Love it!

Best Easyshare camera I've had.

I also have a Kodak Photo printer dock. I use a kodak kaa2hr battery pack in my camera that also charges while it sits on the dock. I'm telling you this is the MUST have set up. I never worry about using up batteries now. I never have a low battery light. It's great. I've had this camera and the same battery for nearly a year now with zero problems.

The camera itself takes great pictures. I'm very happy with it!

The only negative thing I can say is that you have to go to the menu to put on the timer. The old one I had, had a timer button right on it. Kinda of miss that.

what a piece of dogpoop

I bought this because I had an older Kodak digital camera with only 1 megapixel and it worked great for over 10 years. You could sight through the viewfinder and see your potential photo in bright sunlight, unlike this one which only has a screen and not a viewfinder so you just guess at what the pic will look like. Eats batteries, but that's not my main complaint. The goddamn thing only lasted a year and then broke. Amazon guaranteed it for 2 months so I'm out a camera and time to start shopping again. guess what brand I won't buy and guess who I won't buy it from.

Battery life is terrible

There is a problem with the camera constantly draining the batteries. Even if I do not use the camera, within a week the batteries are dead. I use the same batteries in my other digital cameras, no problem.

Very disappointed with Kodak customer service. After sending the camera back twice for repairs, the same problem continues. I asked for a refund at that point and they said that would not refund my money. They want me to send it back for a third time for repairs. Kodak says that they stand behind their products, just don't ask for you money back. That is not their policy.

Even when I called their customer serrvice line, one of the first options that comes up is "Are you experiencing a problem with a short battery life with your camera ?". Sounds like they know there is a problem, but they are just not owning up to it. Shame on you Kodak !!!

Great Little Camera

I bought this camera to replace one lost while traveling. I also needed one that would work on my printerdock, which, many of the newer Kodak Easyshares won't. This one fit the bill perfectly, was slightly smaller than my previous one, and took better pictures (more MPs). While I'm sure it's not studio quality, it's a great camera for traveling when space is at a premium.

poor battery life

The battery life of this camera is horrible. It did not hold a charge. Was able to return it which was great. I would not purchase this camera again.

Kodak EasyShare C190 Digital Camera Silver

Customer Review :

Easyshare C190 good value

I watched the price drop on this camera for a couple of months and then made the purchase after Christmas. Maybe end of year inventory cycles created the 2 week delay before delivery. I am a little disappointed in the picture quality, but it is still a good value for the price. The anti blur setting is a must if zoomed in at all and the red eye effect leaves a lot to be desired in close ups requiring the flash. Good quality, inexpensive cases for this camera are plentiful. I explored several lens zooms (up to 12x) and settled on this 5x as a compromise, since the longer zooms appear to require more power and reduce battery life. My goal was a higher quality, zoomable camera to use when my iPhone proves inadequate and this product fills the bill.

Great Camera

If you are looking for a great digital camera at a great price.....look no further. I was amazed at how great the pictures turned out. And the ease of use is head and shoulders above the other brands I have tried. I just sold my Canon because of the complicated menus and lag time. This Kodak has virtually no lag time and pictures I took out the side window of my speeding auto were perfect. Menu set up was very intuitive. No need for a manual in order to make really great pictures. Even at night.....in the dark! It is small enough to carry in my purse and I purchased the camera dock which keeps the batteries always fully charged and ready in an instant. The only complaint I have is with the EasyShare software which comes with the camera. That software is in dire need of an overhaul. And while the camera is very easy to figure out.;...I have yet to figure out that stupid software. I just go to My computer and go through my camera usb hook up and open and move picture where I want them. The older version of the Easyshare software would download and deposit your picture in the Pictures folder on your computer. But no so with this version. But the camera itself is well worth the money and I promise you won't be dissapointed. I have found Kodak brand cameras to be very reliable. I have another one that is about 8 years old and still makes beautiful pictures. I also purchased a Kodak ESP 7250 all in one printer and the camera works great with it. I would give it 10 stars if that were possible.

Good camera for the $$$

I really like this camera. It may not be the best camera out there, but for the price it's a pretty good deal. It takes better pictures than the previous Olympus 8MP camera I had.

In less than 6 months, it has had to be sent back for service multiple times

This camera is very easy to use and takes good pictures and video when it actually works. The smart features helps even a novice like me take nice clear pictures with little to no red eye pictures. It is small and looks nice too.

Then the bad -- I had the camera for about 3 months when it started. I had the exact same issue that some others wrote about - I wished I would have read more reviews before getting this camera but my husband wanted a Kodak since it is USA made. After about 3 months of use - not a lot of use, mind you - the camera lens would not retract back into the camera and it wouldn't hold a charge. I got a new battery thinking that was it - nope. I ended up sending it back to Kodak. The 1st time it went back, I reported the issue online and was able to return it without having to call customer service. Since it only worked for about 1 week after I got it back, I had to call the 800 customer service number. Not fun times. Kodak - made in the USA - appears to have outsourced their customer service to another country. I had a lot of trouble trying to explain that it still was having the same issues even though I had just gotten it back, sigh. Finally I said, please just let me return it for servicing. Lots of quiet on the other end and me saying, hello, hello, are you still there ? Finally the man on the phone agrees to let me send it back for servicing for the 2nd time - that took more than 20 minutes phone time - and I sent it back again. The group that serviced it was very responsive and sent it back within a week - but having this happen again for the 3rd time - same problem - is why I say no to this camera. It is currently working but I haven't used it much thinking it's going to die any minute. Kodak will not replace my faulty camera with a new camera I was told (if this continues before the warranty runs out) -- only a refurbished model.

Not really happy

Hi,
I have owned this camera for a little over a year and it has performed well. Last week when I needed it the most for my trip, it decided to have problems.

The camera would take only one picture, will not zoom and none of the other buttons functioned. I had to turn off the camera after taking one picture and turn it back on. It also took 2 tries to turn it off.

I contacted kodak support. I was disappointed with the responses I got, They wanted 90$ (including shipping) to take a look at the camera, because it was out of warranty. This is my second kodak camera that decided to die in two years.

Once it was clear that Kodak was not going to help me, I decided to take it upon myself to see what can be done. I opened the cover by unscrewing the little screws all around the camera. When I opened it, the zoom button fell right off. I have a feeling it was disloged somehow.

I put it back, put the battery in and decided to try it and everything started working again. Put the cover back on, and screwed everything back together and everything works now.

I am glad I dont have to buy a camera, but not glad about the kodak quality. Not sure how buttons can get dislogded.

Kodak m1033 - goes on then shuts off

I liked the picture quality but the battery life was short, so I purchased a backup battery. A year and a half later it turns on, then shuts down. I tried what Kodak support suggested, to plug to electricity bypassing battery with no luck. They estimate it will cost $80 to fix, and that doesn't make me happy, since I didn't use it very much in the year and a half I owned it. My husband's Canon is much older and reliable. I do not recommend this purchase if you want a product with reliability and longevity.

Questions & Answers
Question : I got a big Kodak digital camera, and after every photo I take it says?
"processing. . ." and it takes a long time. Why does it do this? My smaller digital kodak camera is quick and doesnt stop to pocess anything. When I'm taking my photography photos I don't like to wait 30 seconds between each snapshot. Can I fix this?

Answer:
Normal advice here - Read the manual. If you do not even know what your camera is then there could be a bit of trouble though. The size of the file will make a difference as will the speed of the card it is dumping to.If your "big Kodak Digital camera" is shooting in RAW format then the files will take longer to dump to the card but it should not be taking 30 seconds even with an old and slow card.Shooting jpegs in a lower resolution will speed things up but you are sacrificing quality for speed. Mind you I doubt you will notice anyway.

Question : What are the best rechargable batteries for a Kodak digital camera?
I have a Kodak Easyshare digital camera, 9.2 mega pixels. I have only had it for about a week and have been using normal alkaline AA batteries. They burn out super quickly!About rechargable batteries, can you tell me more about them? Like how much they are, how much money the chargers are, etc.? thanks!

Answer:
Try using AA lithium batteries.

Question : How do I create a photo and save it on the memory card for Kodak digital camera?
I have a Kodak digital easyshare camera and wanted to edit some photos and then print them at a local Kodak photo machine but am unsure how to load the edited photos back onto the memory card.

Answer:
Many computers today are equipped with card readers. If your isn't, simply buy one at a store where cameras are sold. They're very reasonable and easy to use.Windows will see your reader as a drive. Then simply copy / paste your files onto the card and you're done.

Question : Kodak Digital camera, c653, got dampened in water is it repairable?
I got the kodak c653 digital camera which got dampened, can it be repaired if yes whom do i need to show? i stay at hyderabad, please suggest..

Answer:
Electronics and water don't go well together. If it works after drying out, great. If not, the water probably caused a short circuit which would make it doubtful that it can be repaired. However, I've seen electronics survive water damage, but the battery was ruined. You might get lucky and get by with only having to get a new battery.

Question : Can a Kodak digital camera record footage from a TV?
I want to plug my Kodak camera into my TV so it can record video game footage. Does anyone know if this works? If anyone has done this before please assist me! I appreciate it!

Answer:
It might. You might have better results if you just buy a video capture card for your computer. It will be a lot cheaper too.

Question : how long can you record on kodak digital camera?
when i record on my digital kodak camera i can only record for 22 secs and i want to record for more longer can someone please help me .

Answer:
It depends on your camera model and your memory card.22 seconds is so short, you must be recording to the internal memory. The M1063 (for example) quotes a maximum of 80 minutes depending on card.

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.

Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.
