a good camera for its price
I bought the second time this camera for my friends and I am very satisfied of the quality of the photos, specially the photos taken in the nighttime. A good camera for the best price.

Excellent value for your money.
Purchased the Photosmart M437 for $100/- from Walmart. I was able to use all its features without even reading the manual. What a relief from the other cameras that I used that were cluttered with buttons and dials all over, half of which I did not even know what to use for. The use of the buttons on this camera is intuitive. It has just what we need, no more, no less. I take multiple pictures for every pose and select the best one for printing when I view them on the computer.
If you are not a professional and just take family pictures this is the camera for you. And if you think you need more than 5 megapixels, you are insane.
This is my 3rd camera in the last 7 years. My first camera was a $400/- Kodak, 2nd was a $280/- Canon. Both of them broke after 2-3 years of use. Every year technology is progressing at such speed, why spend hundreds of dollars on electronics that gets cheaper every year and also on features that you will never even use ?
HP is a name I trust. I have used 4 laptops over the last 5 years, 1 Sony, 1 Dell, 2 HPs. The Sony broke down, the Dell is the slowest though it is the latest and has a unfriendly keyboard/mousepad layout, the 2 HPs I'm most happy with. One of the HPs I have been using for the last 5 years. By now I know HP is a quality company. That is why I purchased this camera and I'm happy with my decision.

Decent Camera
I owned this camera for about a year. The only reason why I have to get a new one is because I carried it in my purse and broke the LCD screen.
Generally, I really liked this camera. It was quick and easy to use (hence carrying it in my purse) and it took pretty good pictures. I did have some blurry ones, but not too bad. Usually if I was in too much of a hurry.
The only drawbacks are that it takes lousy nighttime pictures (everything is dark) and it has a fairly slow shutter, so you have to wait for the camera to focus.
It's the first digital camera I owned, so I can't compare it to others at this point. I thought it was good for the money. (I paid about 90.00 from wal-mart)
I used rechargeable batteries, and usually didn't have to recharge them for weeks. I would use the camera several times a week. I did use it for an entire week when I first purchased it (for a trip to Vegas) and the rechargeables worked well the entire time.

HP Photosmart R927
This camera is fantastic! It takes great pictures to save on the computer or to print. The controls are easy to use- even my photo challenged husband can take great pictures. It takes beautiful pictures in low lighting too which is great! It is not cheap plastic, but has a metal casing. I will definately get another HP if this one ever goes bad.

Nice camera
I have had this camera for 8 months now and I love this camera. The prints are wonderful no matter how much I crop them. I had an HP camera prior to this one and I had it for 5 years and loved it. So I purchased this camera and I have not been disappointed with it. Has many features of which I haven't used them all yet. Would not trade this camera for any other.

Great Camera
Best digital camera I ever owned. Awesome quality, great battery life, and design, nice strong houseing, great flash for day, inside or nighttime and best of all it's a good price. Made with quality unlike their printers which suck.

Will never buy another HP camera!
This is my second HP camera and both had the similar problems....bad battery charge....The first camera came free with my purchase; I didn't use it for several months and when I tried it wouldn't charge, even after buying a new battery. This second camera (R927) had the flash quit working shortly after the waranty ran out....and still wouldn't work even with a new battery. The only way to take pictures at all is to turn the flash off completely. Also, I have been very unhappy with sharpness and color quality overall. I have always liked HP Photosmart printers, but their cameras...not very good. Waste of money!

Yet again another great camera from HP
This camera is not slow like some people are saying, like 1 person said use a SanDisk or HP memory card they have more speed. If that deosn't work than just simply change the red-eye setting in the camera, because with this setting on, the camera will try to fix the red-eye on every single picture you take before you can take another. The camera has so many fetures but yet it is so easy to use plus at 8.0MP you get great clear pictures.

Not worth what I paid for it
Honestly, when I bought this camera at full price when it first came out, I thought it was a great deal. Boy, was I wrong. The camera is absolutely horrible on batteries. So when I actually wanted to use the darn thing I was never able to because the batteries were drained after having them in for about 20. I eventually just started popping the batteries in right when I used the camera to save them. The mechanism that slides over the view finder eventually gave up as well.
It did however deserve a couple of stars only because the picture quality of the camera proved to be not so bad.
In the end, if you're gonna spend money on a digital camera in the first place, I recommend shelling out a few extra bucks on a pricier camera. It will definitely turn out to save you frustration and the money it takes to work it in the first place.

Easy-to-use first digital camera!
I have never been good with cameras, but I bought the HP M22 in May 2006. I read the manual and tried all the features to learn how to use it. I took all the photos of my 40-yr. high school reunion, my sister's 70th birthday celebration, my trip to an organizational retreat, and made picture calendars for my family. This is a great little camera for the beginner to learn about digital photography. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 10!

Nice camera (when it works!)
I've spent a small fortune on batteries for this camera and tried new and rechargeable batteries. It's gotten progressively worse and now (after 2 years) the camera turns on only occasionally and even then only when it's plugged into the battery charger. It's a shame because it's a nice camera when it's operating. Don't waste your money. Now I have to buy a new camera. You can bet it won't be an HP.

Great camera!
I borrowed this camera from my grandson and almost didn't want to give it back. This camera takes awesome sunset pictures! Even better than my own expensive camera. So far, it's no. 1 on my sunset list.

Someone needs an education
I've owned this camera for two years and haven't had one problem with it. My batteries usually last 400-500 shots. Very few of my pictures have ever turned out bad, and those that did were operator error. The only problem I have ever had with it is the red-eye. I have added photos on this site that you can view....you can see for yourself. I just "don't get" the bad reviews that other people have put in.

unpredictable, unreliable
This is my second of this model camera. The company had to send me a new one when the first one's screen fried itself. Now this one refuses to save pictures. I take a picture and it tells me "Error Saving Image" It is really annoying when you think you have the perfect shot and then it doesn't save!

ive had this camera for approximately 5 plus years now.
i purchased it after using an earlier model for work (auction sales). I still use the camera at work and it is fantastik! I use it on a daily basis.
I have taken many wonderful pictures which have printed out beautifully from a local photo shop. I was surprised at the quality as i thought pictures came out lousy, but when uploaded, i saw that they were beautiful!
I reckommended this camera for my pastors mom, unfortunately it does not seem to be in stock atm.

was a good camera
we used this camera for just over 3 years. it was great. never had any problems with it until the last 6 months or so. the camera would randomly not save the images. it would say "error saving image." if i turned camera off and then back on it usually worked like it should. i have no complaints about it really. it got dropped its share of times and tossed around plenty. we used it for as long as we could. finally had to give it up when the power switch fell off.

It's very inexpensive
After reading through a lot of the reviews here I have to chime in. I have owned this model now for 2 years, having said that I have taken hundreds of pictures with it, many of these were very good and will be cherished. This is a great little camera for still photo's, let me repeat STILL photo's. It does a fantastic job of it, if you want to take photo's quickly (as in turn on and take a pic) forget it, it takes as long to turn on as Martha Stuart on dirty sheets. The flash recharge time isn't good so if you plan on taking several pics indoors in short order... forget it. As I have put here it looks like a mixed bag of feelings, on the one hand I have kept it and used it for hundreds of photo's, on the other I have missed/deleted hundreds because of the slightest movement on my part or the slightest movement of the object. I'm a patient man but I have steadily grown to hate this camera over 2 years. I have always had a higher priority than buying a new camera. As I get older I would rather not put up with some things and this is one I chose to put up with no longer.
I hope this helps someone see it for what it is, fantastic for shooting stills, yet terrible for all around use. And please these cameras are horrific with standard batteries, use energizer e2 lithium you will see an difference beyond belief in the number of pics you can take (and they are lighter). IMHO
Rating :
Not to shabby.
I think one of the major things I disliked about the camera was its speed. When there is something important going on that I want to snap a quick photo of, it takes 10 seconds for the flash to load. Also, it eats through double A's. It is a relativly good camera for just like little still shots of your dog.

Don't waste your money
Used this camera for 2 months and it quit working. Don't bother calling HP they don't care.

Silently Erased ALL My Pictures :-(
We have had this camera for a couple of years. Bought for our 9 year old to use. Overpriced for what it does, especially in 2010. However, the user interface in this camera has one HUGE fatal flaw - it will silently erase all pictures stored on the memory card without telling you. If you connect the camera to a computer to download pictures with it still in camera (verses picture viewing) mode it will erase ALL photos in the camera without asking or confirming. You must turn on the camera, switch to viewing mode, then connect to the computer via USB. If you forget to switch to view mode before connecting to the computer, you will lose all your photos. And you will forget, and make this mistake. More than once. And really really regret buying a product that should never have been released. This really shows how far HP has fallen in product quality. Amazing that a company would have the nerve (or stupidity) to sell a product with such a bad user interaction flaw.
Rating :
How can they sell a bad camera like this one?!
Fortunately this camera was a prize... not a penny wasted on it I do not believe hot today can be sold a camera with fixed focus (maybe you think that with no focusing, your picture is taken just when you push the button - but that is not the case of this camera, that takes somewhat a second to shoot, even with no flash!!!), a sensor that seems to need a whole sun of ligth to produce a non grainy picture, an interface that because of it lack of buttons requires a lot of navigation even for simple and common adjusts. Not to mention its hungry of batteries, even alkaline or good NiMH ... is hp making batteries??? seems that they want to make money on bunchs of batteries sold to camera owners. Please stay away of this camera, unless you want to have something that deserves your angry and a your hammer! Pros: Lens cover. Cons: Too many for this space!

Answer:
I guess it depends on what you plan to do with the camera and what kind of pictures you want to take. HP makes pretty decent printers and if you can get a sample shot printed from it prior to purchase depending on your satisfaction with the quality of the print that should be your main decision maker on that scale. Also be aware that if you're going to be say, printing a book a photo printer isn't the best choice because the quality is definitely inferior on that level. As for HP cameras I've never had any personal luck with them. As the previous poster stated HP camera's are 'ok' but for true quality I'd look at another brand. I'm a very big fan of Canons, but Nikons are also solid pieces of machinery, along with the sonys, in terms of reliable picture quality and satisfaction.

Question : I'm looking for an instruction manuel for a hewlett packard camera. model 618?
have no instruction manuel for a model 618 hp digital camera. I'd like to find the web site where I could order one, the flash is not working. Not having the manuel, I can't find in the menu where the flash might be turned off.
Answer:
good luck. they never made an instruction manual so you'll be looking a long time. HP began outsourcing their camera manual writing at the time the 618 was produced. The first manual was written in Hindi and Farsi but not in English (I assume you're an English speaker? ) By the time HP rectified the problem using their Farsi translation software the camera was already obsolete and defective. There has been a class action lawsuit filed in Hosuton Superior Court over this issue and the Judge is considering placing a moratorium and injunction on future HP products

Question : Hewlett Packard Photosmart Mz67 is it a good camera??
i'm looking for a camera to take quality pictures and motion pictures such as horses jumping. is it s good camera to bring amazing quality? if not what is? i was thinking of the Canon PowerShot SX100. how do i turn off the digital zoom on both of the cameras? because i have both camera at my hands to buy. all i want to know is which one has the better picture quaility and best quaility of motion pictures such as horses jumping. i think the Canon PowerShot SX100 sucks at flash pictures, but i can always return it for another one if i don't like it :) so how do i turn the digital zoom off and which one's better
Answer:
SX100 IS is better because it has Av, Tv and M mode. Tv mode will be useful for sport photography. All point and shoot digital cameras have some shutter lag. When you try to shoot the horse jumping, pre-focus (half press the shutter button) on something which the horse is going to jump over first. Press the shutter button all the way when you the horse jumps. You may need to practice a couple of times to get the right timing.

Question : Is the Hewlett Packard Photosmart M437 Digital Camera, 5.0MP a good camera?
Tell me some of the 'great' features of this camera. Like if you can make your pics black and white on the camera, and if it has options like that.
Answer:
Yes , but I prefer the PCWOrld magazine "best buy" ( price x technologie x megapixels ), theHP Photosmart R927 ,8.2 megapixels ( $260.00 ) and HP Photosmart R967 , 10 megapixels. ( $280.00).The Photosmart M437 is good but the difference bettween cameras are just $50 ( if your choice is Deluxe acessories kit ), or basic kit ( $140.00) .The M437 has a range of shooting modes that provide predefined settings for everyday situations. They are optimized for particular types of scenes or shooting situations and include Beach and Snow, -Landscape, Night portrait, and more.-Record Video and Print Video stills.-Built-in and Expandable Memory.-In-camera Editing Features. The other cameras features:-3.0" LCD Display.-Take Creative Control -The Photosmart R927 Digital Camera has a complete range of exposure and scene options, including manual exposure, so you"ll be able to get exactly the image you want. -HP Adaptive LightingThis ground-breaking technology automatically adjusts high contrast photos to reveal the detail that would otherwise be lost in the shadows - ideal when you're shooting into the sun or using flash. HP In-camera Red-eye RemovalRemove red-eye without having to transfer photos to your computer. HP In-camera Panorama StitchingYour camera stitches up to 5 photos together to create a single photo for easy printing. And I like HP support.good luck

Question : How to import photo's from HP E427 camera to iPhoto on Mac?
Right, here's the problem,I have a Hewlett Packard E427 digital camera. I have no Hewlett Packard software. I'm trying to import photo's from the camera to iPhoto on my macbook. When I connect the camera to the macbook using USB, iPhoto opens automatically but doesn't give me an (obvious) option to import the photo's.According to Hewlett Packard, you do not have to use their software to import photo's.What am I doing wrong? It's driving me crazy! Thanks.
Answer:
Here a few problems I see:1) Do you have the lastest update of iPhoto2) Go do the side of your iPhoto and look for HPE4273) If that doesnt show up, try it out on a friends Mac or Windows4) If all fails get a SD card reader, their like $20 so it snot that big of a deal.
