The Digimax 360 offers a 3.2 mega pixel resolution to capture clear and accurate images. The high quality Samsung SHD lens (equivalent to 38mm - 114mm in 35mm format), with 3 x optical and 4 x digital zoom to get up close to your subject. The diverse focusing ranges from 6cm close up to infinity.Images are easily previewed and reviewed on a color TFT LCD screen and are stored on the camera's 16Mb internal memory, which can be upgraded using SD cards. Both still images and movie clips with sound can be recorded, the time limited only to how much memory is available. The Digimax 360 supports a variety of power sources including AA alkaline, Ni-MH, CR-V3 Lithium-ion Batteries and AC adapter so that you won't need to worry about running out of power with so many options available.

Good Camera, expected life 4 years?
Was primary camera for 4 years worth of weddings, honeymoons, birth of child, vacations, trips to parents, etc. Took excellent pictures and handy videos. No problem with 1MB card. Wouldn't work correctly or practically with anything but those expensive Lithium Batteries($10 for 4), FYI. I got over it. I liked the A/V feature where you can plug it into a television and show the pics & videos. I used that a lot and not all cameras have that..
Optical sensor went bad(Streaky, phsychedelic images) after 4 years. Does that sound about right with other users? Anyway, Samsung said they'd fix it for $50, whatever the problem. Nice offer, but decided to go with a newer camera. Overall, excellent camera experience.

Great Digital Camera
I purchased mine used on eBay for around $35.00. This camera takes excellent pictures, and is packed with features. It's relatively small and light, which makes it easy to take along when you travel. It uses a variety of battery options - you can use AA (alkaline or rechargeable), or those CR-V3 lithium ion batteries. Either way, you're not stuck with a camera that uses $40.00 proprietary batteries. It can also be hooked-up to an AC adapter, but this is sold separately, and for most people, is not practical to have to plug-in a camera to take pictures. Although the camera is guaranteed to recognize SD cards up to 256MB, mine has recognized much larger cards (up to 2 GB) with no issues. With memory being relatively inexpensive, I wholeheartedly recommend taking pictures in the highest resolution (finest setting) possible. The results are well worth it.
Some basic Pros: 1).Crisp, bright pictures, which also print beautifully at a photo center or from a PC. 2). Has a larger 1/1.8' ccd chip compared to the smaller 1/2.5" ccd chip on many 7-10 megapixel models - which results in much nicer pictures. Remember - Megapixels do not equal quality, just maximum size. 3). Uses non-proprietary batteries (e.g. 2 x AA) 4). Has a variety of features (B&W, Sepia, Antique style pics, Automatic fine-tuning zoom, series shooting, and a variety of image adjustments, to name a few) 5). Lighter-weight and more compact than many cameras it's size, but still solidly built. 6). Decent optical zoom. 7). Recognizes larger sized SD cards than stated in the user's manual.
Some basic cons: 1). A little slow between pictures when writing to the memory card (about 3.5 seconds in highest quality mode). 2). Optical zoom is very good, but the digital zoom leaves a little to be desired, especially when using it on the highest zoom (12x). Pictures at this zoom seem to be a little out of focus and not as crisp. 3). Small LCD screen (1.5 inches). This can be seen as a pro as well, because a smaller LCD screen eats batteries much less than a large one. 4). 3.2 megapixels will print beautiful 4x6 or 5x7 photos. But if you're looking to print 8x10 photos, posters, etc. you'll need a camera with larger resolution (more megapixels).
All-in-all, this is a fantastic camera for the price!

Great Camera
I liked this camera so much I bought 2 - one for my teenager and one for work. It's my 3rd digital camera and by far the easiest to use with the best quality prints. Can't beat the price! I didn't even have to load any software to view the photos on my computer (Windows XP) simply plugged it in.

Not too great in high heat
I took this to Iraq with me and it was an okay camera for a while. Then the weather got really hot, it'd take a few pictures, then freeze up due to the heat. So for anything else, you're okay, I guess.

MD) CL) U) SAMSUNG NV11 DIG CAMERA
Customer Review :
great camera!
i've had this camera for a couple years now and i love it. the 10 mega pixels make the photo nice and big on photo editing software programs. you can blow it up and it won't get pixelated. i also love the power cord for it. its nice to have the cord for both charging and uploading.

Be sure wt r u looking for
This is the second Samsung DC I hv in my life because they have good quality especially the Micro zoom. However this one has a big lens which you might find not as easy as the others to carry around or put into the pocket, and it's heavy! However I still love Samsung, the picture quality amused a lot of my friends.
Rating :
nice camera, but get a spare battery
This camera rocks. I love the lomography camera body style and the anti shake allows for some great night shots with out having to futile use the flash. The only catch was that my battery started to go after about 300-400 shots a day on vacation. So if you shoot under that, you should be good, otherwise, it would be best to get a spare battery and keep it charged.

My dream camera
Please know that I have never taken any photography courses and have very little technical knowledge. I wanted a high MP camera with a rechargeable battery that took black and white pictures. After researching every camera I could find that met my requirements and some that didn't quite, I chose the Samsung NV11.
The Pros:
Without any technical knowledge it was kind of intimidating with all of the menus at first but I downloaded the manual off the Samsung website and the camera is VERY user friendly. I am ESPECIALLY pleased with the Super Macro function, taking close ups of flowers etc it has an AMAZING zoom. I love the video camera function, it'll take a movie up to 4 hours long (my Fuji finepix had a very short video limit). It also came with an a/v hookup so I can connect my camera directly to my tv which I love.
This camera is teaching me a lot too, using different options and functions I can tell instantly on the screen its effect on the picture.
The Cons:
The digital zoom from 3x to 5x tends to grain a lot and the battery life is just so-so. The audio on the video function cuts out when you try to zoom which is annoying but I bought an extra battery and work around the rest, overall I am VERY happy with my new camera!

We Love it!!
Our NV11 is a special camera. It handles so well and takes great pictures. It feels like an "A" and looks like an "A". The zoom is nice and all the features are incredible. Can you tell we like it?

Samsung L100 8.2-Megapixel Digital Camera (Gold) with 3x optical zoom, 2.5" LCD screen, Digital image stabilizer, Face detection & Self-portrait function
Price : $199.99
Features
: - 8.2 megapixels: The Samsung L100 digital camera takes photo-quality, 300dpi images up to 8" x 10", and good-quality 200dpi images up to 12" x 16". More megapixels give you more freedom to crop, edit, and enlarge favorite portions of your photos.
- Zoom: The 3x optical zoom brings you closer to your subject-without sacrificing image quality. The 3x digital zoom picks up where optical zoom leaves off, stretching pixels to make the image look bigger.
- Intelligent LCD screen: This large, 2.5" screen adjusts automatically as ambient light conditions change, so images are clear, bright and easy to see day or night, indoors or outdoors.
- Digital image stabilizer/high ISO: Able to shoot with a light sensitivity of ISO 6400, this camera can handle lower than ideal lighting conditions. High ISO also means that the image sensor can handle shorter exposures to light, allowing faster shutter speeds that can prevent blurred images due to camera shake or moving subjects.
- Face detection: This camera identifies faces in a frame, then optimizes focus and exposure to ensure that all of your portraits look great.

A Good Value
Finding a digital camera in the under $200 range is not easy. After doing a bit of research, I finally purchased the Samsung 240. It takes only two double "A" batteries, keeping the unit light and compact; easy to fit in a coat-pocket or bag. Do not make the mistake however of trying to use standard batteries with digital cameras. Buy a set of rechargeables and an AC adaptor for home computer hook-up. One set of NiMh batteries easily lasted me through eighty-two photos and seven avi files on a a busy birthday weekend. If you are familiar with the use of computer, electronics, and cell phone menus so prevalent with today's devices you'll have no problem with the screens and menus (though the screen is hard to see in brilliant daylight). If, however you are not comfortable with electronic devices ask a friend who is, to walk you through the menus as the manual is cumbersome and stiffly worded. The software that comes with the camera is passable, but most computers have something that will allow you to manage your photos more readily. A memory card is a must, but in a pinch, the on-board memory is fine for ten or so shots at medium quality resolution. There are three photo qualities available. The middle resolution is fine for just about everything. I have even been able to take shots of architectural drawings and e-mail then to contractors for review within the span of a few minutes. 2.0 pixels is more than adequate for most applications. The avi movie files are a fun addition, reminiscent of old 8mm footage, but great for catching the sense of space in a landscape or two children playing in a treehouse. And like 8mm there is no sound. Some points for improvement: A built-in lense cover would have been nice. The rubber AC adaptor-cover needs to be pressed firmly in place to make a good seal (difficult if you have poor dexterity in your hands). Flash recharge is a bit slow, about three to four seconds which doesn't sound like much until you have all the grandchildren lined up for a group shot. :) All in all a nice camera to take you into the world of digital photography and at a price that won't make you worry about taking it everywhere with you!

From an observant consumer
Before buying this camera (my first digital camera), I consulted with my friends who have been using various digital cameras for months, if not years. I hesitated on buying Digimax 240 due to horrible comments made by the Amazon.com folks below. Also, I saw how much people raved about Canon A40 in Amazon.com. So I was strongly leaning toward buying a Canon A40 which also has 2.0 M Pixels. Then, I decided to take a chance after seeing sample photos taken by Digimax 240 from the potential sellers who took time to share their photos with me. (My sample photos from Digimax 240: http://photos.yahoo.com/brianmustbecrazy) In the end, I was able to pay less than half of what Canon A40 would have cost.
2-M Pixles from Digimax 240 is more than sufficient for photo sizes of 4 X 6 or 5 X 7 as it gives superb photo quality & sharpness. I find that it is good enough for larger photo sizes as well when the best performance settings are chosen when taking shots. I see that a lot of people complained about the short battery life. But I conclude the reason is that Digimax 240 operates on 2 AA batteries whereas most other 2 MP digital cameras need 4 AA batteries. It is a trade-off because 2 AA batteries give you shorter life, but 4-battery-operated cameras look and feel funny (also bulky and heavier) because they have to house 4 AA batteries. Digimax 240 has an attractive shape without any funny contour since it only houses two AA batteries - makes it easier to pack and carry. Also, see my comment on rechargeable batteries at the bottom. Here are good and bad of my Digimax 240. Very good: Excellent photo quality, sharpness / Ergonomics & easiness of camera operation / Easy to follow manual / Light weight-wise / Comes with a quality pouch / Solid construction / Easy software installation / Different settings for different weather situation - cloudy, sunny, sunset and more / Different settings for fineness and sharpness - 1200 X 1600, 600 X 800 and more. This allows you to control the size of the file - sometimes you don't want the photo to be too big in file size. / Automatically (but also manually) able to change the level of light exposure (separate feature from the aforementioned weather settings) - this helps you to get quality photos in darker and brighter environment. Usually the camera will automatically adjust the settings according to different environment, but you can do it manually as well, over-riding the automatic settings. Being able to manually adjust the weather and light exposure really made improvement in my photo outputs in extreme conditions. Good: Flash reload time / Flash power - could be stronger as the flash recommended range in dark indoor space is about 8 feet. But then, this is what the photo-editors are for. Also, talking to and seeing photos from many friends with fancy digital cameras, I found out that shooting, focusing and getting quality photo product in darker environment is a challenge for any digital camera. In other words, conventional film camera is still the way to go for photos in darker settings. Bad: Fairly short battery life - but my friends with other digital camera brands told me that they can't really use theirs without rechargeable batteries and AC adaptor... Besides, the manual strongly recommends using AC adaptor when connecting to PC, where the batteries really get used up. I recommend NiMH type rechargeable batteries and an AC adaptor - I bought them and they work very well. With the first two AA size rechargeable batteries I have shot close to 100 shots with flash and I still didn't have to recharge the batteries.

Take a travel writer's word for it!
I am Drew Corey, a small time travel writer (you wouldn't have heard of me). I am only 25 years old, but I have 15(!)digital cameras, including this 1.
This was my 10th digicam, to be precise. I have taken this with me to Kenya, New Zealand and Mexico. All 3 times, I have got fabulous photos, whichi magazines have accepted. True, this IS a beginner's camera, but one easily gets fooled by the looks, style, price and brandname. I got fooled, to tell you the truth. But even a professional photographer would be amazed at the quality of these photos;they come out ACE!! I mean, they ALWAYS come out ACE!! So the bottomline: THIS CAMERA IS A SNATCH. IT'LL BE THE ENVY OF YOUR FRIENDS, AND YOU'LL BE WOWED BY IT TOO. SO DON'T HESITATE:GO AHEAD AND BUY IT;YOU CAN WORK WONDERS WITH IT!!

Not Very Good
I bought this camera a few months ago and I returned it because it did not seem to be very good. Some of the promotional materials for the camera represent that it has adjustable ISO to 400 speed. The camera I purchased did not have that feature. The pictures I took with the camera seemed ok, but the battery use was unaccaptable. After just taking a few pictures the batteries went dead and the performance was not much better using more expensive lithium batteries. The plastic cover over the external power jack did not fit and kept falling out, certaily symbolic of poor quality construction.
I returned the camera and spent a little more to buy a Cannon A40. I love the Cannon A40. It really does have adjustable ISO along with many other mannuel controls, including a variety of special effects, such as black and white. It takes good pictures under all conditions, even in low light, and comes with better software than the Digimax 240. Battery life is also much better. The A40 still uses batteries relatively quickly when campared with other devices, but it can nevertheless take 50 to 100 pictures or more before the batteries die, and that is with inexpensive store brand alkaline batteries. My choice for buying either of these cameras was based on the limited RAM in my computer, 32 megabytes. Most of the cameras out there required 64 megs, but these cameras could run on less. If I had 64 or more megs on my computer, I would have purchased a Cannon A-60 camera that has even more features than the A-40.

it's alright
This camera could be much better. Although there are good aspects of it, with the good comes the bad. It's good in the terms that it's fairly simple to operate, both the camera and the software. It has a timer, different flashes, good zoom, and a 30 second video clip. Although, the video clip, if used without a card, will fill most of the memory. The software is easy to set-up, and when the camera is detected, will direct you straight to the pictures so you can copy them into a separate folder.
Previously I had many problems with it. I had it for a couple months and it would hold about 18-24 pictures normally (I don't have a card for more storage just yet), but then it began to hold only 7-9 pictures. I'm still not entirely clear on why that was but I formatted it on the advice of a friend and it's now back to normal. I did lose the pictures I had on it after I formatted it but that was expected. Rechargable batteries are generally a must need for any digital camera unless you enjoy watching batteries be eaten away within an hour. The software has given me problems also. I selected a few pictures from a large selection out of the immediate download folder, copied them, went over to another folder, pasted them, returned to the main folder where my pictures taken should have been, and everything was gone. Checked all over my hard drive in case I somehow selected all the files unknowingly, found nothing. From now on I copy them all from the root folder into a single folder on my hard drive at the same time and move/rename them from there. In short, this is an alright camera. It can be tempermental at times, but it's good for beginners so long as they don't encounter the same problems I've had. User friendly and all that. Everything's pretty simple to find. Nice zoom, good selection of flashes.. Definately better with rechargable batteries and a charger though. I also wouldn't reccomend buying it if the feature that you like the most is the video clip since that uses all the memory and has no sound. There's no flash available for the clip as far as I know so the quality's horrible if you're indoors with little light.

LOVE this camera, SO CLEAR!
I got this camera for Christmas, I've only had it a few days, and already I'm absolutely loving it! The picture is amazing, the screen is huge and I couldn't believe how clear the picture is. It's so crisp. And I thought that it was going to be a heavy clunky camera, but not at all! It's extremely light and fit's perfect in a pocket or purse. The voice playback on movies is easy to hear and is also very clear. It doesn't come with a memory card, so make sure you buy one when you buy the camera.
The only thing I was concerned about was the battery life. I actually came across this page looking for more information on how to sustain better battery life. Apparently from the user's feedback before mine - I need to invest in the lithium AA batteries to make sure my pictures won't be interrupted by dead batteries. I went through a whole pack of AA's in only two days, and not that many pictures. I guess the regular old batteries just won't do. So I'm going to try that and see how it works. All in all, this is a great camera, and I am very happy with it!

Good little camera
A friend of mine had the A50 and after seeing it in action I decided to buy one myself. It takes great photos, it's light, and it was very easy to install and setup. A smart buy for someone looking to spend under $200 for a digital camera.

What a great camera!
This camera is a steal. The best feature by far is the 640X480, 30fps video mode. Honestly you do not need a video camera if you've got this baby. The video quality is very good and the compression allows for over 1!!! hour of recording with a gig SD card. The picture quality is also superb. There is no conventional viewfinder so the LARGE LCD must be used all the time which cuts battery life - not a problem if you get the super-long lasting energizer lithium batteries. All in all I'm very satisfied!!!

Questions & Answers
Question : Help! My Samsung digital camera won't open its shutter or turn on. I tried to recharge battery but not work!?
I have a Samsung SL202 intelligent LCD digital camera which I love. Few days back I got a low battery message then it shut down. I used my USB cable to recharge the Li-ion battery, but it is not recharging. I have taken the battery out and put it back in, jiggled the chords, etc. What am I missing???? I am quite frustrated. Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated.
Answer:
Maybe the battery is done for. Batteries don't have eternal life nor can sleep for eaons. No they are chemical little storage cans that will lose their ability to hold energy slowly. After harsh use or a certain time, a few years that is, the rechargable battery is unable to hold charge. So what to do? Buy a new battery, available on your online and local photo stores :)Remember batteries are chemical waste!

Question : Can anyone tell me about the Samsung L200 digital camera?
It looks like a great camera for the price ($150). 10.2 MP, 2.5 inch LCD, but only 3x optical zoom. Anyone have one? Are you happy with it? And what is the reputation of Samsung cameras in general? Thanks.
Answer:
It uses a lithium ion battery, which is good. It's got optical image stabilization, which is good. It looks good for the price.

Question : Did anyone else buy the Samsung D53 digital camera at Walmart? How does Samsung compare with Polaroid?
This must have been a Walmart exclusive because it's not listed on the Samsung web site as a model. Does anyone know how this camera would compare with the Polaroid A700 which was on sale at Kmart? Any opinions on who might make the best inexpense digital camera--Samsung or Polaroid? I do know that the Samsung is very confusing to use out of the box. There are many features but a steep learning curve on figuring out how to use them.
Answer:
Neither.I don't know how much retailers are advertising these for, but if Canon, Olympus, Fuji or Kodak had one within $100, I would opt for one of those and consider it money well spent.I use a Samsung digicam at work for taking passport photos and it is completely unimpressive. Polaroid spent a lot of time in bankruptcy, and is behind on the digital curve.Good luck in finding the right camera.BTW, if you are switching from a film camera, ALL digicams have a steep learning curve!

Question : how long do samsung digital camera batteries last?
i just bought a samsung digital camera today at circuit city, and just after a while its battery power became very low. i tried to change batteries, but the other ones don't work. i keep trying to figure out how the battery became so low when i just bought it today! and sometimes when i was taking pictures to test it out, it would just shut off or turn on itself. does anyone know why?
Answer:
When you buy a new camera, mobile phone or something like that, you have to charge it for 4-5 hours. Then you must use it.There are different batteries. "AAA" or "AA" and so on. The little one is "AAA". pay attention to it.And try to use rechargebale batteries. Yeah, they are more expensive than others, but it will last nearly 2-3 year. (you have to give it energy day-by-day)And dont forget, if there appears any problem, You may contact to "shop sale or technic manager".

Question : Change image size on samsung bl103 digital camera?
I just got a samsung camera and when taking pictures they come out HUGE...How do I change the setting so the pictures take a little smaller?
Answer:
NO, no, no, no, no - don't EVER do that!!!You should never EVER set your camera to anything less than best quality (i.e. lowest compression rate) and biggest size (highest resolution). The reasons for that include:1) If you have a good, large photo, you can crop it more later on without losing too much detail if you really have to.2) If you happen to take the best photo you ever took, you'll be able to print it at a large size. If you lowered size and quality, you'd be kicking yourself.3) If you decide later you really don't want to keep a big file, it is very easy to down-size it in post processing - but you can't go the other way, you can't invent pixels that weren't there in the first place.4) Memory cards are cheap, so are bigger hard drives. There is NO reason to do anything less than the best.

Question : Samsung digital camera, what am I doing wrong?
I just bought a samsung ES55 digital camera and I can only seem to store 19 pictures on the actual camera. I don't have a memory card in it but can buy and put one in if needs be. I have reduced the quality of the pics I am taking and put everything that could take up memory to the lowest possible setting. Is this normal because I can't believe for an £80 camera you would only store 19 pics???? Does this mean a memory card is essential for use?
Answer:
You're not doing anything wrong. The internal memory is very small.Yes you'll want / need a memory card. It will store far more than the internal.By the way, read your owner's manual to learn what size and style of card you need and your camera will support before you go buy.

groppetti is right, a canon or a nikon. I may cost a bit more for the canon or nikon but the quality makes it worth it. The Canon A1000 is on sale for 159.99. not bad but is it worth it yes.

Question : What memory card is needed for a Samsung L200 digital camera?
I have a san disk 256 mg, would that work with a samsung camera?
Answer:
This camera uses an SD memory card, you don't say what type of memory card your San Disk card is so I can't tell you if it will work or not.If it's a small, thin rectangle and says 'SD' on the bottom left then it will work with your camera. If its a square and says 'CF' then it will not work.Hope this helps.Thomas
