Customer Review :

Love of my life.

I've had this camera when it first came out, which was when it was about $600-700, I believe. It's been the love of my life for years. This camera is quite capable of almost all the things that a DSLR can do. It's extremely fast when you turn it on. It's fast at saving photos. It's fast with multiple continuous shots. Bees? Bees flying? They're no match for this camera. It's quick. It's easy. Compared to the new Canon Rebel T1i, the Fujifilm is only a little bit slower and lower in quality even though it's a 6 MP difference.

It can get as close as an inch of a subject using the macro setting. I love love love the macro setting. Helloooo close-up bright flowers and yummy food shots. No need to buy expensive lenses. The colors are wonderful. The contrast is high. Changing the different settings is easy. The picture quality is high. I have printed large posters using pictures taken from this camera and I've never had to worry about the quality. I mostly use ISO 80-200 so I don't ever get grainy images.

All these wonderful things can be achieved using this camera ... if you read the manual and have some basic understanding of photography.

I have had friends who spent more money on Canon Rebels and have their pictures come out looking terrible because they don't read the manual and they have no basic understanding of photography, like ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and the combination of those three. My pictures rarely come out blurry or grainy. It's so easy to change the ISO setting on this camera that I change it all the time to get the best shots. Manual mode is also extremely easy to maneuver, so changing shutter speed and aperture is a breeze as well. Night shots are amazing and easy to take because the manual mode lets me control my shutter speed any way I want, for however long I want.

I bought rechargeable Duracell batteries and they last me about 500 shots. They do make the camera a lot heavier, but what the hey, I'm glad I don't have to drag around telephoto lenses all the time. Which leads me to the zoom. 28mm-300mm. The lenses aren't detachable, but with that kind of zoom, there's no need to buy other lenses. The flash is pretty quick at recharging, although I rarely use it, so I can't say much on it. I fare well without the flash because tweaking the settings (with the occasional help of the tripod) seems to work well for me.

So the best thing to do is to read the manual and look up some basic tips on photo-taking. This isn't just a point-and-shoot, so don't expect to just point and expect magic. A little knowledge is required too.

Great Camera

I had a Fuji S5200 and upgraded to the S9000 and it has been worth every penny. If you want point and shoot it is great. If you want to be able to adjust and manual operate your camera, the S9000 is as close as you can get to a DSL camera. The S9000 is a great camera for anyone.

Good for a while...

I had this camera for about 2 years. It was great for most of that time... nice pictures, good video quality. It was best for pictures done in natural light. My nature shots were great! But, recently, I started getting a line down the center of every single picture, no matter which mode I shoot in, or where I shoot. I asked a camera repair shop what happened, and they said that the sensor needs to be remapped and that would be $200. :( One guy told me that this happens a lot with Fujifilm cameras and he recommended a Nikon of the same type/price range, instead. So, it's nice for a while, but once it breaks (and I didn't even do anything wrong to the camera), it's a pretty heft price to repair it.

S9000 Feedback

The S9000 is a very nice camera. It has about every feature one could want. It took me about a month of shooting pictures before I realized that there is a very small green line that runs the length of the image on the left side. I thought it was just the lcd but when I looked at all my pictures, I realized that the flaw was from the beginning of receipt. I will check into the cost of repair. This camera was cheaper than all the rest on Amazon and I was told that there was a small crack on the battery door but it still held the batteries and that was true.

FUJI FINEPIX J10 DIGITAL CAMERA BLCK

Customer Review :

Very Bad

Horrible picture quality, comparable to the 20$ kiddy cams you get in toy stores. One picture may look OK, then the next is completely screwed up. Batteries are horrible and last maybe for 10 to 20 shots in just about any mode. Skip this POS and buy a Canon or Sony. Fuji needs to get out of the camera businnes.

nice camera - brilliant color

My old digital camera broke, so I picked this one up as a last minute replacement before a trip. Got it based on price and reviews. I like photos and taking them, but am not a photographer. Looking to document adventures in my life more than do anything artistic.

This camera is easy to use. Was able to do everything I needed to do without reading the manual. Plugged it in my computer (Mac) and iPhoto came up and did everything I needed it to do. Easy as pie! And I am not a technical person, by the way. :)

What amazed me was the great color my photos has. Really bright, really sharp. Made me look like a much better photographer than I am.

Good size. Not the smallest, but comfortable to carry around with you, in a pocket or purse. Display is large enough to tell what is going on, although it's good to have a bit of shade for easy reading.

The last couple of cameras I have purchased have been Nikon. After the great experience with this one, I am definitely getting a Fuji when this one goes out. I expect that to be a few years from now though because it has all the features I need, it's small, and it is well constructed.

Not perfect condition

For the price I was very pleased to receive: the charger, a battery and a case included with the camera. Shipping was in a timely manner. The only problem was the colors and picture quality seemed to be less than perfect.

I bought this camera because I owned the same camera and broke the screen. Since I already bought an extra battery for $30 I hated to just throw it all away with the broken camera. So with this purchase I ended up with 3 batteries, 2 chargers and a case to protect the screen from breaking again. But since I already owned this camera the picture quality was very noticeable to me.

Good pics, but I HATE the battery.

The battery is some special flat model that takes, like, 10 minutes to charge. "Great," you say? Not hardly, because that's about how long it lasts, and, unlike my previous Fuji, which used AAs, there's no way that I know of to have another set of batteries charged and ready to go. Hence, the battery's ALWAYS dead, and is so as I type. I find this VERY poor indeed; this thing needs more charging than my cell phone, which is on 24/7. Considering the battery to be a "feature," that's why I gave "features" 1 star. I'm seriously unhappy with this camera since it's useless without power. I'd appreciate a bigger camera with bigger batteries that's a lot more useful in the end.

Don't buy Fujifilm...they suck

I got Fujifilm J10 as a gift. With 3-4 months of using it suddenly the flash stopped working. I had barely used the camera few times. So I sent it back to Fujifilm since it was under warranty. They sent me an invoice for $60 to repair the flash...They refused to repair the camera under the pretext that it had minor scraches on one end. I called them back & tried to explain that it was barely used. To my dismay they refused to entertain any sort of enquiry. The service center remarked "impact damage, flash broken" and is not covered under warranty. This camera was not dropped, mishandled, abused, or impacted! I refused service I HATE FUJIFILM...their cameras are only good while they are working. I felt that $140 had gone down in drain. I will NEVER TOUCH FUJIFILM AGAIN...Do yourself a favor and get Nikon or Canon!

A Great Pocket Camera

I purchased this camera as a replacement for my 5 mega pixel camera purchased in 2004. Six years is a long lifespan for a small digital camera and to this day the only complaint I have about the little HP is that the screen is so small. It still takes great photos, albeit in decent light. I bought this Fujifilm J38 simply because of the price and am amazed at the amount of features it contains. My photos look great even in low light and the ability to crop them on the preview screen is nice. I am very happy with it so far. Not sure if I'll like it as long as I did my HP, but so far so good.

No DATE No TIME Stamp

I never imagined that there wouldn't be a date and time setting for my new camera.
I was shocked and perturbed to say the least when I discovered this. Fuji doesn't offer this feature on ANY of their cameras. I discovered this after the return period expired which, made me more upset.
I will never buy a Fuji and will make sure that I can have a date and time stamp for any important / date and time sensitive photos, when I get the next camera.

Flimsy parts not covered by warranty

I bought this camera for my teenage son for Christmas. Four months later, after using it no more than 3 or 4 times, the flimsy piece of plastic that holds the battery in place broke, so now the camera is unusable. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this part is not covered by warranty. With no repair centers in Massachusetts, our only option is to pay shipping to send it to Fuji and await a repair estimate. I think I'll try to fix it with superglue instead... For a $100 camera I find this outrageous. The other digital cameras in our family are Canons, and they have worked for years without any problems. I would never buy another Fuji camera again!

Disappointing ...

I got this camera looking for a simple camera to take family pics and pictures with small detail for school (I don't use video functions at all). I was pretty disappointed. The first J38 I ordered had to be sent back due to a lens malfunction. The second one took gorgeous images provided that there was more than enough light; but even with so many light settings, everything else was suprisingly noisy and grainy. If I used the flash, white objects drowned out all the detail. I took some pictures outside on a bright but overcast day, and more inside the house at midday with good lighting; not one came out without noise or blurriness.
To its credit, the camera charged up very quickly, though I disliked the fact that it didn't have a seperate battery charger. It was intuitive and very small, even smaller than my cell phone. It takes better pictures than my cell phone too, but seeing as my cell phone was free and this camera cost over $100.00, I'm returning it. I'm thinking of spending a few hundred more on a camera.
I'm sure you could get this camera to take reliably decent pictures, especially in bright lighting. I understand it's just a point-&-shoot, but after seeing what my last $100.00 point-and-shoot Fuji could do, I expected more.

Good Camera for 1st users (Tweens)

The camera is easy to use. I received this camera for my birthday from my girlfriend. I love taking pictures. The bad thing is there is no sound with the mini movies. The batteries don't last long no matter what kind of batteries you buy. I've taken very good care of this camera & have never dropped it or left it in the heat or cold weather. This camera quit working after only owning it for 2 years. Don't buy it for the amount of money you spend on it.

Don't let the price fool you.

I bought this camera thinking it was a throw-away due to the price. I soon found out that this camera was such a deal. It does everything you expect from a camera that cost 4 or 5 times as much. You dont get the high MP but for the price, it's well worth it

Used for 3 years, well worth it

I purchased this camera over 3 years ago. It was my first digital camera and has seen several states, suitcases, vehicle consoles, glove compartments, and floorboards. I have not had a LICK of problems with this camera, that is until my cat knocked it off the table one too many times. This camera has found the floor/ground many many many times, and I guess this was the last straw. The camera itself worked, it just couldn't focus because the zoom lens was stuck....(focus error). But back to the important stuff: For 4.1 megapixels, the pics come out great. I have posted many pictures on "auction sites" and "social sites" and have always had complete clarity. One thing that I don't really care for is that it takes 2 AA batteries. For the first while, I would use regular batteries, until I used approximately 874 of them. Then I got those rechargeable kind, which were a pain, and didn't seem to last long. Some people like cameras that take AA's - I don't. As far as being easy to use... absolutely. It doesn't have all kind of extra crap you'll never use. You can use a USB cable to get the pics onto a computer, or a memory card, which will slide into the side of a computer (laptop). I do wish the camera took pictures faster... I like to take pics of my dogs, and by the time the camera takes the picture, the dogs have already moved, which ruins the picture. The screen has never given me any problems, no scratches or black spots. What camera did I buy to replace this one? Fujifilm Z20FD (10 MP). I figured for a few more bucks, I get over twice the megapixels, bigger screen, and a sleeker design, yet with the same good, reliable name brand.

Rating :

Good camera

At 4.0 megapixels and with a bit of a delay in snapping a picture, this is hardly the best camera on the market, but it takes a decent picture, and at the less than forty dollars I paid for it, it was a fantastic deal.

I took one picture and the lens broke.

I really can't review much about this camera because I didn't really have a chance to use it before it broke. The lens wouldn't retract and I get the message "zoom error." ...Packed it up and sent it back. Still waiting for my refund. Will not be buying this camera again.

Question : What digital camera? Fuji A920, fuji J10. Kodak C813, Kodak v1003...or other?
I have been looking at cheap digital cameras, I have always like fuji and own one of their higher market ones for business purposes, and I have had a Kodak in the past........however I am now looking for a point and shoot camera for under £100. All the models mentioned above seem ok but I really don't know the difference...any ideas?

Answer:
I've always liked Fuji. I have had a few of them (when I buy a new one I give the old one to a charity or family member), and I have never had a problem with the. I like that Fuji uses glass lenses as they give you a better quality picture than plastic lenses. Also, I have noticed that Fuji cameras have a good learning curve, so if you are a beginner, intermediate or expert user you will find useful features. But, in that price range they are all about the same, just go for one that will have the features that you want and need.

Question : help!my fuji digital camera isn't working and i need it for a trip tomorrow the lense keeps saying focus error?
i am leaving tomorrow and it won't work.

Answer:
I'd buy a disposable or borrow something from a friend. If you don't have that luxury, you could try cleaning the lens. If you do this wrong it can damage the camera. I use the same solution and microfiber cloth that they give you to clean glasses. This may solve your problem, but if not, I'd try to get something else to use. If you do get great pictures from the trip, you may want to check out the HD wireless digital frames from Ceiva. http://snurl.com/98odw

Question : I just purchased a Fuji digital camera F40FD. I was wondering if this is a good camera?
I just purchased a Fuji digital camera F40fd. I take pictures in low light and I understand that the Fuji cameras are good for low light photography. I noticed that the camera got warm after taking a couple of pictures also when the lense goes in and out of the camera it grinds a bit especially between the review mode and setting it back to picture mode. I was looking for a F31fd camera or a F45fd camera but could not find one anywhere. So I am wondering if I made the right choice buying the F40fd? I have a couple of days to make up my mind and then I can either exchange the camera or keep the camera. I do not know what to do.I already own a Fuji camera a A820 and the pictures are fairly decent on that camera. I just wanted to bascially up grade that camera because I wanted a smaller more compact camera that worked well in low light. Did I make the right choice?

Answer:
This is a discontinued model. I would recommend a Canon camera over Fuji. Depending on how much you spent on the camera, another choice would be the Canon SD1100 IS. The PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater shooting flexibility. It's small and compact, and the Elph series has been known for it's superior quality for years.

Question : Just bought a 2nd hand Fuji Finepix digital camera. What does Frame Numbering (Continuous, Renew) mean?
All I got was the camera, no manual with it or anything, but one of the shooting options is called Frame Numbering and you can choose from Continuous or Renew. Does anyone know what this means?

Answer:
It didn't come with the manual? How very odd. Continuous means when you use the next memory card, the photo number (as in, 1, 2, 3 and so on), continues onto next card. Renew means the next card, it resets to 1 (if it's empty, that is). I think I am guessing correctly. I use Canon and I am certain they work the same way.

Question : I have a Fuji digital camera Finepix S602 Zoom . When I use it is get a central dividing line . How to remove?
On the left of this line is in colour and on the right it is black and white . Thank you .

Answer:
Have you got a sample? I fear something may be up with your sensor.
