Questions & Answers
Question : What is the BEST Canon or Nikon digital camera for MOVIE's w/SOUND and in LONG LENGTHS?
Hey there! I am looking for a Canon or Nikon digital camera that records long, good quality movies with sound. Can you recommend?
Answer:
I would get the Canon Powershot TX1. Most compact digital cameras shoot video at 640 x 480 but this one shoots at 1280 x 720. That's a huge difference. The sound is in CD quality. It can shoot nonstop up to 4GB (which is only 13 minutes as the highest setting).

Question : Are my nikon F55 lenses compatible with nikon digital Camera`s?
I have a Nikon F55 35mm SLR and I was wondering if my lenses are compatible with Nikon digital SLR`s? I have an AF NIKKOR 28-100mm and an AF NIKKOR 70-300mm. Just wondered if its possible to upgrade to digital by just buying a digital camera body.
Answer:
Yes and no.If you buy a Nikon dSLR, like a D80 or better, yes This means cameras like the D100, D90, D200, D7000 and D300 can use those lenses in the fully auto-focus mode.Entry level cameras like the D40, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100 those AF lenses must be manually focused using the electronic rangefinders in those cameras. Only AF-I and AF-S can auto-focus with entry level Nikon dSLR's

Question : Do I need a special flash for my Nikon Digital Camera?
I need a larger flash for my Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital Camera with a hot shoe, and would love to be able to use the trusty Vivitar Thrysistor 283 that worked so well with my old SLR, but the Nikon manual warns that flashes not specifically made for Nikon Digital Cameras may damage the camera through some kind of electronic feedback. Are they just trying to sell me a $300 flash unit, or is this a valid concern?
Answer:
Yup, it is possible for an old flash to fry a camera due to the trigger voltages. You can check this site for more info on that http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html. Cross reference your flash against the table there. In any case, using an older flash would probably mean a loss of i-ttl (for nikon) or e-ttl (for canon). You would need to use auto/manual flash then. In addition, the camera may also act funny (e.g. my old metz on my canon 20D will always give me a 1/200 f5.6 on program mode. I have to use it in manual mode instead.

Question : Can you use Nikon lenses for film cameras on your digital camera?
I was told that Nikon digital camera lenses are interchangeable with Nikon film camera lenses...the difference being that lenses made for the film cameras cost significantly less than those made for the digital cameras. Does anyone know if you this is true?

Question : Can a Nikon digital camera double as a webcam?
I have been wanting to get a digital camera for awhile now. I had a webcam, but something happened to it and I do not want to have to replace it AND get a digital camera, when I know that some cameras can also be used as webcams. I know that Nikon is a good company but I do not know if their cameras are webcams. If they do not make those types of cameras, can anyone tell me what makers DO have a good quality camera + webcam for a decent price?
Answer:
not possible

Question : Looking fo a good lens for good price for my Nikon digital camera?
this is my camera i needa better lens that zooms in ad out more than the 18-55 lens!!Megapixels: 6.1 Megapixels Optical Zoom: 3 X Lens System Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm lens LCD Screen Size: 2.5 in Recording Method SDHC Memory Card, MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital (SD) Card Camera Type Digital camera - SLR
Answer:
I suggest you stick with Nikon lenses. The original manufacturers lenses are almost always better. A very popular choice right now is the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom. I provided a link below. It is not the cheapest lens out there but it has a great zoom range. For most people this is the only lens they will ever need.http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/408518-USA/Nikon_2159_18_200mm_f_3_5_5_6G_ED_IF_AF_S.html

Question : Will the lens of an old nikon camera work on one of the new digital cameras?
I have a nikon 8008s camera with three lens for it. If I buy a new nikon digital camera will these lens work on the new camera?
Answer:
Lenses for an F801/8008 would all be Ai or AF/AF-D. They would almost certainly NOT be AF-I/AF-S (the F801/8008 can't operate the autofocus motor in AF-I/AF-S lenses). They would mount on any Nikon digital body. The two gotchas would be:1. Ai lenses (except for the fairly uncommon Ai-P lenses which are actually AF-D lenses without autofocus) would get no metering on anything except the D1/2/3 or D200/300/700.2. AF/AF-D lenses would not autofocus on a D40/D40x/D60Another important thing to note: Except on a D3/D700 all your film lenses will behave like longer lenses on digital bodies, due to the 1.5x crop factor of the smaller sensor.
