OLYMPUS 227645 14.0 Megapixel STYLUS TOUGH-6020 Digital Camera (Green)

Customer Review :

Broke after 2 1/2 weeks!

I love this camera, and its predecessor the Olympus 770 SW (which worked fine, but i lost it). However, after less than 3 weeks of use, it will turn on but then nothing else happens, and the power button has to be pressed twice to turn it off, because the first time the lens cover closes then opens again.

I have taken it kayaking near Washington DC, and it worked great, but the reason I bought it is for the marine biology field study program in Turks & Caicos, which is where I am right now. I used it snorkeling, always in less that 10 feet of water (its waterproof to 16 feet), and have been very conscientious about washing all the saltwater and sand off its exterior and lens, and have kept the battery and memory card closed at all times except when charging and uploading photos.

The camera worked fine, but after it ran out of batteries and I charged it a few days ago, the camera stopped working. All it will do is attempt to turn on (the screen flashes "olympus") but then the screen goes dark and appears on, but completely black, no menu, no image, nothing. None of the buttons do anything, pressing the zoom and shutter controls doesnt move the lens or take pictures, and it even has trouble turning off. I'm abroad for the next 3 weeks and now have no camera for field marine organism ID sessions and mesurements, or for personal photos for that matter, and can't do a damn thing about it until im back in the States.

I dont know if this is an electrical, software, physical or factory defect problem, but I've read a few reviews of olympus underwater and tough models having a similar problem, so I'm hoping I can at least get the camera fixed or repaired by olympus, but nothing can replace the photos I can't take now. I like the camera when its working, but now its just a $240.00 paperweight

ALSO it is not as scratch-resistant as it claims; my LCD has lots of tiny scratches, and the rim around the lens cover has started to chip away in some places; I wish I had a protective case or even an underwater case for it, but that defeats the purpose of this camera, doesnt it?

All in all, if I had to do it again, id get a normal camera with a waterproof case, or spring for the 8010 model, which seems more durable (though if this problem is internal or factory related, that wouldnt help me anyway)

Too Sloooowwwwww

I am not a pro when it comes to cameras, but I do know that 5 seconds from the time you push the power button until you can take a picture is unacceptable. This review sums it up fairly well: http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-Stylus-Digital-Camera-Pink/product-reviews/B0031RGEUO/?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

I returned this and bought the Sony, and am much happier now. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Cyber-shot-DSC-TX5-SteadyShot-Stabilization/dp/B0033VMM3G/

Disappointed

I was initially excited with my camera purchase because a few of my friends have this camera, only to have it break 2 weeks later... I only used it one day! It was working fine, and then I had it in my camera case on my dresser, and the next week, it wouldn't work properly! Sometimes it turns on, sometimes it has an error message. The few occasions it does turn on, it displays a "card error" message. Since I didn't open it for a few weeks after I got it, I can't return it on Amazon and now I'm S.O.L. How disappointing.

Rugged features are great!!!

If the purpose of purchasing this camera is to use it for it's rugged features then the camera is great! However if it's an amazing photos you want this might not be the camera for you.

OLYMPUS 262856 12.3 Megapixel E-PL1 Pen Camera (Black with M. Zuiko 14-42mm lens)

Customer Review :

I love it!

I had my doubts about this camera after reading a ton of online camera reviews. I decided that reviews always have to be taken with a grain of salt, so I ordered it.

I love this camera, it's fun to use. The autofocus is fine.. It's not a DSLR and so it doesn't perform as well as a high end camera would. However, after updating to firmware 1.1 the autofocus works pretty well. I am a little disappointed that it doesn't have an AF Lamp. That would have improved low light performance greatly.. But i guess you can't have everything.

I think like a previous reviewer said, you need to be honest about how you will use the camera and what your expectations are. For me, this camera is a gem, but i'm not a pro looking for exceptional results. I just want to snap a few great pictures and have some fun.

Most of my images are of animals - i.e. Dogs and cats. The camera is just fine for this. I know some reviews say otherwise. However, as any pet owner or parent knows animals and kids are unpredictable. There is no guarantee of a perfect shot with even the highest end camera. When photographing active and rambunctious subjects, it's partly about knowing your subject and partly luck. For it's class. this camera does pretty darn well.

I have also read that people thought the camera felt flimsy and cheap because it was mostly plastic. That's simply not true. It feels no less plastic than any DSLR. Honestly, it's heavier than I imagined and built like a brick - very sturdy. Unless you are just really rough on your gear, I can't imagine this camera falling apart on you.. even with everyday use.

Some say the flash isn't that powerful, but this camera seems to do a good job in lowlight situations. It would do even better in low light with the 20mm panasonic lens or with a faster manual focus lens. I , myself, am using a 50mm 1.8 lens from an old film camera. As far as the flash, it's still pretty bright. You are after all trying to take a picture, not make your subject blind.

The art filters & multi exposure options are a lot of fun. I can't wait to get some more lenses ( such as a lensbaby) and go out into the world with them. My favorite is the grainy B&W with the Diorama mode being second. If you have doubts about the art modes, you can always shoot in Jpg + raw and get the best of both worlds.

I am only giving this 4 stars because i DO wish it came with an EVF. I think it's silly that i have to pay almost $200 more for this very basic feature. I wish it had stereo sound like it's big sister the e-p2 as well.

Also as a Mac user, I am a little disappointed the included software isn't compatible. It took me a few minutes ( due to bad links on the Oly website) to find the OM2 software ( I will only use for panoramas, personally).

The E-PL1 is the perfect Assistant SLR. (or is it Assistant to the SLR :)

I spent several months on trying different cameras to co-reside with my trusty Kodak Z712 IS that was still producing wonderful pictures at a very high success rate. During the process I also learnt a lot about them and having kids, I was very interested in the quality aspect of the images since I did not want to lose the well, Kodak moments :)

Just like most consumer electronics, everybody has different needs. I learnt that you cannot have everything in one camera because if you did, the industry would shut down and quit making any more upgrades.

Here are some key things that I learnt that I want to share with people scratching their heads between cameras and SLRs vs P&S.

1) It is ALL about the sensor. NO MATTER what P&S you get, no matter what is built around it (touchscreen, front screen, a tank (G-10), uber zoom lens, you will ALWAYS be stuck with a small sensor compared to SLRs and therefore always have a liability in low light and high ISO pictures.
You need to look at sensors like Dart Boards. Bear with me, I am trying to clarify this. Imagine you have two dartboards that you are aiming at. One is a much smaller dartboard where the circles of quality (points) are pretty small and one which is 7-8X times the size of the first dartboard with correspondingly larger circles including an easier to hit Bullseye (the best picture).
The odds of you hitting the bullseye and high points on the second board will always be higher no matter how much you try to screw up. (auto modes). On the smaller board, you can still hit the bullseye but the chances are much lower UNLESS you shoot 50 darts at it (multi shot modes) and hope one sticks OR you are one of the best dart throwers in the business who knows all about wind speeds and trajectories and somehow manage to squeeze a high point shot frequently.
So there you go. Either you need to be really good at the photo process (and speed of decision is critical sometimes at the perfect moment) or you simply take a high volume of shots and utilize the percentage of good to great shots you can get out of the bunch. Do not try to compare some random shot from a P&S to a SLR because it just meant you happened to hit the bullseye somehow and not that they are equal by any means. SLRs will CONSISTENTLY out perform a P&S for HQ pics.

2) Portability - The best camera is the one with you. Unfortunately that means the cell phone for most people. However, the E-PL1 gives you hope to salvage the memories at a formal lunch or a party where unobtrusiveness is critical and you dont want to stick a huge SLR in someone's face. The kit lens is small, not very small but enough to avoid nervous glances anytime you try to click. Stick the pancake 20 mm Lumix Lens and they won't know what hit them. I consider SLRs to be EVENT based items where you have to plan to take them to a birthday function, wedding etc and its OK to have a piece of luggage with you while everyone else use a compact. The E-PL1 would make an Excellent Assistant SLR. (or is it Assistant to the SLR :)

3) Price - while the price is reasonable for the basic lens kit it is not cheap and I agonized over the 20 mm LUMIX lens and finally got it since it is simply a match made for the EPL1 form factor with a huge low light advantage. However, you need to remember that a lot of P&S lose value a lot quicker than SLRs that will take good pics no matter the date of manufacture. Since this is a new technology still evolving, your return on investment should be very good for this camera since it has all the necesssary features in it. (the next one could have a view finder, doubt it since the whole size thing would be compromised), there is already flash and high MP to take you through several years (get an accidental warranty and you might be set for much beyind in case something should happen to your camera and it is discontinued)

4) Megapixels are a very misunderstood concept. On a P&S, the higher the MP the more noise and issues at high ISO you will have since the PIXEL DENSITY is reduced (MP/Sensor size). That is why my 7 MP Kodak stays awesome for regular prints upto 8x10 since it does not falsely advertise its capabilities. A 12 MP on a small sensor on a P&S is asking for trouble. The key in my (very limited) experience is that you need to use the Flash as little as possible and use natural light and proper framing and placement with minimal zoom (use your legs). As such high ISO usability is very important to get at least a nice 8x10 print if desired, 4x6 would be more common.
The E-PL1 is fantastic at high ISOs and pictures are not burnt out by the flash

5) Software/Editing is the main element of good digital photography and I am still a novice on this one so it is all the more critcal for me to have good art option ON BOARD the camera (stitching, diorama, sepia etc) This makes it a lot easier to see the after effect of the shot before it happens and saves you time later on the PC.
RAW files while large and not commonly used by the average consumer are good to save for the important pics as a DIGITAL NEGATIVE if nothing else.

So, after the long expose, here is the rundown.

I ended up keeping the camera. I like my toys cheap and usable so its never easy for me to make a major purchase regardless if I have the money.

I did not miss the view finder as much as I thought I would.
Pictures are consistently good and the Olympus JPEG engine is awesome.
I got the 20mm LUMIX pancake lens and use the flash as little as possible
The art filters are great. The Sepia is a nicer type not the washed out brown pics like others.
The cool/wow factor is high and will remain as such for the near future since its a new type of technology (not just model)
Auto focus for the kit lens was improved with the firware upgrade but still not as speedy as you would like
The 20 mm lens on the other hand.....
This camera will need work for very young kids and pets that don't work as well with you for posing. 3-4 yr olds and above will be fine and there are burst options/modes you can play with to utilize the dart board theory to take multi-pics in those situations.
Get a tripod for shots that you can plan out like in a glamor shop (makes you look cool and like a pro) and minimizes errors and blurs. Essential for night and fireworks etc. The 20 MM will give you some extra help and onboard Image Stabilization will help as well on any lens.

Oh, and I am actually having fun taking pics now. I am taking more random pics of my kids and ending up framing even the unplanned poses. My facebook albums are like a gallery now for even regular pics.

Best camera around

This camera is just too close to be perfect. I originally had my sights on the pen e-p2 and the panasonic G1, but I decided on the e-pl1. Not because of the price, but for the flash (not present on the e-p2) and the bulb mode (limited to 4 minutes on the G1). The build quality is excellent, and is more heavy than I imagined. The sensor quality is VERY good! I had a Canon SX before, DSLR, and the quality is even better, especially at high ISO modes. And just as they say the auto mode of this camera really works. I used to shoot almost always in Aperture priority mode, or at least in Program. With this gadget I almost never leave the auto mode. True, I do photography for hobby, but I know my way around cameras.

The only issue I have with it is that for now there is no cheap lens to buy with a high field of view. Since it is micro 4/3 you get 2x of the focal distance, so the kit lens performs like a 28-84mm, and you will find yourself walking quite some steps back to get your subjects into the picture. But the video mode on its own helps to forget this. Before this camera I never shoot video. Now I find my photo albums are a multimedia mix, since the steps form one to the other almost disappear with this unit.

If you got tired of carrying around your bag with the DSLR, lenses, flash, etc this is a MUST BUY.

Excellent Photos, just not quite DSLR IQ, but very close.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R195TSAV80RI87 IQ is very nice out of this Olympus EPL-1 camera, even on auto with no adjustments. I shoot with Nikon D700, D90 and D40 for most things, until now. I love the Nikon DSLR's but have found sometimes I just don't want to drag them with, to heavy, lots of accessories, (filters, lenses, etc...) needed to capture the right shot. In fact, I got the D40 because it is was one of the smallest, lightest DSLR's, but attach a nice zoon lens, and it still becomes cumbersome to carry to some events. So I got this camera in hopes of feeling I could get excellent photos from a more portable device, and so far it has not disappointed. IQ is not quite as good as the Nikon DSLR's I shoot with, but if you don't shoot with a DSLR you will be VERY pleased with the photo quality. I have had several instances where my son had a wrestling match and you are moving quickly from mat to mat, and I didn't bring my DSLR because I knew it would be such a hassel. Or out of town at a baseball game, who wants to sit on the bleachers with the other parents and a large camera bag. This camera tucks nicely in my medium sized purse even with an extra 45-200 micro four thirds lens. It is so easy to have with for capturing shots, no need to lug around a DSLR.

I have shot with a lot of point and shoots, some of which I still hang onto and use because of their excellent IQ (for a point & shoot), and convenience. I have a Panasonic FZ35 and Canon SX200 and I wouldn't give them up, but this camera is a step up from those and my first choice (it is my go to camera)NOW! Conveinent check, HD video check, lightweight and portable check (at least compared to my DSLR's), excellent IQ check, cool art filters to add whimsy to photos check. I think if you are moving up from a point and shoot you will be WOWED by the IQ, and anyone who shoots with a DSLR will feel it is great IQ for it's class, NOT DSLR IQ, but comes close, and in some instances, very hard to distingush between to similar photos taken with a DSLR and this camera.

Just know that if you are stepping up from a point and shoot, you will probablly find yourself desiring an additional lens (for more zoom). Switching them out is easy, and the micro four thirds lenses are much smaller and lighter then the four thirds lenses used on a DSLR, and even with a zoom lens on this camera, I have found it surprisingly lighter than I would have thought.

I am enjoying using this camera on a daily basis, and when I travel next I am taking it and leaving the DSLR's at home. I am confident in its photo quality, and I can just put it in my purse to go through security, instead of dragging my photo bag (which is huge and has 6 lenses in it, with multiple accessories), that bag will stay home next time. I really think this will make my vacations more fun to shoot. When I went to vegas last year, my DSLR stayed in the hotel most of the time, because I didn't want to lug it around even with just one lens on the camera and nothing else. DSLR's just get to heavy after a while, and there is nowhere to put it decently when I was shopping, gambling, eating, etc... without having a camera bag with (just hate it when people go around all day with large cameras hanging from there necks, I'm just not into that). When I went on a cruise, every time we got off the boat I took a little point and shoot with me for the same reasons, who wants to spend more time lugging a camera than enjoying the islands. I am really happy that I will be able to bring this and just throw it in my purse, I carry that around anyways, what a delight to have a camera that takes great photos, and doesn't become like a 2nd child you have to watch and lug around!

For shooting weddings and events, yes a DSLR will always be my goto camera, but for everything else, it is the Olympus epl-1! Too most individuals, you will find the photos are excellent and wonder why anyone would spend more, unless you expect to be making a living off your camera (photo journalist, pro. photographer, etc...), stick with this and you won't even notice the difference, and your friends won't either.

I love this camera!

I was looking for something smaller but with slr quality. I found it and more with this camera. I know people with bulkier and more expensive slr cameras and I am way more pleased with my photos and the simplicity of the Olympus Pen E-PL1. I have had it for about a month now and haven't had any issues. I love the extra art settings this camera offers too. I would recommend this camera to anyone!!!

The camera is great but takes poor low-light photos

I've taken this camera snowboarding at over 12,000 feet in Breckenridge CO and snorkeling in Hawaii and I've never had an issue. The camera performs well outdoors and in places other cameras would never go. I've added a float strap and left it floating in a pool while it was passed around for great family photos. The panoramic feature works great and is easy to master. My only complaint about the camera is the indoor or low-light performance. Once it steps up the ISO the photos get very grainy very quickly. I would suggest forcing the flash on when you're indoors for better results but otherwise I've been very happy.

Finally a camera that I don't have to be careful with!

I have seen many negative reviews for this product and I couldn't disagree more. Sure it doesn't take the pictures a big bulky cannon takes, but thats exactly it, ITS NOT A BIG BULKY CAMERA. It's portability is awesome because you don't even need a case. And as for the reviews where "It's not waterproof!" was said, this is probably a rare occurance. People always review a product to "warn" people if they've had a negative experience. If everything is fine, most people don't. So don't let the negative reviews change your mind. Wouldn't you rather have a camera that you would ACTUALLY TAKE WITH YOU ALL THE TIME because you're not afraid of scratching it or breaking it. What good are cameras with amazing picture quality if you never have them around to use them? I know 3 other people with this camera and everyone thinks they're great!

    Pretty good...

This worked well up to 30 feet. I did not try to go beyond that with this camera. The only problem I had is that I left the camera on so I could snap a picture right away if I saw something that interested me and the fully charged battery ran out before the dive was complete. Too bad the battery would not last through at least the duration of a dive so you could change the battery between dives and not miss anything. Other than that, it is good for most shallow dives.

The perfect camera for my lifestyle

I am an Orvis Endorsed fly fishing guide. I also a bird hunting guide. I am a CEO, a mother, a grandmother, a wanna be book author, a real estate agent, web designer, I trade stocks. I live well and play hard and I try never to own anything that is fragile. It does not fit my lifestyle. When my husband (a photographer in the 70s to early 90s saw this camera in Best Buy, he proclaimed "You need this camera". So we bought it and I loved it!! Several of the images in our company's website were taken with this camera![...]
Then, I lost it. It was like losing my best friend. I have taken that camera everywhere! I carried when I guide, fall in rivers, sit on it, drop it, you name it. I went three weeks in mourning. I decided to buy a newer version but instead stayed with my tried and true favorite. I ordered my new one from Amazon; it was here lightning fast.
But late last week, I lost my new one. In a frantic search, I ripped apart my office and car. I find my old one. Whew, at least I have a camera. Yesterday while guiding fly fishermen on the Upper Connecticut River, I slide my foot into my waders and what is in the feet of my waders? My new camera. So now I have two!! So if you want a camera thats easy to use that you do not have to be gentle with and yet offers a good quality image, this is the one!

You need to make sure you have the back up battery if you are going to take any video. Because of its durability I have taken it everywhere - kayaking, ziplining, hiking in the rain which allows the ability to catch great memories.

The Verdict is still out...............

I just bought this camera for my daughter. She wanted one like her sisters (850sw) which has been great in the water and elsewhere. However. I received the camera, charged the battery, and checked it over. Read the directions. Gave it to my daughter who promptly took 140 pics on it in and out of the pool. At the very end of the first night, she came to me saying it wasn't starting up. I turned it on and it came right on without a problem. Then, the next day she said the same thing. I tried it and she was right. The little "olympus ditty" comes on with a finger pointing down onto the top of the camera on the screen then disappears, beeps about 5 times, then never turns on. I can download pics from it and the battery is charged. I have an email sent into Olympus but don't expect to hear from them any time real soon...I'll post an update if I can. BTW, it doesn't seem to have water in any of the compartments........

OLYMPUS 227650 14.0 Megapixel STYLUS TOUGH-6020 Digital Camera (Pink)

Customer Review :

sharp and easy to use

I bought this camera for my daughter to take on her vacation. It was the perfect camera for her, not only did she make some great shots of scenery, but awesome close-ups. It is easy to use and clear with great options. It makes it hard to take a bad picture. Opps- i did drop it already but have no problems so the tough and shock proof are the real deal. Great price and i like the color choice i made. Highly recommend this camera for the adventurous.

Returned within 24 hours and bought a Sony

I purchased this camera before a trip to Puerto Rico when I realized my scuba diving camera was broken and could not be repaired before the trip. I bought this as a fix so that I could at least take some pictures while snorkeling. Out of the box, this camera was awful. I shoot Canon (SLR and a point and shoot) so I knew I would be facing an adjustment, but I refuse to sacrifice image quality. The picture quality was awful, even in normal, non-low light, situations. In even the slightest low light, the image quality was extremely noisy.

The panorama was also terrible - it was better to do it on manual, which is very time consuming to line up the images, than the "easy" auto. Manual would work, as long as you aren't planning on taking a panorama of anything moving (don't even attempt underwater panoramas of fish!). The auto setting for panorama made it look like three separate pictures were taken - no matter how slow I went, if I couldn't keep the indicators EXACTLY (which is pretty impossible without a tripod) in line, the picture was not seamless.

The magic filters (why I was looking at an Olympus before the need for a waterproof camera arose) are not worth it - the drawing filter comes out very light (can hardly see the contrast) no matter how much you fiddle with the settings; the fisheye simply bulges out the center of the frame; there is virtually no difference between regular and the pop art filter. There are some settings (including panorama) where you cannot change certain settings, such as focus type and image size (this is a BIG problem! 3M for a panorama will NOT look good blown up!).

Lastly, this camera is SLOW. It takes a surprising amount of time just to click through the settings (for instance, to click down to the flash setting and then click across to change the flash took about 5 seconds EVERY time). It takes a long time to turn on. If you are wanting an underwater camera for snorkeling, or to take pictures of anything moving, this camera will NOT do it - the fish will be gone before the camera can get the shot.

The biggest issues I had were with the awful picture quality, the panorama being difficult to operate, and not being able to control settings such as image size. The user manual was NOT helpful, except to tell me that I couldn't change the settings I wanted to change. The only thing that was nice was the fact that it was waterproof to 16ft - 6 feet deeper than other waterproof models, but how often are you snorkeling or swimming at 16ft under? Ugh. So, two days before my trip I returned this camera and bought a Sony TX5. Additional note: the waterproof housing for the Olympus 6020 that makes it waterproof up to 120ft (for scuba) costs $339.00 while the waterproof housing for the Sony TX5, making it waterproof up to 120ft is $149.00 - and I got 15% off by buying the camera itself.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a waterproof camera to take pictures in typical, surface-water type situations, spend the extra $100 and get the Sony TX5. And, if you want a camera for scuba-diving, either buy a scuba specific camera, or just get the additional water housing for a comparatively low price. At least Amazon let me return it!

Exactly as advertised.

Everything works exactly as it's advertised. 14MP produces sharp images, auto focus finds the right subject, waterproof (used it in fresh & salt water), movies work great (very minimal wind noise). Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Question : I have an old Olympus OM 10fc and would like to use the lenses on a new Olympus digital slr camera?
I have an old Olympus OM 10fc and would like to use the old lenses since I have about 5 on a new Olympus digital SLR camera. What kind of Olympus camera would you recommend?

Answer:
You can do that with any of the Olympus Digital SLR cameras using a simple adapter (Olympus sells the adapter for about $100 U.S. but you can get good ones from third party manufactures for between $20~$50). I have both types and would not pay the difference for the Olympus brand again). In theory they should work with Panasonic and Leica Four/Thirds cameras as well but I have not tried either of them (because I am not rich enough to own all three brands).Be aware that the focal length will be effectively doubled, the lenses will require manual focusing and "stop down" metering in aperture priority mode and there are limitations on the metering modes that will work. Olympus recommends a very narrow range of aperture settings but I find that OM the lenses work well at most settings. There are also adapters with an electronic "focus confirmation" sensor that will provide an electronic connection to the auto-focus mechanisms on Oly cameras, this causes the audible/visible focus confirmation signal to activate when you have achieved best focus. I have not used any of these and have heard mixed reviews where some people loved them and others hated them. This can be important because the viewfinders on DSLR cameras are not traditional ground glass screens like those from manual focusing film cameras but rather are clear screens with focus points visible in the viewfinder. The ground glass style is considered unnecessary because of the auto focus capability.

Question : I got an Olympus digital camera. Not super impressed with the quality -- should i get a refund?
I bought an Olympus 8 megapixel camera with 5X optical zoom. I used to own a 8 megapixel Sony camera... the Sony had excellent quality (Carl Zeiss Lens). The Olympus camera was on sale so i decided to give it a try. it is difficult to take clear, focused pictures with this camera. should i get a refund? What is your experience with olympus cameras?Marie--what model was your camera?

Answer:
i've got an olympus fe310 (8 mp, 5 x zoom) & photos from it are fantastic. i've tried a pentax with similar specs. but the olympus is far better. what model olympus are you talking about ? are you SURE you've focused correctly before taking picture ? sometimes it is hard to focus on some objects that don't have good definition.

Question : How can i set the shutter speed in olympus fe210 digital camera?
I purchase a olympus digital camera. manual guide of this camera is no specification about the shutter speed & I don't know where is shutter speed in camera so plz tell me how i can set this.

Answer:
You cannot set the shutter speed on this camera. It looks like the camera display does not display the shutter speed nor the aperture.

Question : Why wont my Olympus digital camera load anymore photos?
My Olympus camera has a 2MB xD card and ive used probably just under 1 MB of it, so its not full. But all of a sudden I loaded my pictures on to my computer ike normal and it just won't load them! The cords fine, cameras fine what could be wrong with it?

Answer:
Format the card inside the camera - not in the computer. If the card is working properly this will take care of the problem. However, don't load photos back onto the card, it's not designed as a storage device and could easily fail if you treat it this way.

Question : For the Olympus digital camera: D-580, where is the focus button?
I have this Olympus digital camera D-580 Zoom and my mom doesn't have the booklet. I'm trying to take pics of my jewelry, but I cant take close ups cause they look all fuzzy. Does anyone know where the focus button is (or the macro button/setting)?

Answer:
Helloget on this pageyou the information!http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/D580/D580A.HTM#operationHope I could help.

Question : Where can I buy a rechargeable battery for my olympus digital camera?
It broke a couple months ago. I know I can get it online but I need one by tomorrow and I dont have time to wait for it. Are there any stores that sell digital camera batteries?? & around how much are they? Thanks.

Answer:
Probably your best bet is actually taking your camera to an actual camera store and request batteries that would fit your camera.Need more information about the camera than the just brand as in also need the model to give more ballpark pricing of the battery. Each camera brand and models take different types of batteries as in DSLR tend to have a set that is made for that one particular model and most point and shoot cameras usually tend to take AA batteries.

Question : How should I clean my Olympus digital camera?
I want to know the best way to clean my screen and outside of my DIGITAL CAMERA! Thanks!

Answer:
Just use a lint free cloth to clean the digital camera. If it is really sticky you can find cleaning pads for electronics which should be safe. The best option is to contact your manufacturer and ask them what their cleaning recommendation is. Good Luck!

Question : My Olympus digital camera won't focus, what do I do?
I have an Olympus FE-280 and all of the sudden it just started not focusing. Whenever I turn it on it makes these weird beeping noises and once the picture actually shows up it's all blurry and won't even take un-blurred pictures. I've never dropped it and the camera is only about five months old. Is there anyway that I can fix it?

Answer:
SEND IT IN UNDER WARRANTY

Question : Can you help me decide if I should keep my new Olympus digital camera.?
I just got a new Olympus FE-230 7.1 digital camera. It takes an xD memory card. My Gateway Media Center laptop has a port that accepts SD size memory cards, but not the smaller xD. I have not even taken the camera out of the box. I'm thinking I should exchange it for a camera that requires SD cards so it will be compatible with my computer . Please help me decide. I don't need anything fancy, just a basic camera and this one seems to fit the bill. Would I be better off with one that takes SD cards? (for computer compatibility) Seems like there are more SD cards on the market than xDs. Does that mean they are better? If YOU were buying a camera today would it make any difference to you if it took an SD card or an xD card? Thanks.

Answer:
The camera that you purchased is a very nice camera and is inexpensive. I would say that you should keep the camera and that you should purchase a card reader or just use the USB cable that came with the camera(even though it is a little slower and will eat up some battery life) but you can recharge the battery and as long as you keep up with that you should just use the USB cable that is in the box.Keep the camera.SD is not better or worse by the way, but olympus and fuji both make XD and that is one way they are able to compete in the Digital Camera mkt. by making proprietary accessories.

Question : How to recovery deleted pictures from an Olympus digital camera?
The pictures were captured with an Olympus FE-210 digital camera on June 6 between the hours of 8pm to 2am. On Friday they were formatted/ deleted. I've tried online recovery website but it recovers recently deleted pictures. If someone could give me any websites, companies, or telephone numbers that can help me retrieve my pictures, do tell. Thank you sooo much!!

Answer:
first off, formating and just simply deleting stuff are similar, but two different things. When you format, you're re-writing the build up of the card so that your camera can read/write to it. Everything getting deleted is just an extra side-effect. When you delete something, you're just erasing that particular area of memory.if you've already formated the card, then theres pretty much nothing that can be done, you're pictures are unfortunately lost. If you just deleted the pics, theres an off hand chance you can still get them back.just google something like memory card recoveryheres one site I found:http://www.ultimateslr.com/memory-card-recovery.php
