital-camera-review/)

Question : Does anyone know where I can find a new usb cable for my Casio Exilim EXZ75 digital camera?
I recently lost the usb cable for my Casio Exilim EXZ75 digital camera. Someone told me to get a card reader. Does a card reader work the same way? Which is better an usb cable or card reader?
Answer:
The USB cable applicable to your camera is proprietary. You can search the internet to find it, but contacting Casio is the easiest. Expect to pay $40+ for a new cable.Even better, just grab a card reader. It does almost everything. In terms of transferring photos, it works better (they're faster). If you want the advanced software upgrade features, or want to download images from the internal memory then you will need the cable. Note that software updates are not recommended to be taken on my novices and internal memory images can be copied to a memory card in the camera.Where to find a card reader? Well your computer might already have it. HP/Compaq has had them for a while on many models. If your computer has it, it will be on the front of your computer and one will be markes SD.If your computer doesn't have it, buy one. They start at around $15 at local stores and can be as low as $2 on http://dealextreme.com (expect to wait 4-6weeks for shipping and questionable quality). You want an SD card reader, but a multi-reader can't hurt. It'll plug into any USB port.

Question : How do you transfer pictures or videos to your comp from a digital camera? Casio Ex-Z300 Exilim?
I have a Casio EX-Z300 EXILIM and i'm having a hard, REALLY hard time to transfer the pictures and videos to my computer. With other cameras i usually drag the picture files from the "DCIM" folder on a camera but when i do the same thing with this camera, it WONT transfer. Any ideas, plz help me.
Answer:
Do you have the camera connected to the computer? or are you using a card reader? You should be able to drag the files from the DCIM folder, but if not, you may need to copy and paste them, or use the software provided with the camera. If you are using a card reader, again, you should be able to drag the files, but try hitting copy and paste instead. When you try dragging the files, do you get an error message? Or can you not get to this stage of the process?Sorry I can't help more without more info.

Question : Where on the internet can I download the installment stuff for my casio digital camera?
It's a Casio Exilim 6.0 megapixel or this bad boy :p (http://www.digitalcamerareview.com/assets/6482.jpg). I've had it for a couple years and out of nowhere it won't let me download pictures off of it. It says it "doesn't recognize" it. I was thinking maybe I needed to re-install it. But I lost the disk.

Question : can I charge casio digital camera with li-ions batteries i bought here in europe?
america and europe have different standarts in electricity, europe has 220 volts. i'm afraid i'll need to buy a transformator for charging my camera in europe, but i really don't know. model of camera is casio exilirim p505.
Answer:
Most Casios sold in recent years, including yours, will charge with the U.S. standard 110-120 volts OR with the European 220-240 volts. Just to be certain, look at the charger. There should be specs regarding the voltage it will handle. If it says 220-240, you're in business. All you'll need is an adapter to be able to use the European outlets. Radio Shack and other electronics and camera stores sell them. They're not expensive. Be sure to tell them where you're going because there are a couple of different plugs. The UK is different from most of the countries on the continent, for example. Some stores sell a kit that will fix you up for all of the common outlets. That should be it. Have a good trip!
