Customer Review :
Received a USED camera!
I ordered (3) "NEW" M737 camera's and when I recevied them, one of the boxes was not sealed and the camera had obviously been used! It was dirty and had finger prints on the display screen. I was VERY disappointed that a product in this condition was even sent out!

HP M737 photosmart camera.... It is a great camera.
The HP M737 photosmart camera is easy to use and take good quality photos. In addition its software for photo edition is easy to use too. In my opinion for domestic use is not necessary to purchase a more expensive camera. I recommend this product.

THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY
THE GOOD: This camera is user friendly, easy to use and takes terrific pictures which is why I may decide to keep it.
THE BAD: HP does not include a user manual with the camera. They expect you to download the manual, at your own time and expense, from their web site. All they provide with the camera is a Quick Start Guide and a detailed warranty. Also the place where you connect the USB cable to transer pictures to your PC is at the bottom of the camera. I usually take pictures with a tripod which means I always have to remove the camera from the tripod to transfer pictures. Badly designed feature. The software that comes with the camera may or may not be current and therefore may or may not work!
THE UGLY: This best describes the experience you may have dealing with HP tech support. I called their tech support TWICE BEFORE i BOUGHT THE CAMERA AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND SPOKE TO 2 DIFFERENT TECHS ABOUT HOW THE SELF-TIME WORKS. I use the self-timer all the time and it works differently in various cameras. Both techs told me it did NOT need to be reset for each picture as long as you didn't shut the camera off after setting it. NOT TRUE! I don't they intentionally lied to me. I don't think they knew the right answer and didn't bother to look it up. But things went downhill from here. There is supposed to be editing features in the software that comes with the camera. All I wanted to do is crop the pictures I take. When I couldn't find this feature in the software I called tech support. THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME! They said I had to look the information I needed up in their online user manual and figure it out myself. To say I was furious is the understatement of the year, especially after I looked it up in the user manual only to find out the manual DOES NOT EVEN COVER THIS SUBJECT!!! I called tech support back and asked to speak to a supervisor threatening to return the camera to Amazon and put a scathing review on Amazon's web site for all the world to see about HP's lack of customer service. Fortunately a kind, knowledgeable, helpful tech from India took my call and agreed to help me. He showed me how to access the program on the software but after cropping a few pictures, we had trouble saving them. He determined I didn't have the most current version of their software and he showed me how to download the one I needed from their web site. This solved the problem. I later brought my experience to the attention of a supervisor, who listened patiently, but told me he couldn't do anything about it, including discipling the tech who refused to help me. While it's tempting to return the camera and tell HP to go to hell, I've tried a Canon, a Nikon and a Panasonic digital camera in this price range only to find they were all defective in some way and had to be returned. I was beginning to think I couldn't even find a camera that actually worked, much less one that took good pictures. The picture quality is out-standing on this camera. I gave it only a 3-star rating because of the Bad and Ugly points mentioned. BE FOREWARNED! HP is going out of the camera business. Maybe that's why they don't seem to care about helping their camera customers. But I honestly think I'd get the same crummy customer service on any HP product so I won't buy another one. If you buy this camera and need tech support, pray you get the same kind, helpful tech I finally did. I have a feeling he was one in a million which are not good odds, but you may get lucky. Dealing with HP you'll need all the luck you can get!

Not to shabby.
I think one of the major things I disliked about the camera was its speed. When there is something important going on that I want to snap a quick photo of, it takes 10 seconds for the flash to load. Also, it eats through double A's. It is a relativly good camera for just like little still shots of your dog.

It's very inexpensive
After reading through a lot of the reviews here I have to chime in. I have owned this model now for 2 years, having said that I have taken hundreds of pictures with it, many of these were very good and will be cherished. This is a great little camera for still photo's, let me repeat STILL photo's. It does a fantastic job of it, if you want to take photo's quickly (as in turn on and take a pic) forget it, it takes as long to turn on as Martha Stuart on dirty sheets. The flash recharge time isn't good so if you plan on taking several pics indoors in short order... forget it. As I have put here it looks like a mixed bag of feelings, on the one hand I have kept it and used it for hundreds of photo's, on the other I have missed/deleted hundreds because of the slightest movement on my part or the slightest movement of the object. I'm a patient man but I have steadily grown to hate this camera over 2 years. I have always had a higher priority than buying a new camera. As I get older I would rather not put up with some things and this is one I chose to put up with no longer.
I hope this helps someone see it for what it is, fantastic for shooting stills, yet terrible for all around use. And please these cameras are horrific with standard batteries, use energizer e2 lithium you will see an difference beyond belief in the number of pics you can take (and they are lighter). IMHO

How can they sell a bad camera like this one?!
Fortunately this camera was a prize... not a penny wasted on it I do not believe hot today can be sold a camera with fixed focus (maybe you think that with no focusing, your picture is taken just when you push the button - but that is not the case of this camera, that takes somewhat a second to shoot, even with no flash!!!), a sensor that seems to need a whole sun of ligth to produce a non grainy picture, an interface that because of it lack of buttons requires a lot of navigation even for simple and common adjusts. Not to mention its hungry of batteries, even alkaline or good NiMH ... is hp making batteries??? seems that they want to make money on bunchs of batteries sold to camera owners. Please stay away of this camera, unless you want to have something that deserves your angry and a your hammer! Pros: Lens cover. Cons: Too many for this space!

Silently Erased ALL My Pictures :-(
We have had this camera for a couple of years. Bought for our 9 year old to use. Overpriced for what it does, especially in 2010. However, the user interface in this camera has one HUGE fatal flaw - it will silently erase all pictures stored on the memory card without telling you. If you connect the camera to a computer to download pictures with it still in camera (verses picture viewing) mode it will erase ALL photos in the camera without asking or confirming. You must turn on the camera, switch to viewing mode, then connect to the computer via USB. If you forget to switch to view mode before connecting to the computer, you will lose all your photos. And you will forget, and make this mistake. More than once. And really really regret buying a product that should never have been released. This really shows how far HP has fallen in product quality. Amazing that a company would have the nerve (or stupidity) to sell a product with such a bad user interaction flaw.

Great Bargain Camera
I got this HP Photosmart E427 camera from a chain store as part of a bundle with a laptop and printer, probably would have never bought this camera by itself. I was very surprised by the quality of the photos. Pictures look good on the LCD screen, on the computer screen, and the prints looked as good as anything I have ever got with my old 35mm camera. There is no optical zoom, and the digital zoom only goes so far before it looks grainy, but overall, I am quite satisfied. It is pretty small, fits inside a jacket pocket easily. Just be careful not to accidently slide the lens cover open when it's in a pocket (it turns the camera on) and, of course as with all digital cameras now, don't break the LCD screen. The LCD screen is smaller than most other cameras, but still does its job nicely. I find myself carrying this around all day in my purse now, it's so convenient. Great camera for casual snapshots.

Horrible product support
I bought this camera for my daughter. It worked okay (my only complaint is that there is no audio playback for the audio, and the audio sounded really bad when played back on a computer). But then my daughter lost the battery door that covers the batteries and SD memory slots. It's just a little plastic slide in door...probably costs $0.01 to produce. But after spending many hours wasting time with HP's horrible customer support I now know that they will not sell me the part at any price. So my $80 camera is nearly worthless (yeah, we can use scotch tape to hold the batteries in). Anyway, the door is prone to fall off and get lost and HP isn't interested in solving the problem because there isn't enough $$$ in it for them. So don't buy it.

Good camera for the price...
I got this camera for Christmas last year, and over the time I've had it I've been pleasantly surprised. I will agree that the zoom on this camera is nearly non-existent, when you use it the photos turn out extremely grainy. Therefore, if you plan on taking pictures where you know you need a good zoom feature, invest in a better camera. For only $100, this camera is a great deal. The pictures turn out clear on the display, computer, and in print. It's a good choice for a casual photographer who is more concerned about capturing regular, everyday "Kodak moments" rather than a professional photographer, and should be judged as such.
I will also add that last 4th of July I used this camera to take pictures of the fireworks we set off, and those pictures turned out AMAZING. It does have a lot of features to take quality pictures if you play around with it.

Junky plastic trash
This camera is a piece of junk. I knew the moment I took it out of the packaging and held it in my hands. It feels like it could break any moment. It is not solidly constructed, the only weight comes from the two AA batteries you put in. Also be aware- It has no real zoom. The 5x optical zoom it has is the ONLY zoom in the camera. It was extremely difficult to get a photo that was not blurry out of this thing. It is cheap for a digital camera, but worth only $20 in terms of quality. I am taking it back to the store tomorrow.

Cannot recommend this camera
I bought this camera well over a year ago to carry in my purse for those "Kodak moments". Not much point in having a camera when you can't see what you're trying to photograph. I don't think I've ever seen a worse display. So it sits and gathers dust . . .

Someone needs an education
I've owned this camera for two years and haven't had one problem with it. My batteries usually last 400-500 shots. Very few of my pictures have ever turned out bad, and those that did were operator error. The only problem I have ever had with it is the red-eye. I have added photos on this site that you can view....you can see for yourself. I just "don't get" the bad reviews that other people have put in.

Nice camera (when it works!)
I've spent a small fortune on batteries for this camera and tried new and rechargeable batteries. It's gotten progressively worse and now (after 2 years) the camera turns on only occasionally and even then only when it's plugged into the battery charger. It's a shame because it's a nice camera when it's operating. Don't waste your money. Now I have to buy a new camera. You can bet it won't be an HP.

Not worth what I paid for it
Honestly, when I bought this camera at full price when it first came out, I thought it was a great deal. Boy, was I wrong. The camera is absolutely horrible on batteries. So when I actually wanted to use the darn thing I was never able to because the batteries were drained after having them in for about 20. I eventually just started popping the batteries in right when I used the camera to save them. The mechanism that slides over the view finder eventually gave up as well.
It did however deserve a couple of stars only because the picture quality of the camera proved to be not so bad.
In the end, if you're gonna spend money on a digital camera in the first place, I recommend shelling out a few extra bucks on a pricier camera. It will definitely turn out to save you frustration and the money it takes to work it in the first place.

Easy-to-use first digital camera!
I have never been good with cameras, but I bought the HP M22 in May 2006. I read the manual and tried all the features to learn how to use it. I took all the photos of my 40-yr. high school reunion, my sister's 70th birthday celebration, my trip to an organizational retreat, and made picture calendars for my family. This is a great little camera for the beginner to learn about digital photography. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 10!

HP PS935 PHOTOSMART DIGITAL CAMERA
Customer Review :
Pictures are ok, but EATS AA Batteries by the dozens.
While HP did a pretty good job with this camera, someone forgot to figure out how much power it takes to run it. If you have this camera, buy stock in a battery company just so that you can get some of your money back over the next few years. I have gotten as little as a dozen pictures out of a fresh set of batteries, to as many as 25 pictures using high end batteries 2800 mAh batteries. Rechargeable batteries are a mixed blessing. The hp photosmart 8886 docking station will recharge your rechargeable batteries when you put the camera in, but there is no trickle charger feature built into the docking station. This means that your batteries will charge up, but then sit without any maintenance cycle to keep them topped off for you. So, your batteries may well be dead in a week or two even though the camera was on the docking station. Not very well thought out at all. Optical zoom provides good pictures. Digital zoom starts going down hill very quickly to the point of not usable. The video clip feature is very choppy, so not that great compared with other cameras in this price range.
All in all, I'd pass on this camera if I were to buy another one. The battery eating power needs are just too great to make this a user friendly battery.
Rating :
HP 935 Experiences
I have owned this camera for approximately 2 1/2 years, and my experience has been very frustrating. Rarely do I get a good picture when using the zoom (very noisy). I have also experienced many problems with taking pictures indoors, and in low light. The most frustrating problem is that I can take multiple photos of the same scene with the same settings and get different results (some light, some dark, contrast inconsistencies, color inconsistencies). I have also experienced the battery drain problems that other reviewers have reported, but have had great results using Lithium batteries. About have the time, the camera gods smile, and the camera takes a great picture, but I've lossed two many precious moments to take another chance. Time to get a new camera.

Worst digital camera.... ever
I bought this camera at Sears about a year ago. It was origionally listed as $353 but I ended up getting it for only $118. This camera has MANY cons and hardly any pros.
-->The audio is junk. Anything above a whisper makes the audio clip so you just get this annoying loud ticking as audio (in videos and audio comments). It makes the video mode completely useless.
-->Picture quality isn't all too good. I expected much more from a 5.3MP camera than this one offers. The picture quality on it's highest setting is all but decent. It's barely acceptable in any other condition than high light outdoors photography.
-->The flash is HORRIBLE! There is absolutely no happy medium with it. it either over exposes the picture, or underexposes it. Any low light situation results in pictures with alot of noise and blurryness.
-->Battery life is NONEXISTANT!!! This is the absolutely worst feature of the camera. It takes about 5-10 pictures on a brand new set of duracell photo batteries (the kind that cost almost $10 for a pack of two). Recently I was taking pictures of my girlfriend and I went through 22 Duracel AA batteries.
The only pros of this camera is that it's digital and not film, and that it boasts a SD card that my laptop has a built-in reader for. I was much happier with my Cannon Powershot S10 2.1MP camera.
I own a nice 35mm SLR camera with many differnet lenses and accessories, and I now use that camera more than the digital becuase of all the cons this camera has. I would rather pay to get my film devoloped and have decent picture quality than use this digital camera.
Overall rating: 1/10 Would be good for a novice user looking to make printouts from a photo center or computer, but for anyone that has a slight interest in photography, you definately need to look elsewhere.

The Great and the bad
I really love this camera. I got it two years ago for christmas, and I can't explain how much I love this thing! The only problems I have are that its impossible to take pictures indoors. Like at a concert or graduation or something like that. And the battery life sucks. But if you purchase rechargable batteries, it works much better.

Best camera I've owned
This is the best camera I've owned...I regret I didn't use all the features it has and in fact I got a newer "mini" and it doesn't compare to my 935. Everytime I needed for a quick shot, and if the batteries were dead I'd slap in new ones not to find out on my new camera were dead and I need to recharge them. At the 5.3 mega pixcels it is great for most applications in that I'm not going to make giant posters but for 8 and half by 11 pictures are phenominal. I'm sure after researching the camera, I'll appreciate it's features....

I'm thinking of buying a Hewlett Packard E327 digital camera. Anyone have one?? What do you think??
Answer:
No, but I have the HP M417 and I find it to have a lot of potential. Once I get more familiar with it, I'm sure my photos will be more consistantly excellent. Great color. I'm sure the quality and features run in the family. :-)

Question : I'm looking for an instruction manuel for a hewlett packard camera. model 618?
have no instruction manuel for a model 618 hp digital camera. I'd like to find the web site where I could order one, the flash is not working. Not having the manuel, I can't find in the menu where the flash might be turned off.
Answer:
good luck. they never made an instruction manual so you'll be looking a long time. HP began outsourcing their camera manual writing at the time the 618 was produced. The first manual was written in Hindi and Farsi but not in English (I assume you're an English speaker? ) By the time HP rectified the problem using their Farsi translation software the camera was already obsolete and defective. There has been a class action lawsuit filed in Hosuton Superior Court over this issue and the Judge is considering placing a moratorium and injunction on future HP products

I have a Hewlett Packard Photosmart hp 315 digital camera, and the trap door for the batteries is broken. see if you can buy the battery door part separately. if not then I would suggest some gaffer tape. and just tape it shut.

Question : Is it true that realplayer version 10 can interfere with me sending pictures from my digital camera to my pc?
because i can no longer upload from my kodax easyshare cx7300 or my hewlett packard DSC 220 ? And does anyone know how i can get these working again please? i have tried installing the software again but it isnt having any of it?????? HELP.
Answer:
I haven't had any trouble with realplayer, mediaplayer or any other program and my digital pictures. I'd have a look for a virus first to see if this is upsetting your system - you'll have to reinstall if there are viruses abd they are removed - then i'd look at control panel, and admintration tools to see if your printer and digital camera are enabled.

Question : How to import photo's from HP E427 camera to iPhoto on Mac?
Right, here's the problem,I have a Hewlett Packard E427 digital camera. I have no Hewlett Packard software. I'm trying to import photo's from the camera to iPhoto on my macbook. When I connect the camera to the macbook using USB, iPhoto opens automatically but doesn't give me an (obvious) option to import the photo's.According to Hewlett Packard, you do not have to use their software to import photo's.What am I doing wrong? It's driving me crazy! Thanks.
Answer:
Here a few problems I see:1) Do you have the lastest update of iPhoto2) Go do the side of your iPhoto and look for HPE4273) If that doesnt show up, try it out on a friends Mac or Windows4) If all fails get a SD card reader, their like $20 so it snot that big of a deal.
