| Editorial Review :
This ultra-chic camera kicks off with a smooth and curvy metallic surface, perfect for any locations or trendy scenes. This superb masterpiece is created with a combination of 10 megapixel shooting and 3x optical zoom furnished with Picture Stabilization / Anti-blur shooting modes. With the newly evolved SR AUTO (Scene Recognition Auto) and face detection, scenes and faces can be captured and optimized even more with these detection functions. The advanced face detection functions can simultaneously recognizes up to 10 faces in a single photo. Share your group portraits using the “Zoom Up” function in playbacks, checking each detected face. The Z30 even corrects red-eyes while playing back close-ups and detected faces. Indoors, at night, or in the midst of fast-moving action; high sensitivity (ISO 1600) makes it easy to take bright, clear photos regardless of the conditions. Picture Stabilization / Anti-blur Mode automatically corrects for camera shake and subject blur, helping you to capture fleeting moments in crisp stop-action with background detail intact. The One-Touch-Movie button is just for shooting movies! No settings. Just press, shoot, and enjoy the movie. Successive Movie allows you to select any previously recorded movie file and "resume" shooting to create a movie up to 60 seconds long. After you take a clip, just set the "In and "Out" points to crop and save only the part you want. It's that easy.

Wish I liked it
I always had a high opinion of Fuji products and maybe it's me. I want to like this camera. Nice size / design is fine. But I NEVER know if my pictures will be good or not. It's like a 50/50 chance. If I just use automatic and point and shoot, SOMETIMES I get a great picture, but more often than not it is grainy and a horrible quality that I wind up not even keeping. I wish I knew if it is something I'm doing wrong, but I am NOT at all new to picture taking and usually pride myself on being a pretty good photographer - get lots of compliments on my pictures. I also have a Kodak Easy Share - but it is a larger camera and with it I get excellent pictures almost 100% of the time. Again this one - maybe 20% the picture is good. If I could just figure out what is making it grainy and blurry, I'd be very happy but for now I simply could NEVER recommend this camera to someone. I think there are much better ones for same price range no doubt.

Good but could be better
Hi! I recently purchased the camera and I can tell you that the product is good for the price that you are paying. There are some things that aren't as good as I'd want to, like the night pictures and the time it takes to shoot. Anyway, if you need a simple, nice and not advanced machine, I believe this one is just ok.

Don't condeme Fuji or Amazon.
A Amazon email landed me on the Fuji Z30. I checked the reviews and I always read the worst one first. And then a few of the "good" ratings reviews. Well after a lifetime in professional photography and 10 years retail cameras sales, this last review is typical. And is way off base. Some one buys a product, it is defective, but do they take it back right away? No they sit on it for 30+ days. Returning two items to Amazon. I followed their return policy and had no problems. I returned ( had in the mail) 2-3 days after I got the items. I purchased knee braces. I ordered one size- too small. The next size was too big. I started amazon's return immediately. Amazon accepted the returns and credited my charge card. What did this experience tell me? Don't order clothing items from on line vendors! It's not Amazon's fault, but my odd size. Now lets talk about Fuji. I have a the Fuji S20 Pro ($1500.00 & a few years old). One day, I pick up the camera and 1/2 of the screen is blank. I called Fuji, not the place I bought it! Fuji said that is sounded like a sensor defect, please send the camera in. I did that. Long story short, Fuji fixed the camera as it was in fact a defect that they took responsibility for. All it cost me was $8 for shipping to Fuji and I had an out of warranty camera repaired at no charge. Now of course this is not the norm for out of warranty repairs, but Fuji could have charged me and I would have not known the difference or they could have told me to "take a long walk on a short bridge". The moral of my story find out the return policy of retailers and follow it quickly. For service try to deal direct with manufacturers. They normally go out of their way to helpful.

Great for its size
I've had very good luck with this little camera. I purchased it because it was so small and would fit in my pocket, out of sight of my 18 month old grandson I recently visited. My second grandson, his brother, was born just two weeks ago and I was hoping to get some great shots of the two of them together. Since it's not good to use a flash around little ones, especially newborns, I turned it off and was surprised at the quality of the indoor photos and videos. Granted, there were a few blurry ones when I didn't wait for the camera to focus first, or he didn't hold still long enough, but the majority were amazing. Outside photos and videos were crisp and clear and the playback on the videos was smooth and synched with the sound. Battery usage was minimal - I spent a week taking picture after picture, video after video and never had to charge the battery. When I got home and checked, it was only one-third used up. Awesome for such a small camera. I had tried the Kodak C180 and couldn't even get the settings adjusted without using a third of the batteries. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this camera. It does a great job as a point-and-shoot, is extremely portable, uses very little battery and takes great videos as well. For the price, it's worth a try.

LOVE IT!!
This camera is amazing, cute and perfect. I have found nothing wrong with it so far. I bought it to have a handy point and shoot camera so I wouldn't have to carry my Rebel into "situations" where it would be bothersome.
The photo quality is great, I haven't printed anything out yet. It does have a manual setting so I can fine tune my pics before using the camera. Alot of the previous reviewers talked about noise in the images, but I have yet to see any of that. Also I don't use the programmed settings and manually set the camera to the ISO, image size, etc.
The battery charger is nice, it's a wall-mount so there are no extra cords to lug around. The battery does have to be removed to be charged, but I don't find this to be annoying at all because this is what I have to do with my Rebel.
I haven't had a chance to use it in the water, and I'm a little hesitant.
The size of the camera is roughly the size of a blackberry, but a little thicker. It fits perfectly in pocket, possibly better than my cell phone does.
I'll update this once I've used my camera more.

It is pretty handy little camera and takes pretty decent pictures overall. It just really stinks that you have to take the battery out to charge it. The flash works great but sometimes is a little over powering and it's hard to find the right setting where you can see with out it being to dark or to washed out. but overall a really good little camera.

I don't know why some complained about the battery life because i went two days straight on my cruise using this camera at eh beach, snorkling, sitting around the pool, and used it at night and it barely was on half of a battery after that. I used it everyday of my cruise in all situations and this camera was excellent in any condition. It took GREAT underwater photos, never leaked, and was easy to operate underwater. We brought our $300 Canon with also, and never ended up using it at all because this camera took great pics on land and the ship as well. It has really easy modes for those who don't understand cameras for instance it has and Underwater mode, a Beach mode, a Night mode, Landscape, and even a Party mode. This was a great camera and super cheap for what it does!

I LOVE this camera!
For the current amazon price ($106 USD), this item is a steal! I bought this camera because I wanted to take underwater pictures for a vacation in Hawaii. Since I was experimenting with underwater photography, I did't want to spend too much - just in case, this didn't work out. But it turns out, I had nothing to worry about! I just returned from Hawaii. Most of my trip (1 week long) was spent by the beach or in the water. This camera was so durable and easy to use. I took over 600 pictures (using a separately purchased 8 GB memory card) and the camera battery only needed recharging 1x the whole trip! All of my friends were awed by the camera and are planning to get one for themselves.
I looked at some of the other reviews on here. A small number commented that they did not like the picture quality. I personally find it fanatastic. The picture quality setting can be changed from 10 MB down to much less, as needed. I kept my setting at 10 MB. The pictures when transferred onto my computer looked great and were comparable to other camera pictures of the same type but different brand (Nikkon, Sony, Cannon). (My house owns a lot of cameras.) The waters in Maui were generally very clear, but even so it was necessary to hold the camera close in order to get good shots under water. I would estimate the camera has a 3 ft visibility range under regular salt water. Even with this range, I was able to get clear shots as long as I held the camera close to the subject matter. I bet visibility would improve in pool water or truly clear water. (I'm a little jet lagged now so I may upload my pics at a later date.)
I also noticed that a few people claimed the camera did not work and broke. I can only comment according to my personal experience. According to the instructions, you have to make sure that the battery slot & memory card slot clicks closed. Just slide the slot until you hear a faint noise. The inside of the camera obviously is not waterproof, just the outside is coated with some material to help keep water out. The casing must be closed tight to prevent water from seaping into the electronics.
Also, a few people mentioned the shutter delay. There is a fraction of a second delay, but I find that unless you get a SLR you will probably experience delay in most handheld digital point and shoots. The delay is comparable to other cameras of a similiar type, and in general, I would say somewhat better if not on the same level with most other point and shoots.
This is overall a great light weight little camera, especially given the price. If you want to take fun vacation photos and not have to worry too much about theft or water damage, I would buy and have bought this camera. I LOVE IT! (As you can see from my star rating).

This camera is all that I expected it to be and more. I have owned a Fuji camera before and had it for several years. I was pleased with the old one and even more pleased with the new one. The auto scene recognition feature is a plus for me .I am not that familiar with different scene settings ,so having the camera adjust itself is a good feature for an amatuer.

Great camera even for amateur photographers
This is a fantastic camera for the price, and even beginner photogs can leverage the advanced features in this camera.
This is the first crossover DSLR/pocket digital camera I have ever owned, and it has produced the best pictures of any digital camera I have purchased. (When I say "crossover", I mean that it is not really a DSLR camera but it has numerous features found on, and produces pictures as good as, many of the entry-level DSLR cameras.) At 10mp, it gives you as much detail as you will ever need for everyday pictures. The LCD screen on the back is big, and works well even in sunlight. You can also use the viewfinder if the sun is so bright that the LCD is not usable, which is an option you won't find in many of the pocket digital cameras these days. The image stabilization is fantastic, especially if you find yourself shooting most of your pictures freehand as I do.
The shooting modes give you a lot of flexibility. The auto mode will do everything for you...all you need to do is focus and shoot. Now there is not really a "focus" per-se, but when you find the center of your shot and hold the shutter button halfway down, it allows the camera to perfectly adjust and lock-in the autofocus before you click down the shutter button to execute the picture. There is also a panoramic mode, a movie mode, a fully manual mode, as well as other pre-programmed modes.
The zoom on this camera is excellent. It allows you to get great close-ups when you are fairly far away from your subject. I have found it to be excellent when shooting sports pictures from the sidelines, allowing me to get close enough to see facial expressions of the players on the field.
Although the camera does come with software that will assist you in downloading the pictures from the camera to your computer, I have found it is much easier to just pop out the SD card and have my computer read the SD card directly. This brings up what I consider to be the only shortcoming of this camera, which is the battery placement. The SD card slot and the battery compartment, in the same location, are under a small access door on the bottom of the camera. To get at the SD card or the batteries, you will need to have a flat stable surface to set the camera onto. That being said, it's not that big a deal. I have changed the batteries twice in the field, and if you have everything at hand (or if you have someone that will lend you a hand for a moment) you can change the batteries without setting the camera down. It's just a little awkward.
Overall this is a superb camera. For the price I do not believe you will find a better camera. To get better pictures and more features, you would have to jump to a true DSLR. A note about the S1500's replacement, the S1800...the S1800 is due out in a few weeks, and it may be worth the wait. The S1800 will cost about $50 more than the S1500, but you will get a lot of bang for that $50. Better zoom, larger LCD, 12mp instead of 10mp, 720p HD movie capture, as well as many more new features. If the S1500 is this good, I can hardly wait for the S1800!

Finepix S1500
We were looking for an upgrade to the various point and shoot pocket format cameras that we have in 10-12 MP. The major problem with all of them was how and where they worked. Some took fabulous day shots, but now so good at night. Others took good day shots and would have taken good night shots except the flash washed everything out.
SO we opted for a Optical zoom, and a big objective lens, for the light gathering. indoors under normal lighting the flash is not necessary for most things.
As a camera it fits nicely in between the DSLR and the pocket point and shoots. Price wise it fits nicely in the pocket point and shoot range where most of it's competition is closer to the DSLR's. The only thing that comes close is the Nikon, and Nikon cheaped out on the lensing and made up for it in the software.
The only two complaints I have with it are:
1. having to read the manual. You can take good pictures without having done so, but if you read it you can take great pictures, there are allot of options and settings and it really matters that you pick the right mode for the shots you are taking.
2. I wish Fuji would have allowed the attachment of some kind of filter. Attaching a UV filter for overcast days would have been a big boon or even a polarizer. And as an added benefit you'd get that extra level of protection for your lens.
Other than that It does what we bought it for flawlessly, which is take fantastic pictures of a perpetual motion toddler who has only one speed Dead-Run. (and usually coming straight at you when you try to take a portrait.)

FINEPIX S1500
I LIKE THIS CAMERA, IT IS LIGHT WEIGHT AND SMALL FOR ALL ITS CAPABILITIES. IT USES "AA" BATTERIES, INSTEAD OF A SPECIAL BATTERY, AND THEY SEEM TO LAST FOR QUITE A WHILE. I HAD TO SEND MY UNIT BACK FOR REPAIR BECAUSE THE UNIT WOULD NOT TURN ON. I PLAYED AROUND WITH THE "ON-OFF" SWITCH AND IT WOULD TURN ON IF I PRESSED DOWN RATHER HARD ON THE SWITCH. WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAMERA THE SWITCH WORKED VERY EASILY. ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAD IS THE LATCHING FEATURE OF THE BATTERY/SD CARD COVER. IT DID NOT SEEM TO LATCH EASILY AND SOMETIMES I WOULD HAVE TO PLAY WITH IT TO GET IT TO LATCH. THE OVERALL QUALITY OF THE PICTURES IT TOOK ARE ADEQUATE. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY CAMERA BACK FROM THE REPAIR FACILITY YET AS IT HAS ONLY BEEN A WEEK SINCE I SENT IT TO THEM
Rating :
No Diopter
Although it took very good pictures, without a diopter the S1500 was useless to this reading glasses wearer. The default was very blurry.

An impressive 12.2 megapixels resolution of Fujifilm FinePix J38 won't miss the finest details of your subject. Images are captured sharp and clear with vivid colors, even when printed at large sizes. Featuring a 3x optical zoom, this compact performer lets you enjoy a range of picture-taking options, from atmospheric wide-angle scenes to dramatic close-ups. The large, bright LCD display makes it easy to compose great photos. And sharing pictures is a pleasure, thanks to a high-impact 230,000-dot resolution.

Not as I expected, such a disappointment.
After reading 130 or so 4 1/2 - 5 star reviews on various websites for this camera I finally decided to purchase one for myself. That was a big mistake. It is a very low quality camera for 12MP. Any still pictures you take without a flash come out with tons of noise, no matter what the ISO setting is. Then outdoor photos are extremely muted in color and contrast. People shot outdoors in bright direct sunlight come out shadowed and poor quality. I am so beyond disappointed with this purchase. I owned a Fuji camera for 3 1/2 years prior to this one and loved it. Now I doubt I'll ever purchase another Fuji again. I'd suggest sticking to a good 10MP camera with a comparable price of some other brand like Kodak or Sony or you'll be kicking yourself later.

I like it but the red eye removal does not work
I really like the camera. The pictures and videos come out very nice, but a lot of my still pictures have red eye and when I go to take it out it does not work. Other than that everything is very good about the camera. The battery lasts for a long time too.

Questions & Answers
Question : Anyone know of a great Olympus or Fuji point-and-shoot digital camera?
I'm looking for details here... I have lots of xD memory and my camera has gone belly up... anyone have feedback on current Olympus or Fuji digital cameras?
Answer:
Between those two brands...sorry, but Olympus is a brand I would never consider (due to it's so-so photo quality). The Fujifilm Finepix F30, however, is a compact point & shoot camera that performs extremely well in low light (high ISO, handheld, no flash). No other compact can compete with it in this area. I would buy it for that capability alone. So, if you want a compact camera particularly for low light situations, then it's the one to get. It also has great battery life of up to 580 shots. The newer, F31 fd, is a minor update but hasn't been reviewed as yet. But, if you ever decide to invest in SD memory, then have a look at Canon ;-)

Question : I just purchased a Fuji digital camera F40FD. I was wondering if this is a good camera?
I just purchased a Fuji digital camera F40fd. I take pictures in low light and I understand that the Fuji cameras are good for low light photography. I noticed that the camera got warm after taking a couple of pictures also when the lense goes in and out of the camera it grinds a bit especially between the review mode and setting it back to picture mode. I was looking for a F31fd camera or a F45fd camera but could not find one anywhere. So I am wondering if I made the right choice buying the F40fd? I have a couple of days to make up my mind and then I can either exchange the camera or keep the camera. I do not know what to do.I already own a Fuji camera a A820 and the pictures are fairly decent on that camera. I just wanted to bascially up grade that camera because I wanted a smaller more compact camera that worked well in low light. Did I make the right choice?
Answer:
This is a discontinued model. I would recommend a Canon camera over Fuji. Depending on how much you spent on the camera, another choice would be the Canon SD1100 IS. The PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater shooting flexibility. It's small and compact, and the Elph series has been known for it's superior quality for years.

Question : zoom error on fuji digital camera, how much would it cost to fix it?
It is a fuji finepix f650. Would it be worth sending the camera to the factory to fix or buy a new one? I've only had the camera for 7 months but I did not keep the receipt and the box.
Answer:
If it's a zoom error that requires you to replace the lens on the camera, the parts and labor could run as high as the $200-250 range, but the only way to figure out exactly how much it would cost would be contact Fuji. Try calling their factory service center; they'll be able to tell you if it's something that's under warranty or if you'll have to pay for the repairs yourself, and should be able to give you a ballpark figure for the cost to you.http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji/epartners/ServiceSupportRepairContent.jsp?dbid=674543

Question : What digital camera? Fuji A920, fuji J10. Kodak C813, Kodak v1003...or other?
I have been looking at cheap digital cameras, I have always like fuji and own one of their higher market ones for business purposes, and I have had a Kodak in the past........however I am now looking for a point and shoot camera for under £100. All the models mentioned above seem ok but I really don't know the difference...any ideas?
Answer:
I've always liked Fuji. I have had a few of them (when I buy a new one I give the old one to a charity or family member), and I have never had a problem with the. I like that Fuji uses glass lenses as they give you a better quality picture than plastic lenses. Also, I have noticed that Fuji cameras have a good learning curve, so if you are a beginner, intermediate or expert user you will find useful features. But, in that price range they are all about the same, just go for one that will have the features that you want and need.

Question : Just bought a 2nd hand Fuji Finepix digital camera. What does Frame Numbering (Continuous, Renew) mean?
All I got was the camera, no manual with it or anything, but one of the shooting options is called Frame Numbering and you can choose from Continuous or Renew. Does anyone know what this means?
Answer:
It didn't come with the manual? How very odd. Continuous means when you use the next memory card, the photo number (as in, 1, 2, 3 and so on), continues onto next card. Renew means the next card, it resets to 1 (if it's empty, that is). I think I am guessing correctly. I use Canon and I am certain they work the same way.

Question : extra zoom lenses for the Fuji finepix s700 digital camera.?
I was wondering what kind of extra zoom lenses can be purchased for the Fuji s700 digital camera. If I can buy extra lenses, where would I find them. I am from Canada. I will mostly use this camera at a race track 80% of the time it will be night.
Answer:
It has a 10X optical zoom. Fuji doesn't offer any "front lens" add-ons. There may be some "after market" ones offered but they would probably be a waste of money.
