DMC-FS25
I don't recommend buying this camera. If you are going to take photos of stationary objects, at close range outdoors, on a bright cloudless day, you will find the images very acceptable, using either the "IntelligentAuto" function or "Normal Photo" setting and 1-Area focusing. Daylight indoor photos are blurry and noisy using 11-area focusing, unless you force the built in flash. Stick to the 1-area focusing setting in "Normal Picture" mode for the best pictures both indoors and outside. The "AF Tracking" focus mode is way too slow, yielding blurry/noisy photos of moving objects indoors. The newer cameras have addressed this weakness with faster AF...now I know why! Many of these new compact cameras have too many un-necessary functions and settings, like 11-area focusing and face detection, which only tend to confuse the average user and ruin images, especially if one is pressed for time. The LCD and battery life are big pluses. I don't use the camera for video, so can't comment. By the way, both my ancient Panasonic DMC-FZ20 5MP and 8MP Canon A720IS take photos of superior quality to this 12MP camera. I will be retiring this camera to either my car glove compartment or the kitchen junk drawer.

Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera
Ease of operation, size of picture preview, physical dimensions, quality of pictures, structural integrity, were the important features that I was looking for. This camera has them. And the price was right. And so far I have not been dissapointed re my decision.

I like this brand. It's thinner than my last one which was only a 6 mp. Easy to use.

Not a satisfied customer
I've had my camera exactly a month. Nothing was wrong with it until the today when the zoom kept going out of focus and then a screen telling me to turn the camera off then back on. I did this and it finally said zoom error. It won't work at all now and the 30 days return was up on that day.

Camara was sold as NEW but box had been opened and NO manual
I gave this camera 3 stars for the plain fact that the box had been opened and there was no manual in the box. When you pay for a new product is it too much to ask that you recieve an un-opened box. The camera itself is what I wanted, a simple point and shoot that takes decent pictures in most situations.

With both a 32mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens and a 5x zoom, this is one camera that does it all. You can fit more in the photo than you can with a 35mm lens, so you can get more of a sweeping landscape in a single shot. The 5x zoom is great for capturing dramatic shots of small or distant subjects. There's also an Extra Optical Zoom function that boosts zoom power to 8.9x in 3-megapixel resolution mode. Simply set the Lz8 to iA mode and let the camera do the rest. Intelligent Scene Selector chooses the mode that best fits the situation; MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) helps prevent blurring from hand-shake; Intelligent ISO Control helps prevent motion blur; and Face Detection helps produce clear portraits by optimizing the focus and exposure settings. The brightness and contrast of the large 2.5" diagonal LCD adjust automatically in 10 steps as ambient light conditions change, so images are clear, bright and easy to see day or night, indoors or outdoors. f=5.2-26mm (35mm Equiv. - 32-160mm) Focal Length 2.5 Diagonal Polycrystalline TFT LCD Display (230K dots) Focusing Area Normal - Wide 50cm/ Tele 100cm - infinity, Macro / Intelligent AUTO - Wide 5cm / Tele 100cm - infinity 8 - 1/2,000 sec. A toy camera
Bought this camera for christmas and it worked reasonably well. But it takes a long time between shots, the picture quality is not a good as my older 3mp panasonic, and this camera feels cheaply built. It is way too light. After 5 months an error message message appeared when you turned it on, I figured out is was because the lens was not extending fully. With some pulling and wiggling I got it to work again. Now it won't work at all. Seems to be mfg'ed completely of plastic...a toy.

A great little camera
Although this camera is somewhat dated, I decided to get it on the strength of previous reviews. It takes great pictures and a plus for me is the ergodynamics which allow me to hold it firmly in spite of having rather large hands. It fires up pretty quickly and the LCD is clear, even on a bright day. It has a nice range of options and the different settings are quickly adjusted. The macro setting is very sharp I am very happy with it and have already published several pictures.

Over priced camera
There is nothing wrong with the camera. The product was way over priced by about $4I don't think I will use your service again. A unhappy person.
Rating :
bad choice
This is honestly the worst camera I have ever owned, which is surprising since the higher-end Lumix cameras are really nice. It cannot focus. It takes up to 10 seconds to recycle to shoot another image--even on full battery life. Spend the money to get a better version (the DMC-TZ25 is great, but I dropped mine on concrete and tried to replace it with this inferior camera when I should've spent the money to have the other one repaired.)

Simply set the 10.1-megapixel DMC-FS20 to iA mode and let the four Intelligent Auto functions team up to help prevent shooting errors. Intelligent Scene Selector chooses the mode that best fits the situation; MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) helps prevent blurring from hand-shake; Intelligent ISO Control helps prevent motion blur; and Face Detection helps produce clear portraits by optimizing the focus and exposure settings. The 30mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens with 4x optical zoom takes wider shots than an ordinary 35mm lens. This is helpful in small rooms or crowded places, for example, letting you fit more people into a group photo. There's also an Easy Zoom button on the camera top - just press it, and the optical zoom and Extra Optical Zoom instantly extend to full telescopic position. This quick zooming lets you catch even fleeting opportunities. The brightness and contrast of the large 3.0" diagonal LCD adjust automatically in 10 steps as ambient light conditions change, so images are clear, bright and easy to see day or night, indoors or outdoors. f=5.2-20.8mm (35mm Equiv. - 30-120mm) Focal Length 3.0 Diagonal Polycrystalline TFT LCD Display (230K dots) Focusing Area Normal - Wide 50cm/ Tele 100cm - infinity, Macro / Intelligent AUTO - Wide 10cm / Tele 100cm - infinity 8 - 1/2,000 sec. Beware Panasonic's Repair/Replacement Process
Seven months after purchasing and receiving a Lumix DMC LZ-10S I still have not received a camera that works. I have received two defective replacement cameras. I have wasted hours talking to Panasonic technical support and shipping defective cameras to them for repair/replacement. I have traveled on vacation only to discover that my replacement camera doesn't work. I have even been told that I might have to accept a replacement camera - the third one I've received so far - that is a different model, with different features, from the one I bought seven month ago. Panasonic does not offer refunds. I am exhausted.
I purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ-10S in August 2009. The camera worked the first couple of times I used it, but then the lens would no longer focus, it would retract and the screen would go blank. I spoke to Panasonic technical support, who had me return the camera for repair/replacement. I was then sent a refurbished camera whose lens cover would not open. I returned that camera and was again sent a refurbished camera. This camera had the same problems that the first camera had.
When I spoke to technical support I was told that I should ship the camera in and that a note was being included with my case saying that a supervisor should contact me concerning a refund. After three defective cameras that seemed appropriate. Instead, after returning the camera Panasonic sent a different model camera (DMC-FS15S)to me - a camera that did not take AA batteries, which was one of the primary reasons I purchased the LZ-10S. I contacted Panasonic again about why I had never been contacted by a supervisor and was told that Panasonic policy was to not give refunds and that the women I had spoken to previously had not left a note for a supervisor to contact me.
I was also told that Panasonic may or may not exchange the FS15S they sent me for a camera that takes AA batteries - under the terms of the warranty they are not required to replace a defective camera with the same model. I will hear from them in the next couple of days. Panasonic products may be good or bad, but their repair/replacement policies and service are something to consider before buying a product from them.

Question : does digital camera Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 have the function zoom while recording ?
my digital camera, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3, does it have the function zoom while recording ? if yes, how do i turn that function on ?
Answer:
No, unfortunately, it doesn't. Very few compact cameras allow you to zoom while recording video. Unlike camcorders, the zoom mechanism for a compact camera is motor driven, and the camera will pick up the noise of the motor if you zoom while you're recording. For this reason, the feature is almost always disabled by the manufacturer.

Question : When taking a video clip using zoom with my Panasonic FZ30 digital camera, the focus drifts in and out.?
When taking a video clip using zoom with my Panasonic FZ30 digital camera, the focus drifts in and out. What might cause this and what can be done to correct it? Thanks.
Answer:
You can't correct it because the camera is trying to focus on what ever it can find in the frame. It's an automatic function programmed into the system. So if you move the camera while it's recording or if you're trying to record moving objects, this will always happen. I know because I own a Fuji 9000 that is video capable and it does exactly the same thing. The only cameras I know of that don't do this are SLR's that are video capable. They don't because you can set the lens to manual focus and then twist the focus ring yourself. Automatic cameras don't have this function.

Question : Is our Panasonic digital camera ruined?
We have a Panasonic digital camera, 7megapixel, and have had it about 2 years now. The past couple months we noticed all pictures we take, that once we load them on a computer or print them there is a horizontal line through it. Every picture has this line through them and it's annoying. Can it be fixed or just get a new camera?
Answer:
My guess is that this is a fault in the CCD sensor (the "film" in a digital camera). There were a rash of these problems in sensors produced by Sony in 2005 (see link below) with the common symptom of a horizontal line appearing on the image. Many companies were will to fix this fault for free. You have (possibly) two options. 1. If you can gain access to the sensor (depending on the camera, you might be able to take off the lens to get access), you might use a lens blower to try to knock off any dust, etc that fell onto the sensor. It's possible (though unlikely) that this is your problem. 2. You can call Panasonic and tell them about the problem, highlighting that this is a sensor fault, and try to get them to spring for the repair. If they won't the cost of the repair is probably prohibitive (around $200 for Canon), so you'll end up tossing the camera.
