Customer Review :

excellent P&S; memory card is MICRO SD, not SD!

NOTE: Do not buy this camera bundled with an SD card. The card supported is micro SD. We had no problems using an 8GB microSD card with this camera.

Pro's:
- excellent image quality
- fast
- decent flash
- awesome video's
- dual IS is great for low light without flash
- 5x optical zoom
- zooming all the way out gives a good wide angle shot

Con's:
- battery drain with dual IS because of post processing
- takes a bit getting used to switching between modes

Samsung Digital Camera

Fast delivery and the product was brand new as stated in description. zero problems; good seller.

Great Camera for the price; versatile, compact.

Time we've owned this product: 1 week.
Review: Excellent.
Ups: Compact, small, and easy to use. Seems to take excellent pictures in all conditions with "SmartAuto" mode. Also a program mode available with plenty of adjustment options. MicroSD card sold separately, but not a big deal. It cost us $20.00 for a 4GB microSD card at Target.
Downs: Users manual requires a computer to read/download. That's about it. So far so good.
I would recommend this for anyone who needs a simple but capable digital camera. Great buy.

Little disappointed

I've had this camera for only a few days, but so far I'm delighted with it. The accompanying CD has the manual, (106 pages!) but I was pleased to learn that the camera has a tutorial for many features right on the camera's screen.
It is very easy to determine a picture's resolution before taking it. The camera recommends the resolution for fitting many pictures on an email. Or, increase the resolution for that special shot.
At first I wasn't pleased that the camera battery charges in the camera, but now I think it's fine. And, an external battery charger can be obtained inexpensively.
The zoom on the camera is very fast, so it will take some getting used to. I was very pleased with the macro, and uploaded a picture to display. I agree with the comments I've read on the USB port cover. It seems very flimsy and I hope it does not break off.
I haven't had the opportunity to learn and play with this camera's many features, so I will have to extend this review at a later date.
So far, I think this little camera is well worth the money!

June 18, 2010
I've been using the camera for a while now, and discovered that the camera does NOT allow you to pause video while filming, contrary to the description on Amazon. That was the main reason I purchased this camera. Also, the USB port cover wouldn't close, and Samsung support was not helpful. My husband figured out how to fix it.
The videos are very good and I'm glad I had this little guy in my bag to capture some special moments. However, make sure you set the volume to max in the settings, and know that you still won't be able to hear videos well on the camera's replay.
I'm still happy with this camera, and now that the price has dropped it's an even better buy.

A Little Disappointed

I had an older 'SL' model of the Smasung that I wore out. It produced photo's so perfect that I wouldn't consider anything but Samsung again. I have had this camera for just one week. When I uploaded the photo's from this camera I was incredibly disappointed with the color quality. The clarity was great and the noise low, but all the colors look washed out. Comparing these photo's with my photo's from my older camera, there is no comparison. It took quite a bit of photo editing to get even close to the original color quality of my old camera. It's important to know that 99% of my photo's are Macro of flowers so color is very important to me. I have not used the camera for further distance or action shots.

For the money I'm sure the camera is great. I have no other complaints except for the color quality. It is easy to use and understand, light and easy to carry. Maybe a little too thin for me (butterfingers). It works well on a tripod though I found sometimes while setting the tripod up exactly how I wanted it, I would inadvertently press buttons and have to reset before taking the picture. You just have to be more aware of the buttons and not put your thumbs in that area while setting it up.

Great camera with only a couple minor flaws.

Replaced another camera with this one to have a sleek, small compact camera to fit in the pocket. I've only had it 3 days, but so far this camera is awesome and worth every penny. Camera has a 4x optical zoom which brings you in plenty close and tons of scene modes! Especially like the Portrait modes that include Beautify, blink detection, smile detection, etc. Wonderful low light photos! Pictures have turned out great and full of color with lots of detail. Build quality is great and feels sturdy! Only two things that could have been improved on. I am a little worried about the small door that covers the charger port, it appears that it could break off easily if not taken care of. Also, when in Movie mode filming, if you use zoom while filming you hear the motor moving the lens. There is the option to turn sound off while zooming though. Would love to have had a zoom with sound! Just one more piece of advice for someone buying this camera, make sure to get a Class 6 (minimum Class 4) SDHC card. Any card with a slower speed will make you wait. this is not the camera's fault, just something that comes along with the technology and size of the files! Highly recommended camera if the lose of sound while zooming in movie mode will not bother you!

This camera is great!

This camera is a great investment. I was so used to using my camera phone to get snapshots and video, I had no idea that it could get better than that. This camera is great for the price. The only thing I didn't like about it was that when you use the movie feature, the sound cuts off when you try to zoom in or out..and the fact that it doesn't play sound until you plug it into the computer. But other than that stuff, it's awesome.

Perfect camera for our daughter

My wife and I bought this camera for our 15 year old daughter at Christmas 2009. The slim design fits nicely in her purse, the pink color is a nice break from the basic silver or black, and the cool "smile recognition" feature is not just a software toy but a useful function.

She has bumped and banged this camera around for three months now and can't part with it. The Samsung SL102 is fun, dependable and cool. Perfect for teenage girls!

The Samsung TL320, with a 5x optical zoom and 24mm ultra wide lens, breaks ground by featuring the world's first 3.0-inch VGA AMOLED screen. The organic LED screen out performs conventional TFT LCD screens with better contrast and a brighter screen that really helps when shooting in both bright sunlight and dark conditions. The 960k pixel packed screen also shows fantastic detail when framing the shot and in playback. The 12 mega pixel TL320 also includes HD movie capture so you can "Pause and Re-record" high definition videos and super sharp movie-quality recordings in one movie clip - a Samsung patented function. Superb camera, great buy

Purchased this camera thru Amazon from Beach, and it arrived last week. To date, I have shot several hundred stills with it, and about an hour of video at 720p. I have been a photographer since middle school, using 35mm, 2-1/4 x 2-1/4, and 4 x 6 film cameras by Yashica, Canon, Nikon, and Speed Graphic. This is my fourth digital camera, and the first one to replicate many of the features of those old film cams. So far, I am extremely pleased with the TL-320.

Pros: Shirt-pocket small, light weight, solid metal feel, wide-angle zoom lens, f2.8, optical stabilization (in addition to optional digital stabilization), absolutely sweet OLED screen, optional fully manual controls for the photog in me, optional automatic controls for the pull-it-out-of-my-pocket-and-shoot photog in me, long battery life, quick startup, "drive' mode for ~1 frame per second bursts, surprisingly useful flash, excellent color and contrast quality, really sharp lens, 2000 x 3000 pixel images for magazine pub quality, quick response to shutter button, very good 720p video and audio with zooming possible during shooting video), plenty-good-enough-for-me 5x optical zoom, little/no spherical aberration at full wide angle (for architectural shots), decent low light usefulness (but not a D3, for sure), and so on.

Biggest Pro: Due to Samsung's announced TL-350 replacement model, dealers are selling these at cost.

Cons: Very Low light is a bit noisy, similar to others of this genre.

Bottom line: Do not think I could be happier with this purchase. At <$200, you'll have to pay twice as much for a Nikon or Canon with equivalent features. Highly recommended.

TL320 vs Panasonic DMC-ZS3

I spent many days researching compact digitals online before choosing the TL320 and the Panasonic DMC-ZS3. I am not a pro photog but am very particular about my photos. I have used a Casio Exilm EX-P700 for many years and it is, or was an excellent camera that always got it right, until recently it will only focus indoors about 30% of the time. My hope was to find something as good. The TL320 is built exceptionally well, menu system is a breeze, the Amoled screen is unbelievable, strong flash. The smart mode produces perfectly exposed and saturated, very sharp photos as long as it has good light. Anything outside well into dusk has been excellent. Bring it in the house with artificial light and the ISO jumps to 400 producing, in my opinion useless pictures. However switching it to Program mode and setting ISO to 200, contrast 0 ,sharpness 2,and saturation 2 almost always is just superb. ISO on auto almost never jumps above 200 unless real dark in P mode. I have tried every combination of all settings and this is what works best. Flash intensity and EV can be altered to taste and are very responsive, but it seems best as default in all but mentioned. Upping the contrast to 1 will really define things but you need good light or details in the darker areas are less evident. All in all , I just Love this camera and have yet to see any printed (4x6) pictures from any camera rival it. Got the Panasonic at the same time to see what I liked best. The Panny was the only camera that I found to ever get 5 stars in a pro review, and the customer reviews mostly glowed with praise. Panasonic build quality is way below the TL. Feels cheap, very few controls, screen is ok, but not close to the TL. Flash is completely useless. Anything in limited light at all is just junk. No controls to make it work. I put it on a tripod in my living room at night with 2 table lamps in the room and stood the length of my coffee table from the camera and I could hardly tell it was me! Did the same with the TL and I could count the hairs in my mustache. Outside in good light it does a good job, but identical pictures from both camera's enlarged on my pc showed the TL to have better detail. The battery life on the Panny is pathetic. The TL is possibly 3 times better. In summary, I don't know how the DMC-ZS3 gets such great reviews and the TL320 worse and much fewer. Maybe people aren't taking Samsung seriously and just not buying, and the pro reviewers seem somewhat biased. Long and short of it, the Panny went back and the TL stayed. Would I recommend this camera? ABSOLUTELY!!

Awesome Wide Angle Camera for Realtors

This camera is absolutely perfect for a Realtor who doesn't want to get into the big heavy body camera to get the wide angle shots. Truthfully, I figured it would go back because everything I had read said it was impossible to have a 24mm in a compact camera. In fact, when I was looking, this is the one of the few I could even find. I wish I could put side by side pictures in this review-if you Google "Perfect Wide Angle Compact Camera for Realtors-Samsung TL320" you can read the blog I wrote complete with pictures. I LOVE this camera!!!

Question : Can anyone tell me about the Samsung L200 digital camera?
It looks like a great camera for the price ($150). 10.2 MP, 2.5 inch LCD, but only 3x optical zoom. Anyone have one? Are you happy with it? And what is the reputation of Samsung cameras in general? Thanks.

Answer:
It uses a lithium ion battery, which is good. It's got optical image stabilization, which is good. It looks good for the price.

Question : Help! My Samsung digital camera won't open its shutter or turn on. I tried to recharge battery but not work!?
I have a Samsung SL202 intelligent LCD digital camera which I love. Few days back I got a low battery message then it shut down. I used my USB cable to recharge the Li-ion battery, but it is not recharging. I have taken the battery out and put it back in, jiggled the chords, etc. What am I missing???? I am quite frustrated. Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated.

Answer:
Maybe the battery is done for. Batteries don't have eternal life nor can sleep for eaons. No they are chemical little storage cans that will lose their ability to hold energy slowly. After harsh use or a certain time, a few years that is, the rechargable battery is unable to hold charge. So what to do? Buy a new battery, available on your online and local photo stores :)Remember batteries are chemical waste!

Question : Is samsung digital camera a good buy? Meaning the quality and durabilty?
I am plannig to buy a digicam, I have seen a samsung one. Is this ok?? All I want is a camera who can give me good pictures and is durable. Thanksgropetti- really? Question : How do I fix my samsung digital camera?
The camera is a type where the lens come up when you turn it on. The lens came out but the battery died and the lens stayed put. Is there anything i can do to fix it without bringing it to a samsung center?

Answer:

Question : Did anyone else buy the Samsung D53 digital camera at Walmart? How does Samsung compare with Polaroid?
This must have been a Walmart exclusive because it's not listed on the Samsung web site as a model. Does anyone know how this camera would compare with the Polaroid A700 which was on sale at Kmart? Any opinions on who might make the best inexpense digital camera--Samsung or Polaroid? I do know that the Samsung is very confusing to use out of the box. There are many features but a steep learning curve on figuring out how to use them.

Answer:
Neither.I don't know how much retailers are advertising these for, but if Canon, Olympus, Fuji or Kodak had one within $100, I would opt for one of those and consider it money well spent.I use a Samsung digicam at work for taking passport photos and it is completely unimpressive. Polaroid spent a lot of time in bankruptcy, and is behind on the digital curve.Good luck in finding the right camera.BTW, if you are switching from a film camera, ALL digicams have a steep learning curve!

Question : What is the indication that my samsung digital camera is charged ?
what is the indication that my samsung digital camera is charged ?

Answer:
It depends on your camera. But usually there's a bar - similar to those on cell phones - that show how full the battery is. That bar gets shorter as the battery drains. Always good to keep the battery charged by the time it gets to the 1/2-1/3 mark in case a great shooting oppty comes up and you don't have a couple hours to charge.I always carry a spare charged battery (and extra memory cd) with me too...

Question : how long do samsung digital camera batteries last?
i just bought a samsung digital camera today at circuit city, and just after a while its battery power became very low. i tried to change batteries, but the other ones don't work. i keep trying to figure out how the battery became so low when i just bought it today! and sometimes when i was taking pictures to test it out, it would just shut off or turn on itself. does anyone know why?

Answer:
When you buy a new camera, mobile phone or something like that, you have to charge it for 4-5 hours. Then you must use it.There are different batteries. "AAA" or "AA" and so on. The little one is "AAA". pay attention to it.And try to use rechargebale batteries. Yeah, they are more expensive than others, but it will last nearly 2-3 year. (you have to give it energy day-by-day)And dont forget, if there appears any problem, You may contact to "shop sale or technic manager".

Question : Samsung Digital Camera with 2 screens one in the front one on the back?
I was watching tv today and I saw the new digital camera by Samsung but I did not catch the name it has two different screens on the front and back. Anyone knows the name of this camera?

Answer:
Samsung ST550 (TL225)http://www.samsungcamera.com/product/pro_view.asp?prol_uid=4666&step1=2&step2=2Samsung ST500 (TL220)http://www.samsungcamera.com/product/pro_view.asp?prol_uid=4668&step1=2&step2=2

Question : Samsung digital camera, what am I doing wrong?
I just bought a samsung ES55 digital camera and I can only seem to store 19 pictures on the actual camera. I don't have a memory card in it but can buy and put one in if needs be. I have reduced the quality of the pics I am taking and put everything that could take up memory to the lowest possible setting. Is this normal because I can't believe for an £80 camera you would only store 19 pics???? Does this mean a memory card is essential for use?

Answer:
You're not doing anything wrong. The internal memory is very small.Yes you'll want / need a memory card. It will store far more than the internal.By the way, read your owner's manual to learn what size and style of card you need and your camera will support before you go buy.
