Big on megapixels and display size, the HP Photosmart M547 is a great choice if you want super-clear shots and easy viewing. It has 18x total zoom for when you want to catch something across a room or in the distance. And it lets you keep motion blur to a minimum and remove red eye before your favorite shots even leave the camera.

Not what we had hoped
We bought this for our son in March. He only was able to use it a few times before the lense would no longer retract. Unfortunately, we were on vacation for 3 weeks when it happened and the camera only had a 90 day warranty, which ran out while we were gone. Now we have an expensive, useless camera. I expected more from HP.

HP M547 Photosmart rated So So
The 6.2MP HP M547 Photosmart's not a bad utilitarian camera and good overall value for the $75 Online price, and the $9 2GB SD Card I got on Amazon using the Google Checkout discount was a great deal; But the 6.2 HP M547 Photosmart camera is not anywhere close to the camera my 4MP Nikon digital is. Good thing I found my Nikon again. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for, even if I did pay $200 for the 4MP Nikon 2 Chrismas' ago.

Really nice
My sister bought this camera for my daughter for Christmas. We are really impressed with it's quality. I own a Canon A560 and I think the pictures taken with this camera are even nicer. It's very user friendly and you can do some nice editing on the camera itself. I am very impressed. (And I have to be pretty impressed or not impressed to go out of my way to write a review).

So easy even you can use it.
HP Photosmart M547 6.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom This is my second HP after 7 years. HP was my choice again for the ease of use, ease of understanding the instructions and ease of connecting to the printer and the MAC computer. The screen is large, and what you see in the screen is the you picture get.
For the price is was THE RIGHT CHOICE AGAIN ----HP.

Customer Review :
Decent Camera
I owned this camera for about a year. The only reason why I have to get a new one is because I carried it in my purse and broke the LCD screen.
Generally, I really liked this camera. It was quick and easy to use (hence carrying it in my purse) and it took pretty good pictures. I did have some blurry ones, but not too bad. Usually if I was in too much of a hurry.
The only drawbacks are that it takes lousy nighttime pictures (everything is dark) and it has a fairly slow shutter, so you have to wait for the camera to focus.
It's the first digital camera I owned, so I can't compare it to others at this point. I thought it was good for the money. (I paid about 90.00 from wal-mart)
I used rechargeable batteries, and usually didn't have to recharge them for weeks. I would use the camera several times a week. I did use it for an entire week when I first purchased it (for a trip to Vegas) and the rechargeables worked well the entire time.

Excellent value for your money.
Purchased the Photosmart M437 for $100/- from Walmart. I was able to use all its features without even reading the manual. What a relief from the other cameras that I used that were cluttered with buttons and dials all over, half of which I did not even know what to use for. The use of the buttons on this camera is intuitive. It has just what we need, no more, no less. I take multiple pictures for every pose and select the best one for printing when I view them on the computer.
If you are not a professional and just take family pictures this is the camera for you. And if you think you need more than 5 megapixels, you are insane.
This is my 3rd camera in the last 7 years. My first camera was a $400/- Kodak, 2nd was a $280/- Canon. Both of them broke after 2-3 years of use. Every year technology is progressing at such speed, why spend hundreds of dollars on electronics that gets cheaper every year and also on features that you will never even use ?
HP is a name I trust. I have used 4 laptops over the last 5 years, 1 Sony, 1 Dell, 2 HPs. The Sony broke down, the Dell is the slowest though it is the latest and has a unfriendly keyboard/mousepad layout, the 2 HPs I'm most happy with. One of the HPs I have been using for the last 5 years. By now I know HP is a quality company. That is why I purchased this camera and I'm happy with my decision.

a good camera for its price
I bought the second time this camera for my friends and I am very satisfied of the quality of the photos, specially the photos taken in the nighttime. A good camera for the best price.

Customer Review :
THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY
THE GOOD: This camera is user friendly, easy to use and takes terrific pictures which is why I may decide to keep it.
THE BAD: HP does not include a user manual with the camera. They expect you to download the manual, at your own time and expense, from their web site. All they provide with the camera is a Quick Start Guide and a detailed warranty. Also the place where you connect the USB cable to transer pictures to your PC is at the bottom of the camera. I usually take pictures with a tripod which means I always have to remove the camera from the tripod to transfer pictures. Badly designed feature. The software that comes with the camera may or may not be current and therefore may or may not work!
THE UGLY: This best describes the experience you may have dealing with HP tech support. I called their tech support TWICE BEFORE i BOUGHT THE CAMERA AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND SPOKE TO 2 DIFFERENT TECHS ABOUT HOW THE SELF-TIME WORKS. I use the self-timer all the time and it works differently in various cameras. Both techs told me it did NOT need to be reset for each picture as long as you didn't shut the camera off after setting it. NOT TRUE! I don't they intentionally lied to me. I don't think they knew the right answer and didn't bother to look it up. But things went downhill from here. There is supposed to be editing features in the software that comes with the camera. All I wanted to do is crop the pictures I take. When I couldn't find this feature in the software I called tech support. THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME! They said I had to look the information I needed up in their online user manual and figure it out myself. To say I was furious is the understatement of the year, especially after I looked it up in the user manual only to find out the manual DOES NOT EVEN COVER THIS SUBJECT!!! I called tech support back and asked to speak to a supervisor threatening to return the camera to Amazon and put a scathing review on Amazon's web site for all the world to see about HP's lack of customer service. Fortunately a kind, knowledgeable, helpful tech from India took my call and agreed to help me. He showed me how to access the program on the software but after cropping a few pictures, we had trouble saving them. He determined I didn't have the most current version of their software and he showed me how to download the one I needed from their web site. This solved the problem. I later brought my experience to the attention of a supervisor, who listened patiently, but told me he couldn't do anything about it, including discipling the tech who refused to help me. While it's tempting to return the camera and tell HP to go to hell, I've tried a Canon, a Nikon and a Panasonic digital camera in this price range only to find they were all defective in some way and had to be returned. I was beginning to think I couldn't even find a camera that actually worked, much less one that took good pictures. The picture quality is out-standing on this camera. I gave it only a 3-star rating because of the Bad and Ugly points mentioned. BE FOREWARNED! HP is going out of the camera business. Maybe that's why they don't seem to care about helping their camera customers. But I honestly think I'd get the same crummy customer service on any HP product so I won't buy another one. If you buy this camera and need tech support, pray you get the same kind, helpful tech I finally did. I have a feeling he was one in a million which are not good odds, but you may get lucky. Dealing with HP you'll need all the luck you can get!

Received a USED camera!
I ordered (3) "NEW" M737 camera's and when I recevied them, one of the boxes was not sealed and the camera had obviously been used! It was dirty and had finger prints on the display screen. I was VERY disappointed that a product in this condition was even sent out!

Customer Review :
Super camera for beginners.
I was very wary of purchasing a digital camera. All the options, styles, and what the heck are pixels and what do they have to do with pictures, anyway? Well it turns out that the 5 megapixels are great for my small to medium photos. The battery lasts for a while, even longer if you take measures to save the battery. Even though I do not find it hard to figure out how to use technology, I think even my mom could figure out how to use this. The buttons and menus are so easy, and it even explains what the options mean and how they affect your pictures. My only issue is that I didn't know I had to buy a memory card for it, so there you go: Buy a memory card and shoot away!

Very Dissapointed!!!
I bought this camera based on the reviews. Now unless it was a manufaturer's defect, this camera was a piece of junk! Simple, but horrible grainy, blurry photos. I would not recommend this camera to anyone looking for a decent point and shoot camera that takes quality photos!

Nice digital camera.
Can't buy this camera in stores anymore. It's obsolete. This is a replacement for an identical camera that I dropped and broke. I liked the picture quality and features of the original so much, I wanted to replace it with the original. I like it.

This camera is outstanding. It is easy to use with a ton of options and features to use. The software downloads quickly and easily. It was a perfect gift and I'm glad I bought one for me too!

Acceptable
Pro's: - Easy to learn. - Nice sized LCD screen - Clear pictures - The price was right
Cons: - Battery Eater. (One solution to this problem is you should purchase rechargeable batteries if you don't want to spend a fortune) - If its dark you can barely see anything on the LCD screen, you would have to guess. - The flash takes a while to go off. (I personally don't mind. I haven't had to take any pictures of moving things in the dark. But For Example: If I want to take a picture of a flying bird and its dark, it might take a second for the flash to go off and by then you might miss the shot).
All in all I really like this camera. Its my first one. If its great for me it might be great for other beginners. Its not great, but its a good acceptable little camera.
Rating :
Great camera for the price!
I have not had any of the problems I am reading on here, so I can't comment on what happened to them. All I can say is that this is a great little camera for the money, it takes pictures in brilliant color and is so easy to use. I do agree with one reviewer who said pictures in the dark are hard to see, you do have to guess, and pictures at a distance (cityscapes at night don't come out very well, that would be my only minor problem and the only thing that keeps me from giving five stars) I bought a camera dock and rechargable batteries right from the start so I have no battery problems and I can download my pics right to my laptop either directly through a USB cable or through the camera dock. It also has great and easy to use settings for borders, color schemes and antique to black and white settings as well. I've never had a camera that takes such great pics, so easy to use and costs so little. I would tell anyone looking for a good basic camera that isn't going to break you to go for it, I don't know what these other people on here are using their camera for but mine is just fine and I love it!
Rating :
horrible waste of money
We have had this camera for only about 4 months and have used it sparingly since it is my husband's camera for use at work in case they need a photo of something. It is already broken. The lens won't extend and open when you turn it on- thus impossible to use. When you turn it off, the lens opens up. It is not worth even $99.00. How disappointing in this day of digital cameras that HP can't come up with something a little better than a disposable camera from the supermarket.

Question : Is the Hewlett Packard Photosmart M437 Digital Camera, 5.0MP a good camera?
Tell me some of the 'great' features of this camera. Like if you can make your pics black and white on the camera, and if it has options like that.
Answer:
Yes , but I prefer the PCWOrld magazine "best buy" ( price x technologie x megapixels ), theHP Photosmart R927 ,8.2 megapixels ( $260.00 ) and HP Photosmart R967 , 10 megapixels. ( $280.00).The Photosmart M437 is good but the difference bettween cameras are just $50 ( if your choice is Deluxe acessories kit ), or basic kit ( $140.00) .The M437 has a range of shooting modes that provide predefined settings for everyday situations. They are optimized for particular types of scenes or shooting situations and include Beach and Snow, -Landscape, Night portrait, and more.-Record Video and Print Video stills.-Built-in and Expandable Memory.-In-camera Editing Features. The other cameras features:-3.0" LCD Display.-Take Creative Control -The Photosmart R927 Digital Camera has a complete range of exposure and scene options, including manual exposure, so you"ll be able to get exactly the image you want. -HP Adaptive LightingThis ground-breaking technology automatically adjusts high contrast photos to reveal the detail that would otherwise be lost in the shadows - ideal when you're shooting into the sun or using flash. HP In-camera Red-eye RemovalRemove red-eye without having to transfer photos to your computer. This unique, easy-to-use tool automatically recognizes red-eye and lets you remove it immediately via your camera's LCD screen. HP In-camera Panorama StitchingYour camera stitches up to 5 photos together to create a single photo for easy printing. And I like HP support.good luck

Question : How to import photo's from HP E427 camera to iPhoto on Mac?
Right, here's the problem,I have a Hewlett Packard E427 digital camera. I have no Hewlett Packard software. I'm trying to import photo's from the camera to iPhoto on my macbook. When I connect the camera to the macbook using USB, iPhoto opens automatically but doesn't give me an (obvious) option to import the photo's.According to Hewlett Packard, you do not have to use their software to import photo's.What am I doing wrong? It's driving me crazy! Thanks.
Answer:
Here a few problems I see:1) Do you have the lastest update of iPhoto2) Go do the side of your iPhoto and look for HPE4273) If that doesnt show up, try it out on a friends Mac or Windows4) If all fails get a SD card reader, their like $20 so it snot that big of a deal.

Answer:
I guess it depends on what you plan to do with the camera and what kind of pictures you want to take. HP makes pretty decent printers and if you can get a sample shot printed from it prior to purchase depending on your satisfaction with the quality of the print that should be your main decision maker on that scale. Also be aware that if you're going to be say, printing a book a photo printer isn't the best choice because the quality is definitely inferior on that level. As for HP cameras I've never had any personal luck with them. As the previous poster stated HP camera's are 'ok' but for true quality I'd look at another brand. I'm a very big fan of Canons, but Nikons are also solid pieces of machinery, along with the sonys, in terms of reliable picture quality and satisfaction.

Question : Is it true that realplayer version 10 can interfere with me sending pictures from my digital camera to my pc?
because i can no longer upload from my kodax easyshare cx7300 or my hewlett packard DSC 220 ? And does anyone know how i can get these working again please? i have tried installing the software again but it isnt having any of it?????? HELP.
Answer:
I haven't had any trouble with realplayer, mediaplayer or any other program and my digital pictures. I'd have a look for a virus first to see if this is upsetting your system - you'll have to reinstall if there are viruses abd they are removed - then i'd look at control panel, and admintration tools to see if your printer and digital camera are enabled.
