No ... firewire is a different protocol all togetherThere are only a few older DSLR's that have firewire connections.Why do you want to connect the camera to your computer? Those of us who have been using digital cameras have long ago stopped doing that method of image transfer and use card readers.instead.

My screen on my Pentax digital camera keeps saying batteries depleted even though I have new batteries in the camera. Help
Answer:
I dont know which model you have from Pentax but my model Optio 30 also has the same trouble. My experience is if you have a pair of new alkalines it will work otherwise not at all. Rechargable batteries should do better but I never tried them. I tried CRV3 once, it is good but of a little bit more initial cost. It will do better if you follow some strategies to avoid battery consumption such as turning off the LCD screen, less use of zooming and flash, etc. Otherwise, Pentax is better in performance than many cameras and my model is very good for shooting practise.

First make sure your Li-ion battery is fully charged ... charge it until your charger tells you it is fully charged. This could take up to three or four hours. Always charge your cameras battery the night before you intend to use it.If after putting a fully charged battery in your camera, you still have the problem, contact Pentax help line and have them help you

Question : How do I change the date on my pentax optio digital camera??
The digital read of the date on my camera is wrong. i would like to be able to lood at my pics and have the right date taken displayed. does anyone know how i change it on the camera??
Answer:
Read the booklet that came with the camera, that's why companies include them in the box!You didn't indicate which model you own so it's difficult to give you exact instructions. But since most Pentax cameras have similar layouts and buttons, the general way to change the date and time is to go into your settings via the "Menu" button. You should be able to see a "Date Adjust" item in there. If not, use the 4-way controller to navigate through the menu. From here, it should be pretty simple; use the 4-way to adjust the date and time settings.

Question : what adapter do i need to make my 35mm Pentax lenses work with my digital Pentax camera?
they fit but wont work with the camera.. but i have heard they would with an adapter... just wondering which one it could be... there are so many out there!but the lenses are autofocus...
Answer:
Any Pentax "K" mount lens can be used on a Pentax DSLR with no adapter. However, you have to tell the camera that you're using a non-AF lens. How to do this is explained in the Owner's Manual for your camera. Its also explained here:http://support.pentaximaging.com/node/1

Question : I can't install the Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4 on my windows 7 PC?
I tried to download it on my sisters laptop (vista) and it did work, but when I try it on my windows 7 PC it says 'the system cannot open the device or file specified'.Please help!Thanks.
Answer:
a reboot is always a good start. then if that doesn't work, make sure you have the correct software (program, or driver) to run/open the specified file. (i.e. windows media player for .mp3 files)

Question : Pentax ist digital camera not working with fresh batteries?
My Pentax ist appeared to be out of batteries, so I replaced them, but it is still displaying the low battery icon and not turning on. I've had this happen before with cheap batteries that don't have enough power to run the camera, but I just put in Energizer lithium batteries which can usually power it for a few weeks, or even months depending on how many pictures I take. I'm going on a trip in a few days, and would really like to have a working camera with me, any help is appreciated :)

I have an *ist Ds model, and it never really liked lithium's either. Probably should look in the manual and see if lithium's are even recommended, but really my cam works best with plain old energizers, and also rechargeable crv-3 batteries. Oh and of course pull them out, and make sure you have them installed correctly (duh). Good luck :)

Question : Does anyone know anything about a Pentax Digital Camera?
Is it a descent camera or would I be wasting my money on a crappy camera? It is a Pentax E10. I dont know much about digital cameras so I would appreciate any help! Even if it is just an opinon!

Comcast Shopping does not rate this camera very highly.The users seem to really like the Pentac M10, which does not cost too much more than the E10.I admit that there are only 4 reviews for the M10 and 3 for the E10, but the users had some really nasty things to say about the E10.
