Garbage... pure rubbish!

My wife and I wanted to replace our aged Sony 3.2 MP camera. We were after something with good features, nice picture quality, and a large lcd for viewing and picture-taking. This camera did have all that and, at the time, got pretty decent reviews. We purchased ours and were quite pleased with it initially. Then it began to go from bad to worse:

1. My wife complained the pictures were blurry initially. I didn't have this problem, but believe it was due to a relatively long delay between pressing the button and taking the picture. An annoyance and not a concern if you use a steady hand.

2. If you are taking pictures indoors they'll be ok... just ok. However, the low light picture quality is not very good at all.

3. The final straw is quite common if you search the web: The camera won't turn on and won't charge. You try to turn the camera on and it will open the lens then beep and turn off. Attaching the camera to the charger (USB cable to a power cube or computer), the charging light comes on but stays steady green indicating a full charge. After several minutes, it goes off. That's it. There are many complaints about this and Kodak's only suggestion is you send it to them for service: at the cost of $88 plus shipping.

So, we're now out close to $200 and back to using our trusty Sony. It's a shame since the camera did have a nice display (as we wanted) and (I thought) the USB charging would be a very handy feature.

Do Not Buy!

I received this camera as gift last Christmas and within a year and a couple of uses it broke. Every time I tried to turn the camera on, after a few seconds it just shuts off. The battery is fully charged and it still does not work. I do not recommend buying this camera at all.

THE BEST CAMERA I'VE HAD YET!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAMERA, ITS SMALL, PRETTY, EASY TO USE, WITH GREAT QUALITY!!! THE BATTERY LIFE LASTS FOR MONTHS, LITERALLY!!! I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANY OTHER CAMERA!!!

Rating :

It is Junk

I rarely used it. Within one month it froze. Kodak sends it united camera for repair via warranty. I barely touched it in 12 months. Just on two vacations. Now it is doing the same thing and Kodak says too bad. Pay for the warranty. Don't buy it. I will not buy Kodak again

Nice little cheap point and shoot

I have had this camera for a couple weeks and used it for a Dodger Stadium trip last night- Manny Ramirez Bobblehead Night!
The construction of the camera seems a bit cheap, but so far the quality of the pictures has been pretty good. I wasn't expecting a whole lot for under $100 but it takes nice crisp photos.
I used the video feature last night when Manny hit a grand slam and they uploaded just fine to my computer.

great deal for $25

Takes OK pictures. Fair amount of noise. Not a big fan of the interface (clunky and non-intuitive). Slow to turn on and shut off. Macro setting not great. But for $25 I'm totally satisfied/

Had my camera since 2005

When i got this camera it was terrific, I bought the batteries with it. They last about 2.5 years and suddenly no longer would keep a charge. So i went and bought a new set of batteries same thing. I'll put a fresh set of batteries in straight off the charger and the camera tells me they batteries are almost dead. Yet when i put the batteries in a game controller or anything else after charging them, they are perfectly fine. Will NOT buy another Kodak. In fact, I'm waiting on my Canon Rebel to get here. It got me through but won't buy another one.

Horrible Horrible HORRIBLE!

When I received this camera, I understood it had been used previously. What I did not expect was to find battery erosion in the battery compartment. I also did not get the memory card as promised. I'm highly dissatisfied.

Rating :

worked only twice

This camera was good for the price but has the last owner's albums, and they can't be deleted, which is funny.

I got to use it twice before it broke.

Rating :

OK while it lasted

This was an OK camera and did basically what it was supposed to do. Found the battery pack didn't last very long and the dock setup bulky. The camera itself was functional, although not terribly responsive. I owned it about 2.5 years and got about 2 years of reliable use. Doesn't seem that great a deal over the long haul.

Question : Best Kodak Digital Camera, or Digital Cameras in general?
I'm planning on buying a digital camera soon and I was just wondering which Kodak Digital Camera is best. Some of my choices include: Kodak Easyshare V1273, Kodak Easyshare V1073, Or the Kodak Easyshare M883. I was also wondering if Kodak is a good Camera brand & if not, Which camera do you consider is good.

Answer:
Why Kodak? It's not a good brand for "Cameras" believe me.I'd suggest to go through some reviews before you make your decision. My favorite site for this is: www.dpreview.com (You may need to know the basic elements in digital photography to make a good choice)Finally, I'd go for Sony, Canon, Olympus, or Panasonic. Those are the really good ones.Good Luck...

Question : Can a Kodak digital camera record footage from a TV?
I want to plug my Kodak camera into my TV so it can record video game footage. Does anyone know if this works? If anyone has done this before please assist me! I appreciate it!

Answer:
It might. You might have better results if you just buy a video capture card for your computer. It will be a lot cheaper too.

Question : How can I get a clearer picture on my Kodak digital camera?
I have a P850 Kodak digital camera and I can't get close up pictures ( of flowers, animals etc..) to be very clear. Any suggestions?

Answer:
well if you have the 24-140 lens than your minimum focusing distance is 2.0 - 20.4 inches in macro focusing range according the datasheet online i found for this camera.if you are staying within those limits and have the lens or camera set to macro it should be in focus. if not try using a tripod to keep the camera steady alot of times its you moving and you don't realize it. if not staying within 2.0-20.4 inches of your subject and you need to get further or closer try close up filters wich any decent camera store should sell and carry. or try buying a macro lens which only does macro. lmk if these solutions don't help- i love helping solve camera problems like this.
