Recommanded..
Somebody told me, Olympus has a great camera with great finishing result. This was the advice but i have to choose my own. I want camera that have a great features but at affordable prise. I searched too many camera for as per my requirement. and I got this camera's webpage. At first, prise was high, but after sometimes it suddenly dropped. Its panorama feature is totally awesome. and i decided to purchase Olympus stylus 7000. And I'm really satisfied with it. It is light-weighed and has Good battery, nice effects. these all are good things about that. . Now there is just one bad thing that i have experienced is after taking photo, you have to wait sometime to take another. otherwise its easy to use. and recommended by me.

I have always liked Olympus cameras, but this one is great. I especially like the beauty feature. It automatically beautifies your image. The camera is great and it is a good deal.

Olympus Stylus Cameras Are Best
I just bought this camera to replace a camera that was stolen, and have to say that Olympus definitely makes the best cameras. Though many friends and family members have problems with difficult to program and use cameras, I have never had a problem with mine. This camera is lightweight, pretty, and takes an amazingly clear picture. The controls are easy to figure out and I like the software that comes with the camera.
The only negatives are you need to buy a memory card separately and the buttons are not made for large fingered people.

Loaded with features
This camera has so many settings its hard to know where to begin. I guess I will figure it out eventually. It does not feel overly sturdy. After a week it makes a funny sound when the lens goes in and out. Time will tell

Great camera
I actually just lost my camera :( and after reading up on other cameras out there, I will be buying the exact same one. The pictures are very clear, the color is nice, battery life is really good, extremely portable, and the videos are pretty good. I read a professional review somewhere that said that if you take a lot of pictures indoors that this camera was not for you. Well, I am no professional but I have taken a LOT of indoor pictures & they all turned out great. In fact, my husband is in Afghanistan for the next year so I have literally taken 100s of pictures of my son over the past 5 months & I have absolutely LOVED the picture quality indoor & out.
My one complaint is that picture-to-picture time is a little slow (meaning that you take one picture & it takes a minute to let you shoot another). I also enjoyed the mode where the camera kept shooting as long as you held down the button (so when you flip through the pictures it's like watching a slow-mo video - this allows you to get every single shot), but picture quality was not as good in that mode. I've looked into other cameras in this price range & slightly higher but MANY reviews say that the picture quality is lacking. Even with my few complaints about this camera, picture quality is great & that is why I will be buying it again.
I am obviously not a professional, or even close to it, just an average person looking for an easy to use camera with good picture quality. But if you are a professional or someone who really dabbles in photography, you should probably be getting a more expensive camera anyway. For an average joe, and for what you pay, this is an excellent camera!

Most camera phones are better...
We bought this camera as a temporary replacement when our much better camera was stolen while we were on vacation. This thing chews through batteries at an unbelievable rate. The picture quality is very poor, the focus does not work well at all, and most of the automatic functions have little or no effect on the photographic outcome.
I know it's cheap, but there's a good reason for that... stick with your cell phone's camera or spend a few extra bucks for something else.

This model aka X-21 (does anyone know this?)
Puns intended--searching the product as printed on the box and camera is scarce on the Google pole. My original review below follows the first line (update, in a way). You'll have to look on the Master 2 software CD-ROM to find out this camera is in fact the FE-26/X-21. Having found that out, please disregard some of the following, but if you want to read forward, imagine what if you just received the X-21 and wanted to look at the reviews before opening the package, or you didn't like the results and wanted to find out what others have to say? To confuse or not to confuse...
I can't find any information on the Olympus X-21 (when you type that in Amazon's search box, it comes up with irrelevant items), but after some searching on Amazon, this FE-26 model perfectly matches the model and features. Perhaps European models of any given camera will confuse Americans, right? I have noticed this with another camera (apple to orange), the Samsung HZ25W (America)/WB5000 (Europe) (in the aspect of confusion so you can't find what you want).
Why don't I like this camera? Before I explain, for under $100, it is very good, but cannot be compared to a far better model such as a $400 Panasonic Lumix.
I received this as a gift for community activities where I live, and am very grateful for the person who sent it to me (but I must be honest and realistic about the quality of a product--I feel it's the right thing to do). Just tested it out and found (even the screen will tell you) that, if you look closely, the image quality indoors and out (regardless of lighting) is very crude, and the Image Stabilizer is highly ineffective. I think this is a problem with Olympus compacts, because a friend of mine has an older 8 megapixel that takes blurry photos in any light. Why so? Its CCD sensor is very small, the main issue, I guess.
What had me flabbergasted was the X-21 takes only 10 or 11 seconds of VGA-quality video (isn't that bad compared to some higher-end compacts, actually--its quality in low light outdoors is fine, but very noisy indoors, as with the photos). There is no sound in the clips because there isn't a microphone--not even a speaker. Given that almost every digital camera nowadays records movies with sound, at least in mono. True, it was common for digital cameras over five years ago that could shoot only 15 or 30 seconds of video, and this camera is well below that standard alone--reminiscent of digital cameras turn of the millennium. I don't recommend this camera at all. In fact, I wouldn't ever buy an Olympus camera. Sorry if I sound too harsh, but this had me quite stymied at the time of this review.
Not that I don't know what I'm talking about--at least if you could find anything about X-21, someone else that might know something differently about this model could find something inaccurate. One site does have this model, but appears it was discontinued, right? What X-21 seems to me is a prototype that was renamed to FE-26 (the closest guess I'd make, really). By the way, the X-21 in question is black, if that helps any. If you want a better camera under $100, try a different brand.
Three stars for its limitations that fall in its price range, and for a model name that very few results for it appear in Google Search.

Nice but needs improvement
While the price and features of this camera are great, I've had a few problems with finding some of the features and mine burns the batteries after taking just a few pictures. I don't know if it's specific to just my camera or if others are experiencing this problem as well. I've contacted Olympus so I will reserve further judgment until after I hear from them.

Very Satisfied Customer
I am not one that likes to "fiddle" with settings. I bought this because the description mentioned it would pick the right setting automatically. Yea, it does. I used it for two weeks straight through Christmas in all types of lighting, and was really surprised with the quality. This is a great camera for people that just want to point and shoot and let the camera do the work. It also has an excellent macro setting, very close to object.

OLYMPUS 227595 14.0 Megapixel STYLUS-7040 Digital Camera (Pink)
Customer Review :
Great for the price
I bought this to relpace an older, 6 mp camera, and it is great. picture clarity is awesome, battery life seems to be very good, and it is EASY to use. The camera has more optical zoom than I have ever seen on a camera its size, and a great macro setting. I can get clear and defined product images very up close an personal. I can also get great pictures of my kids, and it is so easy that i can pass the camera off and anyone can click and shoot a great picture.
The camera also has HD video recording, and it is great. I have been needing to make some videos for my small business, and this will work nicely. It will also be great to catch family events on, including when my children meet their new sibling within the next few days.
the only thing I would make special note of is that the camera does not have as many manual settings as I am used to. no manual focus, in particulr. but, since it does so good a job of the auto focus, I haven not found that to be an issue.
overall, I highly reccomend this camera to anyone looking for a new personal or easy to use small business camera.

OLYMPUS STYLUS 1010 BLACK DIGITAL

A to Z guarantee worked great
This used camera from an Amazon partner came broken. It did not say that when I ordered it. The seller did not respond when I contacted them, but Amazon returned my money through the A to Z guarantee program. If it hadn't been for that I would have been out for the purchase price of $35.

Very disappointing
I had high hopes for this camera. It was the first we could find with a 10X zoom, which we needed for sports shots. Unfortunately pictures come out extremely blurry when the zoom is used to the fullest. When flash is used, pictures become washed out. When flash is turned off, pictures are dark. I also tend to use the record feature but recorded images are choppy, not a smooth stream that I want in a video. Battery life is good but that is the only good thing about this camera. I actually went back to my old Canon Powershot Elph.

Most trusty little digital cam I ever had.
I travel a lot and despite having a nicer SLR, I love portability. If I can fit it into a clutch handbag, it's my new best friend. I've been through a lot of these little digitals, most of them HP which I would NEVER recommend. This camera has truly been the most portable. It's stood up to all the bumps of getting out of taxis, being stuffed under the seat on planes, being turned on and off over and over because I keep seeing something else I love while on the road. Also you won't find these features with most digital cameras of the same cost. I can do a panorama, combined in camera, in 15 seconds and it looks beautiful. Image stabilization is a dream. The super-macro setting looks professional.

Look Elsewhere - Wish I Had
I bought this to replace another Olympus in fall 2008. I've hated it ever since. It takes one good picture for every ten fuzzy pictures - not good when you're trying to capture something fast or when you get home and look at it on the computer and realize you didn't get anything. While it is nice it has the adapter to take the microSD cards - some of the camera features don't work with it (like the panoramic feature). Every single time I use it, I state at least once that I HATE it. Can't think of one thing it has taken a consistent picture of if you take more than one.

Don't waste your money...
I have used Olympus cameras my whole life and have not had the issues that I have with this camera. After one year it went freaky - making the pictures over saturated with red & purple lines after a few seconds of being on. I now have to send it to their repair center for evaluation. It better not cost me a penny, since it seems to be an issue with the picture program function in the camera.
Olympus always made quality products, but lately it seems they are dropping the quality ball. It seems they are trying to add to many frills without the quality to back it up.

Questions & Answers
Question : I got an Olympus digital camera. Not super impressed with the quality -- should i get a refund?
I bought an Olympus 8 megapixel camera with 5X optical zoom. I used to own a 8 megapixel Sony camera... the Sony had excellent quality (Carl Zeiss Lens). The Olympus camera was on sale so i decided to give it a try. it is difficult to take clear, focused pictures with this camera. should i get a refund? What is your experience with olympus cameras?Marie--what model was your camera?
Answer:
i've got an olympus fe310 (8 mp, 5 x zoom) & photos from it are fantastic. i've tried a pentax with similar specs. but the olympus is far better. what model olympus are you talking about ? are you SURE you've focused correctly before taking picture ? sometimes it is hard to focus on some objects that don't have good definition.

Question : Where can I buy a rechargeable battery for my olympus digital camera?
It broke a couple months ago. I know I can get it online but I need one by tomorrow and I dont have time to wait for it. Are there any stores that sell digital camera batteries?? & around how much are they? Thanks.
Answer:
Probably your best bet is actually taking your camera to an actual camera store and request batteries that would fit your camera.Need more information about the camera than the just brand as in also need the model to give more ballpark pricing of the battery. Each camera brand and models take different types of batteries as in DSLR tend to have a set that is made for that one particular model and most point and shoot cameras usually tend to take AA batteries.

Question : Trying to restore pictures from olympus digital camera with xd card?
I am trying to restore lost pictures from an Olympus digital camera that uses an xd card. There was a problem when I went to load the pictures, and the camera screen said to format it. After checking the card for the pics (they weren't there) we formatted. I have used several programs to try to get the pictures, using a card reader. Are they lost forever? One site I went on said if you used an Olympus with an xd card you can't recover the pics. These are very important pics, and I need them back. Thanks for any help!
Answer:
They are not really gone unless you have reformatted the card, or written over them with new pictures. The blog below has put together some simple instructions and recommends a few free programs. I have used the PC Inspector and SoftPerfect products to recover my pictures as well as those of friends. In some cases I wasn't able to get all of my pictures, but I was happy to get back what I could. The first letter of the filename is lost but it's typically easy to figure out what it was supposed to beIt seems there are a few programs that recover pics from xd cards. See the links. You can google "recover images xd" to see what's out there.

Question : How to recovery deleted pictures from an Olympus digital camera?
The pictures were captured with an Olympus FE-210 digital camera on June 6 between the hours of 8pm to 2am. On Friday they were formatted/ deleted. I've tried online recovery website but it recovers recently deleted pictures. If someone could give me any websites, companies, or telephone numbers that can help me retrieve my pictures, do tell. Thank you sooo much!!
Answer:
first off, formating and just simply deleting stuff are similar, but two different things. When you format, you're re-writing the build up of the card so that your camera can read/write to it. Everything getting deleted is just an extra side-effect. When you delete something, you're just erasing that particular area of memory.if you've already formated the card, then theres pretty much nothing that can be done, you're pictures are unfortunately lost. If you just deleted the pics, theres an off hand chance you can still get them back.just google something like memory card recoveryheres one site I found:http://www.ultimateslr.com/memory-card-recovery.php

Question : Why wont my Olympus digital camera load anymore photos?
My Olympus camera has a 2MB xD card and ive used probably just under 1 MB of it, so its not full. But all of a sudden I loaded my pictures on to my computer ike normal and it just won't load them! The cords fine, cameras fine what could be wrong with it?
Answer:
Format the card inside the camera - not in the computer. If the card is working properly this will take care of the problem. However, don't load photos back onto the card, it's not designed as a storage device and could easily fail if you treat it this way.
