Nice little cheap point and shoot
I have had this camera for a couple weeks and used it for a Dodger Stadium trip last night- Manny Ramirez Bobblehead Night! The construction of the camera seems a bit cheap, but so far the quality of the pictures has been pretty good. I wasn't expecting a whole lot for under $100 but it takes nice crisp photos. I used the video feature last night when Manny hit a grand slam and they uploaded just fine to my computer.

Do Not Buy!
I received this camera as gift last Christmas and within a year and a couple of uses it broke. Every time I tried to turn the camera on, after a few seconds it just shuts off. The battery is fully charged and it still does not work. I do not recommend buying this camera at all.

Garbage... pure rubbish!
My wife and I wanted to replace our aged Sony 3.2 MP camera. We were after something with good features, nice picture quality, and a large lcd for viewing and picture-taking. This camera did have all that and, at the time, got pretty decent reviews. We purchased ours and were quite pleased with it initially. Then it began to go from bad to worse:
1. My wife complained the pictures were blurry initially. I didn't have this problem, but believe it was due to a relatively long delay between pressing the button and taking the picture. An annoyance and not a concern if you use a steady hand.
2. If you are taking pictures indoors they'll be ok... just ok. However, the low light picture quality is not very good at all.
3. The final straw is quite common if you search the web: The camera won't turn on and won't charge. You try to turn the camera on and it will open the lens then beep and turn off. Attaching the camera to the charger (USB cable to a power cube or computer), the charging light comes on but stays steady green indicating a full charge. After several minutes, it goes off. That's it. There are many complaints about this and Kodak's only suggestion is you send it to them for service: at the cost of $88 plus shipping.
So, we're now out close to $200 and back to using our trusty Sony. It's a shame since the camera did have a nice display (as we wanted) and (I thought) the USB charging would be a very handy feature.

It is Junk
I rarely used it. Within one month it froze. Kodak sends it united camera for repair via warranty. I barely touched it in 12 months. Just on two vacations. Now it is doing the same thing and Kodak says too bad. Pay for the warranty. Don't buy it. I will not buy Kodak again

Good Camera but....... 4gb sd card does not work
This is my first camera, bought it on Black Friday of 2003 for $299 (included a free 128mb card) I've taken over 6000 pictures with this cam, a majority of them are good. However, nighttime pictures do not come out very well.
Since then, I've bought a 256mb card, upgraded to a 1gb.. Yesterday bought a 4gb Transcend card and it did not work :( Checked the Kodak site, found no firmware upgrade available, stuck with firmware v1.000

Simply an Excellent Camera
I bought this camera 5 years ago during a Black Friday sale for $140, and its best some of the best money I've ever spent on any piece of electronics. Rarely is a tech product good enough to remain useful nearly 7 years after its debut, but I still use this camera all the time.
The camera takes beautiful shots, especially outdoors. The optical zoom is great, and always provides a clear picture when employed. The flash is good, though you do need to be careful about redeye. The facial recognition software is great, and for the time this camera was made, was absolutely fantastic. The image stabilizer is really great as well. It was one of the first camera's Id used that let you focus by holding the shoot button down half way, letting you take instant shots with no delay. (If you dont realize this, your shots will take forever, and will always end up blurry, I think many buyers dont realize this).
5MP is more than enough for most people, I end up shrinking down most of my photos anyway. A few people mentioned interior photos are too dark, but if you give the camera a second or two to adjust, or manually change settings, Ive had no problems at all.
The camera is exceptionally durable. After my friend crammed a broken SD card in the slot, the sd reader rarely works, but I can't blame that on the camera. It spends most of its time getting crushed under text books while my backpack is being thrown around, and the though the plastic cover for the LCD screen recently cracked (the screen is still 100%) Ive never had any problems whatsoever.
The only downsides are only a few downsides. This is a large camera. Though not oversized for the time, modern consumers will find the camera very bulky and a bit heavy. It's comfortable in a pants pocket, but its the only thing you'll be putting in that pants pocket.
The other big downside is the battery. While it claims AA batteries are usable, they really aren't. You need to buy http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-MAX-CRV3-Lithium-Battery/dp/B0000632T3 or equivalent. When I first bought the camera, these were expensive, which was a major downside. Now however, they're only about twice the price of 2 double A's for the Duracell brand, and they last a for a long long time. I can count on my fingers how many times Ive changed the battery in 5 years. I dont have any experience with rechargeables on this camera.
The only other improvement I can imagine is allowing longer video clips. Each video clip is limited to 60 seconds. This is enough to make it useful, but it would be great to be able to record for hours to an big SD card. You also cant zoom in or out whithout stopping your video shot and starting again.
Overall a great camera. If you happen to come across one I'd still recommend it against most new cameras for the price. The camera feels more like a film camera than a digital camera, and this could be nice for not so tech savvy people.

Great Pictures Even By 2010 Standards
Very rarely do I like a product enough to take time to write a review, but my old friend the Kodak DX4530 deserves some love.
I bought this camera "like new" in its original packaging at a local pawn shop in 2004 - about a year after it hit the market with a $400 list price. This camera was made before you could buy a 10 MP camera new for $75. I paid $75 for it used and it has proven to be money well spent. It is our "go to" camera for point and shoot use.
Every family gathering we attend, this 5 MP camera routinely outperforms newer model cameras with larger file size capabilities. The sister in-laws with 8 and 10 MP cameras are perplexed by their cameras inferiority to the DX4530 and always ask how we take such great photos.
One cool feature this camera possesses is that it actually has a viewfinder (you know, the little glass window folks used to peer through for a preview of their shot) in addition to an LCD screen. I am not aware of any point and shoot digital cameras made with a viewfinder now. The viewfinder is good for two reasons - (1) it allows you to save money on batteries by disabling the "live view" LCD screen, and (2) it reduces camera shake when you press it against your face to take a photo.
I really don't have a problem with the lens cap and "bulk" I have read others complaining about. Compared to the 35mm's I grew up with this thing is tiny.
This camera has been a real workhorse over the last 6 years. If you can find a used one in good condition I would jump on it. It will take photographs comparable with many of today's point and shoot digitals.

I've hated this camera for 4 years ...
I just bought a new camera today, and while linking this page to show the old one to some internet friends, I figured I might as well review it ...
Man, I am SO glad to be rid of this thing. I mean, sure, it takes satisfactory pictures, I love the docking station, and it's lasted this long (and is still in decent shape), so I guess my dislikes are just a matter of being picky. Anyway, I hate the d-pad control on this model. I thought I hated d-pads in general, but I have realized that it's THIS d-pad that I hate. It really sucks. And it's about shot after 4 years of use. I hate that it has a lens cap instead of the lens that automatically shutters itself. I hate that it's so bulky. It has terrible hand-feel, it's difficult not to stick your fingers into the shot. I hate how long it takes between the time you push the button and the time it actually takes the picture. I hate that you can't do any editing through the camera (I had a sony previously, and you can crop, take pics in sepia, black and white, etc, you can brighten, etc, etc, right ON THE CAMERA). And I hate that the editing software sucks so bad (am fully aware I could use something else, and I readily admit that I do not know how). I hate that it takes TERRIBLE close-ups even in close-up mode (I know you love the highly technical terms I use). I hate that my mother-in-law's cat knocked my sony off the top of her entertainment unit 4 years ago, and THIS is what she replaced it with as my xmas present.
I just really hate this camera.
It works though. I guess that's something ...

A great camera
Even though this is an older model that is no longer sold new, this is my second one. It's a great camera with good features. Best to buy an extra memory card since the internal memory is limited.

Don't waste your money.
I received this camera as a Christmas gift in 2007. I loved it... at first. The pictures could be grainy at times unless you really worked the settings. My biggest problem with this camera is that at about 8 months of use it quit working! It wouldn't power up correctly.
It was still in warranty so I sent it to be fixed. It came back acting a bit funny when powering on. The buttons on the top would flash but not in the correct order and the lens seems to have trouble as well. The noise when powering on was also much louder and just didn't seem right.
After about two months of use, it stopped working again! When I tried to turn it on, it gave an error stating 'high temperature' and immediately powered down. This was impossible because it was never in ANY environment with high temperatures. I used it mostly inside in temperatures around 70 degrees! It was never left in direct sunlight, etc. Now, it's not giving any message, the screen stays black, the lens starts to open and it powers down.
I checked the Kodak website and went through the tutorial to figure out what the problem was, yet again. It stated that I would have to send it in AGAIN, only this time it was out of warranty and the repair would cost $160!!! That is more than half what this junk costs new! I did some research online and found message boards of numerous other people having this exact same problem, but they want to charge us to fix it???
I will never buy from Kodak again. They obviously cannot guarantee quality and refuse to stand next to their product when a design flaw is discovered!

I purchased this camera (used) to replace the exact model that had gotten damaged. The used replacement doesn't take as good pictures as the original, no clue as to why. Pictures aren't as crisp. Good enough for my purposes.

Kodak does it again!!
I bought my V1253 a few years ago and have loved it from the first day! I use an SD card and when the cards gets filled up (350 pix for a 1-gb card)I save it and put in another one! Nice screen. Battery stays up for a long time without being recharged! I carry it in my pocket and just love it. I'm very satisfied with it.

Gotta Love My Kodak...
I've got to say I love this 6.1MP Kodak digital camera, beside my Canon rebel Xsi of course (like a professional camera)... But for a small n convenience camera for on the go, nothing can be better than this v603 camera... When I bought this camera 3 years ago it was like $299 and now the price cannot get any better than this... This 6.1MP kodak took better picture than the 8MP Casio... Best pictures/videos quality... Trust me, u'll love the qualities that this camera offer... If this camera ever decide to say bye to me, I'm searching for another exact same one... =)

Seemed Great at First.... THEN
I bought this camera 15 months ago and at first it worked great. I had an older model that my daughter dropped and was just past the warranty and it was going to cost $100 to fix so we opted to get a new and updated version for a few bucks more because it just wasn't worth fixing for so much money. The camera took nice enough basic pictures though I still had trouble with red eye, any pictures taken in low lighting came out dark, and enlarging shots after cropping made them grainy.
Then while taking some Easter photos of my girls the camera just went dead! I didn't drop it, or mistreat it having learned my lesson after the previous one! I kept getting an error message and thought it might be the battery so I bought a new one and tried that - still wouldn't work! The lend will not retract and the screen goes on for a few seconds and then goes black with an error message before shutting off! Of course it was going to be another $100+ to fix since it's past the warranty!
I have given up on Kodak! It's obvious that these cameras are not meant to last for long term and regular use! I have 2 small daughters and love taking pictures of them all the time! I was very disappointed that we could not get our Easter pictures this year!
Overall, if you're looking for a basic camera this is ok but beware after your warranty is up - these cameras are costly to fix!!

Grandson B-Day
I got this camera for my grandson six birthday, he love it the pictures are very good and he has learn to take very good pictures with it. I will use this seller again.

picture quality is NO GOOD!!
Pros- The camera is adorable and tiny, with the easiest to use menu system I've seen on a camera.
Cons- THE PICTURES!!! I had an old Kodak EasyShare that took great pictures. Unfortunately, it was stolen while I was on vacation and I bought this one. It takes terrible pictures! I can get decent shots outdoors in the bright sun, but anywhere else and they are dark and blurry, or with an unflattering flash. No matter how still I hold it, I get that stupid red hand.
Also, the body is falling apart, all the screws have fallen out.

Best Camera I Ever Had Before My DSLR
This little camera was my best friend for several years.
I originally got it for my Yearbook class at school, but then took it everywhere with me and that is how I really first got into Photography.
It may have limitations, but limitations can't stop a true photographer. You have to improvise with what you have. Sometimes it would take 100 shots to get that one perfect shot, but once you got that one perfect shot, the rest were worth the hassle.
It was surprisingly extremely good at Macro Shots, which used to be one of my most favorite forms of photography.
Not very good with night photos, or long distance shots (the Zoom really dampened the quality of the photo)
The battery also never lasted very long, barely an hour or so, even when I got a brand new battery, so I always kept it charging/brought the charger with me on trips.
I finally got an upgrade to DSLR after having this camera for over 3 years. Now that it's at the end of it's life, the Battery barely stays charged for 10 minutes, it can't zoom out very far without dying, but I still keep it handy in case I don't have my bulky DSLR with me to get that quick shot.

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.
Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.

Question : I got a big Kodak digital camera, and after every photo I take it says?
"processing. . ." and it takes a long time. Why does it do this? My smaller digital kodak camera is quick and doesnt stop to pocess anything. When I'm taking my photography photos I don't like to wait 30 seconds between each snapshot. Can I fix this?
Answer:
Normal advice here - Read the manual. If you do not even know what your camera is then there could be a bit of trouble though. The size of the file will make a difference as will the speed of the card it is dumping to.If your "big Kodak Digital camera" is shooting in RAW format then the files will take longer to dump to the card but it should not be taking 30 seconds even with an old and slow card.Shooting jpegs in a lower resolution will speed things up but you are sacrificing quality for speed. Mind you I doubt you will notice anyway.

Question : How do I create a photo and save it on the memory card for Kodak digital camera?
I have a Kodak digital easyshare camera and wanted to edit some photos and then print them at a local Kodak photo machine but am unsure how to load the edited photos back onto the memory card.
Answer:
Many computers today are equipped with card readers. If your isn't, simply buy one at a store where cameras are sold. They're very reasonable and easy to use.Windows will see your reader as a drive. Then simply copy / paste your files onto the card and you're done.
