Editorial Review :

The Logitech Pocket Digital lets you capture the action anywhere up to 52 images at 1.3 megapixels each. Its Autobrite technology gives you bright the lights and dim details, so you always see the whole picture. Logitech Pocket Digital - it fits in your pocket, and fits life in the fast lane.

Best cheap pocket digital!

My family of 3 each has one of these for 3 years now and they are great. Our "good" camera died the night we were packing for Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. We took our Logitech cameras and got fantastic pictures. We always have them in our pockets for city (we live in NYC) walks - you never know when you'll see something neat. If they get lost (hasn't happened yet), no worries. The usb charge is fast too. Oh by the way, a full charge lasted on our cameras past the 2 week vacation with hundreds of pictures taken.

bogus

I bought three of these cameras. The first one was lost when it fell out of my husband's pocket while he was trail riding. The second was lost when it fell out of my husbands truck while he was on a trip. The last one had a problem with the battery not charging. This is when we found out that the camera had an internal battery that was not replacable.
I e-mailed the company and they told me to call the company. I called and called and was never able to get through. I then called the sales branch of the company and he told me that the best time to call was 7:00 am my time before the rush. While this was quite awhile ago. I never did get through to anyone. And I have a worthless camera that was used for less than 6 month.
My advice to anyone looking at this camera is to run the other way.

Great gift for a child's first camera!

My ex bought this camera for my daughter who is 13 and promised if she could take care of it he would buy her a higher end camera. She's had it for a year now and it goes everywhere with her. It's great to take to school outings with her friends, to the beach, or anywhere else she wants to go. You have to be in very bright light for it to work, but you can't beat the portability. The quality is good enough for her and she posts pics on her MySpace all day long! LOL If you don't want to spend tons of money the first time out for your kids, this is a great option! It holds up to around 50 pics at a time!

Dead battery

I can no longer charge the battery. And there is no apparent way to change the battery. This is a piece of junk! Logitech should take it off the market.

Rubber duckie I love you.

I thought my score for this camera was one lost, two killed. then I found No. 3 wedged in the car seat and it works!!!!! It was wedged for two years. and the last two pictures were still good!!. How did I kill those two ?? One got stuck in an escalator and was bent when the guy got it out. The other was hiking with me in freezing weather and was in my rear pocket , could be it got frozen, could be it didn't like that sliding down slopes.
These days I own a Nikon D70. It does every thing a camera should. But it doesn't fit in my pocket. It requires forethought and careful setting up and, gasp, reading the manual to get better pictures. Im even afraid to carry it while riding a bike. I'm medically insured but it is not.
I bought all three Logitechs for considerably less than the current price and was intending to use my phonecam instead of the Logicam, but now I have my Logicam back I am happy and promise to be more careful with it. `

Question : can i use a Canon camera as a webcam?
Yeah, i was wondering if i can use my digital camera (Canon digital IXUS 40) as a webcam? i googled it, but i didn't find a good answer for it. ah well, im using a logitech webcam, which sucks. and my friends told me that i can use a digital camera, so i was wondering, does it really work? and how?and yeah, if i cant use it as a webcam, can i use it on the computer in some other way? thank you for your time :)

Answer:
The answer to this VERY common question is nearly always "No". Read your manual - if it was possible, you can be sure your manual would tell you how to do it.Even if you COULD find the necessary drivers, software etc, why would you even WANT to use your still camera (think of all the wear and tear on camera and batteries), when a $20 web cam does a perfectly wonderful job of it and can remain all hooked up and ready to use?Had you bothered to do a quick search, you would have found MANY answers to this.

Question : how do you take a picture on the pocket digital camera from logitech?
my friend gave me the pocket digital camera from logitech and i dont know how 2 take the picture could someone help please??

Answer:
If it came with a manual, read it.If it didn't, just keep pushing buttons and hope for the best. When you have a toy like that, you can't expect too much from it, so just go with the flow and cross fingers.

Question : Whats the best quality web cam, with still images, and video?
...Because I've had the Logitech Quickcam 5000, and the Logitech Quickcam Communicate Deluxe and I am not impressed! I dont expect it to take pictures and record like a digital camera that would be ridiculous but for $85 dollars I should have quality!

Answer:
i suggest canon hg10

Question : The battery for my Logitech Pocket Digital Camera is broke. Is there a battery that i could replace it with?
I already contacted their customer service and they said that they could not replace it and that it was unlikely that I'd find a replacment that would work. However since the battery is too weak to hold a charge I'm willing to try anything despite the risk. The camera is not the 130 model, if that makes any difference.

Answer:
I think you are out of luck. It seems that you have an older digital camera. Most digital cameras become obsolete after approx two years. If you know the part number of the battery (from usr manual), google for it. Try ebay as the last resort. If every thing fails, get a new digital camera. Try to buy brand names like Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Kodak or Sony. I am sure you get a better digital camera for the amount of money you paid few years back.

Question : How do I get a file or helpsheet for a Logitech Pocket Digital Camera M/N:V-UP17?
that explains the functions of the camera buttons and also is there a battery that can be replaced because it is not holding a charge.ThanksThanks for the responses. I looked into the suggestions and was not able to find any results. I had been all over their website and would contact Logitech as last resort.I found the manual and a .pdf technical sheet at amazon where someone was selling the same camera.Thank you all!

Answer:
Have you tried Logitechs website? They have a support tab at top of page. They always have good support

Question : Should I get a VistaQuest 5 MP Digital Camera or Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX 1.3MP webcam?
My mom said she would buy me a digital camera, because I told her about one I seen on walmart's website which was cheap (we're on a budget) so we can't afford digital camera's that are over 50 bucks, it sucks but as long as I have something to take pictures of myself/with friends it's alright. What i'm wondering is, the VistaQuest 5 MP Digital Camera any good? like will the pictures I take be clear and not all pixely? and is there a screen on the back where you can see the picture you took so if you don't like it you can delete it...like most digital camera's? -- I'm stumped really, I don't want to get the VistaQuest 5 MP Digital Camera and turns out the pictures suck.. or should I get a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX 1.3MP webcam instead? and would it be better than that camera?Scratch the Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX 1.3MP, I checked Wal-Mart's website and it's not there (Unless I check with the person who sold us this laptop he owns a computer/supplies shop) if he doesn't have it would a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX, 961464 be any good? they have that one at wal-mart.

Answer:
For less than $50 you're not going to get a great digital camera. You get what you pay for...and for less than $50 you're going to get toylike cr*p.The 5.0MP Vistaquest has a very small LCD screen (1.5"). And it ONLY has digital zoom. For good image quality you need optical zoom. If you do decide to buy it...then make sure you NEVER zoom, because your images will be very 'pixely' if you do.It comes with no internal memory or card, so you would need to buy a card. You would also need to buy good batteries (rechargeables are best). Unfortunately, the camera only uses AAA size batteries. If you want better quality and features (not a great camera, but ok enough), you will need to spend a little more ($80-$100).I actually own the Logitech Communicate STX webcam. It's a good webcam...so it you need a webcam, you would probably think it's ok. But don't expect to take fantastic still photos with it. It's a webcam, after all...That other webcam (961464) is IDENTICAL to the Quickcam Communicate STX you wanted...it's the exact same one. The number is just the product code.
