Long lasting - great deal
This was my first digital camera that I purchased in 2005. I bought a refurbished one for almost 3/4 of the retail price, which was a great deal. As of 2009, I still have this camera. It has served every purpose needed. The thing I like most about this camera is that it starts up in about 1 second, and takes a picture very quickly. I am always sniper shooting people. It is on the bigger and heavier side, but when it came out it was the real deal. The zoom is really good and can get really close. The only problems I have are taking pictures when its fairly dark, and with some light. I am looking for a new camera, but that is only because I want a smaller one, and this one is so scratched up. I highly recommend this camera.

Lens Brakes easily
this camera worked well, until the lens stopped working one day. now it just makes a grinding noise. from looking online, this is a common problem. the outside is metal, but the gears inside are just soft plastic.
Rating :
good for outdoor shots
This is a great little camera if you do a lot of outdoor photo shoots of still objects. I have 3 small children, and it doesn't work too well for my photo needs. I take lots of indoor pictures which most of the time turn out pretty dark unless I have it super bright in my house, but that isn't very often. I tried to take pictures at my son's kindergarten graduation in his classroom, but it was too dark to get even one shot. I had to get video of him to be able to see him at all. Not so great for kids in motion either, they are blurry.
Video option is great though. I guess I use this option most on my camera. I have had this one about a year, and I am going for a canon with IS (image stabalization) now. I will retire this camera to my husband.

Love this camera
This my second one. I destroyed the first one I owned and searched the internet to find another one. I bought an 8 megapixel kodak, but didn't like it nearly as much. I finally found a refurbished one and bought it immediately.

Poor Design and Even Poorer Customer Service
LOVED this camera until it broke one year later. I mean it completely broke. It's dead. The battery power died during a photo shoot and killed the camera. Now it won't even turn on. See my post in the forum on this page for more info. The short of it all is, do NOT buy Kodak. My GF has a Canon Elph and it's far more amazing than anything Kodak makes. Plus if you ever have to deal with Kodak's customer service...well, let's hope you never have to.

Good. While it works.
I got this camera for my birthday, and it worked exceptionally well. I was in love with it because of the ease of use, the wide pan shot, and the seamless transition from camera to computer without any sort of issues.
While it worked.
Not even a year after I received it, it no longer worked. I was very careful with the camera. I didn't drop it, didn't expose it to any sort of liquid, and handled it gently. I was a general user with no extraordinary needs from the camera. One day, the battery drained very quickly and the camera shut off. Thinking I just needed to recharge it, I did so. The camera never turned back on. Not completely any way. It pretends to for about a second before shutting off again. Thinking it was a battery issue, I had it checked to make sure I didn't just need to purchase a new battery. The battery was fully charged. I made numerous attempts to get it to work, from bringing it back to the store (to have them tell me it would be cheaper to buy a new camera than get this one repaired) to visiting the completely useless Kodak site whose best suggestion to solve my problem was for me to put the battery in the right way. Right. Thanks a lot for nothing.
My suggestion? Do not buy this camera if you want a digital camera that will last you more than a few months.

DO Not Buy
I bought this as a replacement to my Canon 4MP digi and it failed miserably. Going back to Canon for the rest of my life. My new Canon SD790IS is AWESOME.

Horribly grainy
This is the worst camera I have ever owned. After a month of having it, the firmware got damaged and had to send it back. Upon getting it returned, the pictures were worse than before. No matter where you take your pictures, they will always be grainy. It is very poor in low light conditions, and even worse in daylight. I do not recommend this camera at all.

You don't have to spend a lot to get a great camera.
I just purchased the Kodak M863 digital camera and I couldn't be happier with it. It is easy to use and takes very good pictures. I have one very small problems with the camera. The user manual could have a been a little more informative. Not to worry though, you can get all the information you need on Kodak's web site. They also have a great support team . They can be contacted via the telephone and you actually get a real person to answer all your questions. This is a great little camera and for the price you can't beat it. Buy with confidence.

I am not impressed
This camera has been a headache since I got it last year. The major flaw that I have found is that the flash is entirely too bright. Most of my pictures with the flash come out looking like things are glowing. I have tried playing with the flash but it doesn't work.
Another issue I have with it is that it takes too long to get the picture. Again, I've experimented with settings but it doesn't help. The pause is long enough to screw up any posed shots (someone thinks the picture was taken and moves) and forget action shots.
If anyone moves, the picture gets a blur. Oh and let's not forget that sometimes parts of the picture seem blurry even without anyone having moved.
I can't wait to find a better deal on a camera and get rid of this one. I had an older easyshare before this one and LOVED it. This one, not so much.

First Time I've Been Disappointed With a Kodak
Though Kodaks aren't known as a top quality photgraphic tool, this is the first time I've ever been disappointed in one. I've owned other Kodaks, but this one didn't give the picture quality I expected. It hasn't been used since the first time for this reason. The higher end Kodak Easyshares, such as the 700 series and up are great and are incredible values, but this one I cannot recommend.

CONSIDER THIS BEFORE YOU BUY- LCD BREAKS/OVERPRICED
I cant believe they are selling this camera for 300 bucks. I bought it for my husband last year for 140 (tax included) at Best Buy I think.
Anyways I really hope noone spends that much.
The cons of this camera are what people mentioned: slow lag time when you push down the button to take your pic (maybe 1 second after you push it down) Flash is very bright, software sucks HORRIBLY. THE BIGGEST CON IS THIS: The LCD screen breaks extremely easily, even if you put the camera in a case. The camera was in its case, and in a small carryon suitcase (we were the only ones that had it and were careful with it) and somehow the LCD screen still got cracked. Upon looking for replacement LCD screen, I found out they cost 55 not including shipping. I also saw many many other people posting reviews and complaints about the LCD screens cracking.
There is a viewfinder on this, but it makes the camera almost useless. If you buy this camera please dont spend 300 and make SURE you are the type who will be extremely delicate with this camera, and even if you put it in a hard case, the screen might crack. I read about a pen in a girls purse cracking the screen. It is also quite bulky.
One cool feature is the Panoramic setting. You can link many pics for a huge pic. Too bad I cant use anything without the lcd screen! :(

Lacks durability
I bought this camera for my wife 2 years ago (i.e.,Jul 2007.) I liked the camera and my wife did as well. The camera was seldom used and looked brand new when it quit (never dropped, wet or dusty & kept in soft case when not in use.) The lens stuck in the out position and nothing I tried would make it return, it quit taking pictures as well. The repair price was $80 plus S/H to Kodak and $91 plus S/H to an independent repair place. Except for the durability issue the camera was the best one we had. Sad to say Kodak may be the best brand around but it's another brand for me. Durability is the number one priority for me since my pockets are not full of cash.

Makes my video camera obsolete!
What I like: Great photo and video resolution Auto mode that picks the right mode most of the time Battery charges inside the camera from any USB port or with the supplied AC adapter. Slick design with a large view screen The cool joystick control.
What I don't like Camera is so small it is easy to hit the shutter button by accident when you are reviewing photos. Takes a while to learn to press the shutter half way to focus before taking the photo. While zooming taking a video the picture goes out of focus for a few seconds. Need extra software to convert the videos to burn onto a DVD that will play on a DVD player
Great camera, anyone can take great photos. I really like that I can charge the battery inside the camera just by plugging in the supplied cable into any USB port. The HD video is better then my mini DV camera. I need three software programs to convert the videos and burn them on a DVD, but the results are great. The supplied Owners manual left out a lot of information. You really need to go to the Kodak internet site and read the extended Users Guide online to learn all the features of this camera. I'm really happy with this camera and would recommend it to anyone. Don't forget to order a few 8GB SD cards and the extra batteries and external charger.Sandisk 8GB SDHC Memory Card (SDSDB-8192, Bulk Package)2 BATTERY+CHARGER FOR KODAK KLIC-7004 V1073 V1273 M1033

i like kodak
when my last kodak died, i knew i wanted another. this one is really fun to use. it is small and cute, and really easy. i gave it a 4 only because it doesn't have a view finder (which makes it hard to see what you are taking a picture of when it is sunny outside) and the pictures aren't quite as clear as i expected...although my expectations may have been a little higher than they should have. overall, i would reccommend this camera!

Made to last...
At least one day beyond the warranty period! Purchased July 11, 2009. This camera died while still under warranty; however, our daughter was overseas visiting family and we were not able to return the camera until she returned home yesterday (1 year, 2 days). HP support had us on hold indefinitely, so we hung up after 30 minutes and sent an email. Disappointed that the camera lasted barely 12 months. Our daughter takes good care of her property; this item was not mis-handled or abused. We neither endorse nor recommend this product.

Displeased with Kodak M 380 10.2 megapixel
Displeased with Kodak M 380 10.2 megapixel
I purchased this camera for my mother. I noticed after comparing photos taken with my Canon SD 850 IS that the photos were very grainy. I took several photos of the same subjects in the same light and found that the Canon photos were MUCH better. I called Kodak 800-235-6325 and after repeating everything I said to the technician several times, without him answering any of my questions, as to why the photos were so grainy, I asked to speak with his supervisor. He simply hung up on me.

Pictures are grainy in low light
I wanted a slim point and shoot camera that I could take anywhere. Well , this camera has all those attributes, but the picture quality is horrendous. I have a six year old Sony that is only 5 mega pixels that takes much better photographs. Photos taken with this camera in low/indoor light come out grainy. I am not one to return products, but this camera is useless to me, and I am returning it.

Question : Best Kodak Digital Camera, or Digital Cameras in general?
I'm planning on buying a digital camera soon and I was just wondering which Kodak Digital Camera is best. Some of my choices include: Kodak Easyshare V1273, Kodak Easyshare V1073, Or the Kodak Easyshare M883. I was also wondering if Kodak is a good Camera brand & if not, Which camera do you consider is good.
Answer:
Why Kodak? It's not a good brand for "Cameras" believe me.I'd suggest to go through some reviews before you make your decision. My favorite site for this is: www.dpreview.com (You may need to know the basic elements in digital photography to make a good choice)Finally, I'd go for Sony, Canon, Olympus, or Panasonic. Those are the really good ones.Good Luck...

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.
Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.

Question : Kodak Digital camera, c653, got dampened in water is it repairable?
I got the kodak c653 digital camera which got dampened, can it be repaired if yes whom do i need to show? i stay at hyderabad, please suggest..
Answer:
Electronics and water don't go well together. If it works after drying out, great. If not, the water probably caused a short circuit which would make it doubtful that it can be repaired. However, I've seen electronics survive water damage, but the battery was ruined. You might get lucky and get by with only having to get a new battery.

I have a Kodak digital easyshare camera and wanted to edit some photos and then print them at a local Kodak photo machine but am unsure how to load the edited photos back onto the memory card.

Question : Can i somehow put filters on my tiny kodak digital camera??
I have a small kodak digital camera, it's just plain digital. It doesn't even have a "mm" sized lense. Just a regular digital camera. is there a way to adapt lenses to it? would they be effective if i had to rig up something? or would the become deffective because of the distance between the lens and the filter?
Answer:
what sort of filters do you want to add to it? in this age of digital photography the only useful filter would be a UV filter for protection, any other effects could be replicated in digital editing. If you do want effects without editing, you could get away with holding up a filter to the lens but, really, why? and yes, the further you hold from the lens, the more distortion you will get. but hey, try it. no harm can come...
