Battery life is horrible

I've had my v530 for over three years now.
It's a very cute camera and the design is very fine.
It is very easy to navigate, as well.

But the battery life is horrible.
Even if I charge it fully, within 5 minutes of using it, the camera tells me that half the battery is gone.
And within another 3 minutes, it tells me that the battery is almost all gone.
I'm probably one of the worse examples, but I am in no way exaggerating.
I have to constantly remind my friends not to review pictures after they take them because the battery runs out even faster when you review.
And I feel pressured for time when I'm trying to enjoy making memories and taking shots of them.

The charging of the camera can also be a little bit annoying.
Personally, I was okay with it, but I don't think everyone would tolerate the need for a dock to charge the battery every single time.
It does take more than enough space in my luggage bag when I travel.
Just another thing you should contemplate before purchasing this camera.

Terrible Battery Life

Camera has terrible battery life, seller did not mention this at all in the advertisement. Additionally came with piecemeal accessories, such as a charger from a PSP... seriously? The surface was dinged and the display was poor.

They have come along way since this camera

Was very easy to use and took fast nice pictures, was dropped once about 2 days after I bought it and it completely broke, Got a refurbished one from Kodak and the camera never worked right, it eventually went completely out after the warranty was up of course. Did take good pictures while it lasted though.

This camera has never let me down!

I have owned this camera since the day it first hit the market and it has never failed me! I also bought the docking station and a 128 mb card. It takes outstanding photos and the macro closeup feature is SO handy for taking Ebay selling photos! I have more than gotten my money's worth out of this camera over the years. It has been to Mexico, the beach all up and down the east coast and I have it to thank for tons of wonderful memories! I use an Energizer Lithium photo battery and they last a long time. I will have to say that I don't care for the rechargable batteries but that isn't the camera's fault! Overall, the only thing I would have to say I wish were different is the viewer size (maybe that's because I am getting old!). I have just learned to snap away and load them on my computer when I get home. There aren't many that I delete! As with any camera, if you use the lcd viewer to take your photos rather than the viewfinder, you will use up you battery MUCH more quickly. I buy a Lithium CRV3 battery for about $10 1x per 6-8 months and that's with pretty heavy use! Overall, a work horse of a camera!

Horrid.

I just bought this camera and will return it promptly. The camera is big, bulky and heavy. I found the camera difficult to use as the 1.5 inch LCD screen was too small and not very clear. The photos also came out rather fuzzy; nothing as sharp as my previous Pentax Optio 20 camera. Besides the LCD screen, the camera looks exactly the same as other Kodak film cameras. Neither does it have movie mode.
Don't buy this camera- it's not worth the money.

long time user here

I have had this camera since it first came out. I paid around 400 dollars for it then, including the dock, an expanded card, and the carrying case. I had no trouble with it, even loaned it out extensively to family, until I dropped it onto cement - twice. Now it will not hold a charge, even off the dock. My fault. The only down side is that the camera would not take close ups which makes Ebaying a bit hard! Otherwise, it has been a very reliable camera.

long time - heavy use - great camera

I have had four digital cameras over the years. This is my third Kodak. I've had it for maybe three years.

About a year ago the battery compartment clip that keeps it shut broke off. Pretty flimsy. Since I have a rechargable in there, however, I just crazy glued it shut and recharge it on the base. Works great!

I abuse this camera quite heavily. Its had sand in it, causing the little lense cover to fail to open. I just fiddled with it and picked at it to clear it out.

Its gotten wet from being in my back shirt pocket in the rain on a bicycle ride. It has fallen many times onto hard surfaces. It is a tough little beast and it takes great shots.

Many of the bad reviews are about battery life. That's not really the camera, and these reviews aren't fair. This is only my second rechargable battery pack, and its still holding a full charge after over a year of very heavy use.

Kodak EasyShare M753 7MP Digital Camera

The Kodak EasyShare M753 is a nice camera. It is reasonably small and has a lot of features. I was unfamiliar with some of the features that came with it which the manual did not describe. It wasn't until I went to Kodak's web site and found manuals that described the features. I am still getting used to the camera and learning about it but so far I really like it.

Customer Review :

The D215 Millenium

The Kodak DC215 is a great little camera. I have had mine now for over a year and I've got to say it was the best choice for an entry-level camera I could have made. I have taken over 2700 pictures since it's purchase and have learned a few things since I first snapped a shot in March 2000. First off, all the complaints that have been leveled on the battery usage are nonsense. The reason most people seem to have trouble running through lots of batteries is that they leave the LCD screen on. If you set the LCD to only review the shot you have just taken, you will find your battery life will extend dramatically. Secondly, I have found that any shots I have taken while the LCD is active loose some of their crisp quality. If you read reviews for any other digital camera on Amazon, you will find that most people complain about battery life So battery life is really a non-factor when choosing this camera. The quality of photos, especially indoor shots is fantastic. The outdoor shots, though, seem to be not quite as sharp as the indoor ones. I can't explain the reason for this, only that it happens. I use different online services for photo printing (Ofoto, Shutterfly) and my photo quality at 4x6 or 5x7 is great. 8x10's will be pixelated and not look that great, so stick to the smaller sizes. If 8x10's are a priority, go for a camera with a higher megapixel rating than this one. Overall, this camera is a great buy for someone who is looking for a little camera to take regular shots of friends and family for the internet or going to print smaller prints out.

Fantastic - but battery clip trouble

I have had my camera for a couple of years and generally find it very easy to use, portable, with good features.
But I have had trouble with a small clip breaking off inside the camera body that holds the battery holder in place. I have been told it is not worth repairing. So now I have to use heavy duty tape on the camera to have it function.
If anyone has any ideas about it could repaired at a reasonable cost please get in touch. I live in New Zealand

Great Picture Quality

There is something to say for the ease in usage of this camera. The user will not be bogged down with tons of choices, or a large users manual trying to figure out how to turn the camera on or how to get great photo's. When it comes down to it, you just need to point and shoot, or possibly zoom in. The zoom is easy, the flash is easy, and the settings are simple and straight forward. The only drawbacks I have found ..limitations on the zoom..would have been nice to have a longer zoom range, and the time it takes to load the picture to the flashcard...just about 10 to 15 seconds, but it cuts down on repetitive shooting of pictures. Sometimes you want to take photos one right after another, and this camera is a little slow on that. But otherwise, the photos are crisp and clear and are of better quality than alot of the higher Megapixel camera's out there. Sometimes oldies are goodies...

Terrific camera!

I purchased this camera as an entry to the digital camera arena about a year ago. Kodak was preferred over the others notably for the company's reputation. I am still delighted with the camera and use it often. To date I have taken well over 1000 pictures. This camera works beautifully, the images are crisp and clean and is an excellent value for the recreational user like myself. We are in the market to purchase a larger memory card. 8mb is sufficient for day trips but quite small for longer vacations or family events. For complaints about battery life, I strongly recommend purchasing rechargeables. Not only for this, but for all digital cameras.

Rating :

Still the best

I have tried newer cameras with higher megapixel capabilities, but have yet to find one that is as satisfactory as the DC215. Most importan to me is the field of view the 215 provides, without additonal lenses. It is simple, easy to use, and produces qulaity pictures.

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.

Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.

Question : Is Kodak digital camera battery Lithium CRV3 3V rechargeable?
I had a new Kodak Z8612 digital camera. I introduce in it the CRV3 battery that I had get with the camera. I made about 10 -20 pictures and a few films in about 5 days. And then the battery stop working. Is it rechargeable? Should I buy a battery charger?

Answer:
No. This battery is not rechargeable. The recommended battery for your camera is the KLIC-8000 Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery. Try the KODAK Li-Ion Rapid Battery Charger K8500 Bundle with Item # 8018566 that costs $44.95. This item includes a charger and a klic 8000 rechargeable battery. Question : Is there a way to restore pictures saved to the internal memory of my Kodak digital camera?
My digital camera is a Kodak EasyShare CX7430. I had some pictures on the internal memory and they got erased, and unfortunately it seems I cannot restore them. When I hook the camera up to my computer, it recognizes it as a device, not removable media. I would be willing to do anything, as I am also going to contact Kodak. Since the camera doesn't work anymore anyway, I would also be willing to take the camera apart. Please help me! I have tried numerous programs and so far nothing works. Thank you!

Answer:
I've looked and looked, and I haven't seen any way of recovering photos from internal memory. With a media card, you are able to mount the card as a drive and search it for missing files. With internal memory, there's no way for any recovery program to access the memory, since it is accessed by the camera's proprietary software interface. Here's the support page for your camera.http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn027989.jhtml?pq-path=1931You should be able to find the tech support contact info there. Hopefully they will have a better answer than mine.

Question : I got a big Kodak digital camera, and after every photo I take it says?
"processing. . ." and it takes a long time. Why does it do this? My smaller digital kodak camera is quick and doesnt stop to pocess anything. When I'm taking my photography photos I don't like to wait 30 seconds between each snapshot. Can I fix this?

Answer:
Normal advice here - Read the manual. If you do not even know what your camera is then there could be a bit of trouble though. The size of the file will make a difference as will the speed of the card it is dumping to.If your "big Kodak Digital camera" is shooting in RAW format then the files will take longer to dump to the card but it should not be taking 30 seconds even with an old and slow card.Shooting jpegs in a lower resolution will speed things up but you are sacrificing quality for speed. Mind you I doubt you will notice anyway.

Question : Can a Kodak digital camera record footage from a TV?
I want to plug my Kodak camera into my TV so it can record video game footage. Does anyone know if this works? If anyone has done this before please assist me! I appreciate it!

Answer:
It might. You might have better results if you just buy a video capture card for your computer. It will be a lot cheaper too.

They burn out super quickly!About rechargable batteries, can you tell me more about them? Like how much they are, how much money the chargers are, etc.? thanks!
