Awesome camera

I recently purchased this camera for a trip to Canada. It takes great pictures! Especially at night using the night mode. I got some awesome pictures of the Falls at night when they were illuminated. Almost like professional pictures - very clear. Great value for the price.

Great little camera.

I recently received this camera as a b'day gift, and I couldn't be more happy with it! Right out of the gate, one of the first things you'll notice is it's size, which is small to say the least. I've got a Blackberry 8330, and it's much smaller than the 8330 is. Secondly, you'll immediately notice how quick this phone is to turn on. It will only be a second or 2 after hitting the power button that the phone is on, and immediately ready to take beautiful pictures. The quality of all the pictures I've taken thus far are great, and I've not had any problems. I will say, make sure to press the button half way, then fully push the button and take the shot. If you quickly press the button all the way, the camera will most likely not take a picture that's focused. Anyway, I recommend the camera, and hope other people out there are enjoying it as much as I am.

Great camera for $100

I recently purchased this camera because it is smaller than my old 2 Megapixel Canon. It has all the basic features that the average photographer should need and takes fine quality photos. Why pay more? It's a great camera for a modest price and I highly recommend it.

Not the Greatest

I had a Samsung BL103 for awhile and it was my first digital camera. I loved it! But when the autofocus died, I figured I'd just get a new camera than pay well over the original price to get it fixed. I found this camera and thought it was great! At first. The noise of the camera focusing is very annoying. I read that they all do this, so I just thought I would get used to it. Wrong. After a month and a half of daily use, it drives me nuts! But still it seemed like a good camera so I could overlook the noise if the pictures and video were good. The pictures were ok. I have better shots I took with a disposable camera, but then again I did not really mess with the settings all that much. For most of my pictures I just want to take the picture, not have to go into the menu and change a bunch of stuff. My biggest complaint would have to be the video. At normal zoom, it was ok. But as soon as you zoom in at all it is so pixelated that you can barely tell what you are recording! I was not all the way zoomed, just a little bit, not sure of the exact number. I do have to say that the sound was good. My old camera would cut out as you are zooming, but this one was still recording sound. I think I am just going to fork out the money and get a canon...

Kodak Easyshare M341 Digital Camera

First bought this camera to replace my wife's stolen camera. Liked it a lot and purchased another to replace my Nikon Coolpix 4300 which cost nearly 4 times as much.

For us, the criteria were that the camera was inexpensive, had a rechargeable battery with charger, uses SD memory cards and very quick first and subsequent shots. The large LCD viewing screen is nice and the controls are pretty intuitive. Photo quality is excellent.

I'm not a huge fan of the Easy Share software because it tends to take control of the process of importing the images to the PC. However, it is very functional and Kodak seems more marketing-oriented than some other brands.

Bottom line: very good value for under $100. I recommend it.

I haven't used the camera very much but very pleased with every aspect at this time.

Great camera!

I ordered this camera because I have another Kodak Easyshare at work and found it to have a long internal battery life and to be lightweight while taking excellent pictures. Since that was what I was looking for at home I knew Easyshare would be my choice. This model is even more intuitive than the one I have at work, like recognizing that when I've inserted a memory card that I want the camera to use it, rather than having to program it that way. This, of course, is necessary as the internal memory is incredibly limited. The battery life if amazing. I love that the internal battery makes it really lightweight and it lasts for a long, long time. I've taken oodles of pics and about 5 different 2-3 minute videos and I still have about 70% of the battery available. The picture quality is great- it snaps quickly and action shots turn out awesome. It has performed well in different types of light, including bright sunlight and darkened rooms. I am not a serious photographer by any means, but it does everything I need it to do and more. I am also happy with the video quality.

In short, I love this easy to use camera and feel like it is a great quality camera for the price.

Nice Camera

I bought this camera to use for general picture taking. It seems to work well and is easy to use. I've had no problems with it and have been very satisfied. I like the fact that it is small and lightweight. The color is pretty too.

it's fun to share!

love this phone, it is soooo easy to use. takes standard sd card which is nice, no special equipment to buy. just point - shoot - and share. the reason i gave it 4 stars is because i had to go to kodak site to download software, otherwise this camera is great1

Great Point and Shoot

I love this camera. It is compact, comes in cute colors, has a vivid screen and takes crisp, clear pictures. I'm no professional, but for an on the go college student this has surely passed the test. It outshines my old camera (a samsung) and I have yet to get a blurry picture, even when taking shots of mountains while driving at 60 mph. The new share function on the new Kodak line is awesome as well! One small thing I also ended up liking alot was the small grip area (the greyish black part on the side); makes the already light camera super easy to hold. Amazing fast face recognition too. Overall, two thumbs up if you're looking for an easy to use camera that takes awesome pictures!

not as good as expected

Many of the photos came out blurry, but others are fine. Not sure if it's any better than the older, cheaper Kodak I normally use.

A great Kodak camera!

My first digital camera was a Kodak DX6440, which was a fantastic camera back in it's day (2003). After the Kodak, I had a Fuji J20, which I was very unhappy with; very noticeable vignetting (dark corners) with all of the pictures. I decided to go back to Kodak and so I purchased the M530. Very happy with it! The feel of it, the image quality, user interface is all very very good.

Pictures are incredibly crisp, clear and accurate for a sub $100 camera. The smart capture mode works very well too and is reliable.

There are a few minor annoyances though. One, the camera doesn't remember which mode to start up in. It automatically defaults to smart capture every time the camera is turned on. This is somewhat irritating since you aren't likely leave the camera on for a long time between shots, and if you want to take pictures with more manual control, you will need to select the mode you want every time the camera is started up. Luckily, the user interface is pretty well designed though where you don't need to hit a dozen buttons to do what you want to do.

Two, the auto white balance can be somewhat unreliable. I find that colors either turn out too cool (blueish tint) or too warm (redish tint), although some shots turn out perfectly. The problem seems to be exacerbated when taking pictures of landscapes. The angle of the sun also affects the white balance selection. Turn towards the sun and you may get different colors than you get turning away from the sun. I would say the auto mode gets it right about 70% of the time.

Lastly, because this camera uses a very inexpensive lens, there is some minor light falloff present in some of the pictures. I find that it is only noticable when the sky takes up a large part of the scene in the picture. You'll notice a very gradual darkening as you move towards the two upper corners. The problem is minor though, and for most people it shouldn't be a problem. I, however, find it annoying.

Overall though, this camera is a fantastic buy. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cheap, yet decent quality point and shoot.

Captures Life's Special Moments with Ease

This is my 3rd EasyShare. The first was dropped into water and stopped working. The 2nd ended up with a cracked screen (though it still took great pics!). After the last one broke, I thought I'd just look on Amazon or go to Best Buy and get the up-graded model, mine was only a year old afterall. NOPE. Can't stand the new model. The buttons are too close together, hard to navigate, etc. So I started searching high and low online for the old model or just an up-grade or so. Finally found it at *gulp* Wal-mart (where I paid about half of what you see quoted above).

I LOVE this model. Very similar to my last one, but easier to use. The layout is very functional, settings are easy to manipulate, and I get great pics everytime.

Friends have much more expensive cameras and while they're struggling to get them out of their fancy camera cases and change all the settings, I just pull my EasyShare out of my pocket, point, and click. I've captured the moment and they've let it pass.

This is an easy to use camera, great quality, at a reasonable price.

I do have to say, though, that the EasyShare SOFTWARE stinks. I've had it crash several computers and never have gotten it to work. My mil's computer also died after she installed it. You don't need it. I just use either my HP printer software or Windows photo. Don't bother loading the Kodak software.

Pleased in Arizona

I bought this camera for my daughter who is a hair stylist. She needed a good inexpensive camera for capturing styles that she creates. We were presently surprised at the picture quality and would recommend this camera if price and quality are what you're looking for.

11 yr. birthday present

I purchased this as a birthday present for my 11 year old niece. Lucky for me she loves the color green. (green was on sale even cheaper) I didn't want to spend too much for it because she's 11, but I wanted something that would take great pictures/movies. She loved it. It was her favorite present. She won't stop taking pictures and now her mom's camera is safe. I can understand why it doesn't come with a memory card, but I think all cameras should come with some kind of case. It bothered me that I had to buy a case from another seller. charging and connecting to the computer are easy-it came with that cord. Using all the settings is a little confusing for her because there are a lot, but she's figuring it out. All in all a good purchase.

At last a camera with micro USB charging

This camera charges through a single standard micro usb connector. When you connect the camera to your computer it charges as you transfer your pictures. No need for a separate plug-in charger or another proprietary cable while travelling. I am unaware of any other camera that has this feature.

Question : Can you play Kodak digital videos from a digital camera on anything else besides a computer?
I have a Kodak digital camera and have home movies that I took with it saved on my computer. They are erased off of the camera memory now. I also have them saved on a flash drive. I'm trying to find out if the videos or pictures can be viewed on something else like an ipod, from the flash drive, or if you can burn them to a DVD or something like that. Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.

Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.

Question : Can a Kodak digital camera record footage from a TV?
I want to plug my Kodak camera into my TV so it can record video game footage. Does anyone know if this works? If anyone has done this before please assist me! I appreciate it!

Answer:
It might. You might have better results if you just buy a video capture card for your computer. It will be a lot cheaper too.

Question : Is there a way to restore pictures saved to the internal memory of my Kodak digital camera?
My digital camera is a Kodak EasyShare CX7430. I had some pictures on the internal memory and they got erased, and unfortunately it seems I cannot restore them. When I hook the camera up to my computer, it recognizes it as a device, not removable media. I would be willing to do anything, as I am also going to contact Kodak. Since the camera doesn't work anymore anyway, I would also be willing to take the camera apart. Please help me! I have tried numerous programs and so far nothing works. Thank you!

Answer:
I've looked and looked, and I haven't seen any way of recovering photos from internal memory. With a media card, you are able to mount the card as a drive and search it for missing files. With internal memory, there's no way for any recovery program to access the memory, since it is accessed by the camera's proprietary software interface. Here's the support page for your camera.http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn027989.jhtml?pq-path=1931You should be able to find the tech support contact info there. Hopefully they will have a better answer than mine.
