Nice little camera
This camera is great for the price. I'm not much of a photographer, so I won't critique the quality of its photos or movies, but I'm pleased with both.
My only complaint is that the camera doesn't seem to have a battery meter. Is it fully charged? Half charged? Who knows? The only battery-life indicator you get from it is an 'empty battery' image when the thing is almost dead. I've tried searching through the menus for a way to find or turn on a battery life indicator, but it's not to be found, apparently. What this means is that if you haven't used it in a while, you better charge it before you take it anywhere to take pictures, because you might not get much use out of it before it dies, and you can't know until it starts to run down. Of course, that can be a problem when you decide to go somewhere on the spur of the moment.

Lens focus noise is my biggest concern.
Likes: - Small enough to carry in pocket. - Battery life okay but I'd suggest getting a second as backup. - Focuses and shoots fast. (already on) - Smart capture usually takes the best/easiest photos. - Zoomable while recording video. - Long video record times. 30 mins. I think. - Hi resolution video.
Dislikes: - Sometimes, if the battery dies while the lens is extended it gets stuck out until you can get power to it again. When that happens, I usually wait a minute for the battery to regain a little juice then quickly turn it on and off to get the lens retracted. This is a bad design flaw. My old Kodak EasyShare DX6490 4MP Digital Camera with 10X Optical Zoom was smart enough to not allow you to extend the lens without enough juice and always retracted it just before dieing. - The lens is starting to make focusing noises after 2 months. My DX6490 did the same thing after 1+ years. You could hear the noise in recored videos. - Takes too long to shoot from being off and takes too long to turn off. - Switching between modes is a little slow because you have to go into the mode menu (dedicated button). - I assumed you'd be able to select aperture & shutter priority with this camera but you cannot. You can use presets like macro and landscape to suggest what you want but it's not the level of control I was looking for.
Disclaimer: I've only owned Kodak EasyShare cameras. So I have no experience with other brands. I've liked my past Kodaks enough to continue to buy them.

Not worth it :(
I typically love kodak and this is roughly my 5th Kodak Easy Share and I have been satisified with all of them. My last one broke after 1 1/2 years so I bought another one thinking it was a fluke. My current Easyshare M1093 did not live up to the quality I expect from Kodak. The majority of the pictures come out grainy and it does not take good pictures unless lit brightly. I switch to many different modes and none seem to help. Don't waste your money.

Survived the hands of orphans in Africa
Have kids? Fumble a lot? Just want an extra durable camera? Then get this one. My Kodak has been dropped countless times over and over again by kids in an orphanage who all fight over who gets to take pictures. Though it had a crack in the frame, it has not stopped working, which was quite the relief when I was first mortified and watched it drop.
The camera is just as good as any other point-and-shoot camera out there for those of us who aren't professionals or aren't extremely picky and just want a small camera to carry around. Sometimes indoor lighting doesn't work too well, but otherwise I have been extremely happy with the outcome of my pictures.
But seriously, what makes me give great reviews is the incredible durability I have found in the camera. It's been dropped all over South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe... this thing survives rock, sand, dirt, and grimy hands.

Kodak vs Canon?
Have had Kodak's & Canons. Prefer this Kodak Z 1015 to my Canon S5. Each to learn. Large LCD Window. Colors are very natural.

Full Featured Camera That Takes Excellent Pictures
This is a great camera for a person who wants a full featured camera at a reasonable price. The 15x zoom lens is fantastic and the image stabilization is a real asset. The view finder is also a big plus for those who don't want to only rely on the LCD. It is a larger camera. If you are looking for compact camera this isn't the one for you.

Love the color quality.
I bought this camera at Office Depot because it was on the clearance table for 150.00. Not only was it a great deal, but the picture quality is great. My husband purchased a 550.00 camera and I seriously like the pics taken on this one better. I took pics of my daughter at the park and when I printed the pics they were amazing. The pics of the slides and the playground was intense. The pics come out super bright. I put the pics up at work and people ask me what camera I used because the pics are great. Another awesome thing about this camera is that it is a point and shoot that doesn't require much effort. It is easy to use and you get great shots.

Just Add Batteries
One, it is a "keep it simple, keep it fun" camera for the soccer mom that won't break the bank if she leaves it in the stands. Two, She adds two AA batteries and does not have to worry about being away from a battery charging socket.

buyer beware
i bought one from walmart about 4 months ago, and it just randomly died and cannot be fixed. up to this point, it has been a very nice camera, but like i said, it gave no warning and just died on me after about 4 months of use. also, the batteries are a hassle, as it takes AA batteries. you also HAVE to have a SD card, or else it will not take video on it's internal memory...plus, you can only get about 10 pics or so on internal mem. you also have a SD card limit, though, of how many gigs the card can be...good cheaper camera, but if you plan to have it a long time, beware...

Great for eBay shots
I needed a camera that takes good indoor closeups of small items, and this one takes great shots. I am over 65 and not too great with technical things, but have managed to take some really good pictures. I find it harder to download to my computer folder for editing than the older Kodak cameras. Otherwise, it is just fine, and battery life is really good. An excellent camera for the price.

Not so easy
The camera is hard to turn on; that's really my one complaint. Takes several attempts. Early pictures were blury but there were better camera settings that eliminated that problem. This was a gift for my Parents who are not too technically savy. The on/off button is hard to push, poorly located and very small. I'm not certain that there is not a problem with this particular unit. Seems to be a huge lag between pushing the button and the camera actually turning on. It does take nice pictures with the stability setting turned on.

Handy little camera
Very compact and light. Always have it in my wife's pocketbook.Easy to use. Good pictures. Make sure you carry extra AA batteries as it doesn't take as many pictures as advertised. I would recommend it as a backup camera to carry at all times.

Question : Can anyone help me with my new Kodak digital camera?
I just got a new Kodak digital camera for Christmas so I was just messing around and decided to try it out. I installed the software that came in the box (disk) and uploaded a few pictures. Question : How do I create a photo and save it on the memory card for Kodak digital camera?
I have a Kodak digital easyshare camera and wanted to edit some photos and then print them at a local Kodak photo machine but am unsure how to load the edited photos back onto the memory card.
Answer:
Many computers today are equipped with card readers. If your isn't, simply buy one at a store where cameras are sold. They're very reasonable and easy to use.Windows will see your reader as a drive. Then simply copy / paste your files onto the card and you're done.

Question : I got a big Kodak digital camera, and after every photo I take it says?
"processing. . ." and it takes a long time. Why does it do this? My smaller digital kodak camera is quick and doesnt stop to pocess anything. When I'm taking my photography photos I don't like to wait 30 seconds between each snapshot. Can I fix this?
Answer:
Normal advice here - Read the manual. If you do not even know what your camera is then there could be a bit of trouble though. The size of the file will make a difference as will the speed of the card it is dumping to.If your "big Kodak Digital camera" is shooting in RAW format then the files will take longer to dump to the card but it should not be taking 30 seconds even with an old and slow card.Shooting jpegs in a lower resolution will speed things up but you are sacrificing quality for speed. Mind you I doubt you will notice anyway.

Question : Can i somehow put filters on my tiny kodak digital camera??
I have a small kodak digital camera, it's just plain digital. It doesn't even have a "mm" sized lense. Just a regular digital camera. is there a way to adapt lenses to it? would they be effective if i had to rig up something? or would the become deffective because of the distance between the lens and the filter?
Answer:
what sort of filters do you want to add to it? in this age of digital photography the only useful filter would be a UV filter for protection, any other effects could be replicated in digital editing. If you do want effects without editing, you could get away with holding up a filter to the lens but, really, why? and yes, the further you hold from the lens, the more distortion you will get. but hey, try it. no harm can come...

Question : How can I get a clearer picture on my Kodak digital camera?
I have a P850 Kodak digital camera and I can't get close up pictures ( of flowers, animals etc..) to be very clear. Any suggestions?
Answer:
well if you have the 24-140 lens than your minimum focusing distance is 2.0 - 20.4 inches in macro focusing range according the datasheet online i found for this camera.if you are staying within those limits and have the lens or camera set to macro it should be in focus. if not try using a tripod to keep the camera steady alot of times its you moving and you don't realize it. if not staying within 2.0-20.4 inches of your subject and you need to get further or closer try close up filters wich any decent camera store should sell and carry. or try buying a macro lens which only does macro. lmk if these solutions don't help- i love helping solve camera problems like this.

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.
Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.
