Best Ever!

I love this camera! I have had many cameras in my life, but this one by far is the best! My son who is 4 and my nephew 1, love the clown! I have taken video with it and it is in HD! I would highly recommend to everyone to buy this camera!

Bought this camera for my 13 yr old Daughter. We all love it. Used it for Christmas so far. The accessory kit was awesome. Saved a ton of cash on that alone. Best Buy couldn't even match the price w/ the kit. They did try though! Heard the battery doesn't last very long. worked fine until i had it 4 6mos then broke

Camera worked fine until i had it for 6 months. We were on a trip 2 Vegas & we were taking pics & then all the sudden it stopped working. The picture viewer just shows colored lines up & down, makes a lot of weird noises & all the pics come out looking as I described the view finder. =(

This camera is great. I bought this for my grandparents, who arent technology smart, and they love it. They're still trying to figure out all the options on the camera, but they understood quickly how to take the picture and review it on the screen. This camera is worth buying. In fact my mother bought one too!

Do NOT buy this camera

Purchased this camera while on holiday in New York. Came back to UK to find that it's basically a dud. The buffer time is so long (regardless of settings) that all I get is blurred pictures as kids run out of frame or terrible pained expressions on subjects' faces. A lot of the crucial buttons jam (delete, play and the main shutter button) and the camera regularly switches itself off. Within a couple of months the LCD display developed screen bleed so I can't take a picture without trying to squint through black patches. I contacted Samsung and it will only cover repairs for button issues, not the screen and will not replace the camera despite being in warranty. Most unhelpful.
Who knows if my particular camera was a lemon but if you're considering buying this camera, I wouldn't risk it. Go for a company with a history of camera expertise.

A good entry level camera

Pros: Very good for it's price. Quite good battery life, wakes up very fast, after taking picture you can take another in very short time as well. 12MP is alot.
Cons: It is entry level do not expect very much from it. Matrix is small and quite noisy. Sometimes it cannot focus when it is a bit dark. you sometimes get blurry pictures especially visible when you zoom in. I think everything is acceptable for its price. If you want something better you should buy something expensive, much more expensive in fact.

It was nice. I'd go into detail, but I'm a busy man takin' mah photos and moving along. Anywho, yea, its a good camera. ONE SIDE NOTE!!!! When taking video, you CANNOT record sound while zooming. Took me a while to figure that one out...

Almost complete kit...

This is a wonderful camera and a decent starter kit for the beginner digital photographer.

Pros: Nearly everything you need for this camera is included

Cons: Supplied SD card reader will not slot MicroSD card supplied with kit, and no "MicroSD to SD" adapter provided. (You can still access your digital pictures directly from the camera via the supplied charging/interface USB cable.)

I have had this camera for 5 months and i love it. My daughter is a hamm. She loves to pose for the camera. This dual view is perfect when she is in a picture with one of her more camera shy cousins they all make funny faces to see in the front screen. Handy

This camera is a handy size and versatile. I carry it in my purse all of the time. I love that I can hook it up to any computer-don't have to download software first. I also love that I can hook it up to my T.V.; and the camera's screen is fairly big, too.

I should note that the AV cable does not come with the camera. You can purchase it separately at Best Buy for around $20 (approx. 6 ft. long)or you can purchase a much shorter cable thru Samsung. Samsung charged roughly $9 for shipping and handling, coming to roughly $20 for the cable with S & H.

You can edit your pictures on the camera. I believe you can also use the camera as a camcorder.

This is my first digital camera. Consumer Reports (January 2010?) recommended it, among others. Not all of the cameras they recommended have an AV port to connect it to a T.V.

I paid less for this camera purchased thru Amazon than what it costs at Wal-Mart.

Great Camera

For the price, this is a great camera! In fact, it's so good, I just had my second one stolen, within a year!! So, don't set it down anywhere!

Seriously, this is a very good quality camera with many different features. My best advise is to buy an 8MB card with it. That way you can take a ton of pictures with no hassles. I've also shot some short videos with it. Nothing of a pro quality, the sound isn't great but, it's still fun.

I highly recommend this camera, great price, great pictures, great features, very good lens and all about the size of a cigarette pack!

Sure cannot expect much from a camera less than 100$. The pictures taken without zoom are good enough. Slightly washed out due to flash in areas near the camera, so gives slightly uneven colors and brightness. But pictures are bright enough with the flash, unlike some other cheap cameras which give pretty much unusable pictures with flash.
The problem is when you zoom-in. The pictures look as if taken through a cloud, it looks surreal :) The objects are not sharp, so it looks like they have an aura or halo around them. If I could attach a picture I would have shown.

Warranty and mfg quality is garbage

I purchased the camera in December 2009, and in February 2010 part of the battery cover fell off (the metallic part matching the black exterior of the camera; the springloaded arm that causes the door to open is still attached and functional). I sent it to Samsung for a warranty repair and I was told that the product has "physical damage" so it is not under warranty. Apparently if a piece is not properly attached and falls off such that the camera is no in one piece, it is "physical damage" is not under warranty. The repair cost was $69.95 to put back on the battery door of a 2 month old $85 camera. Needless to say, I will not buy a Samsung camera again. (While it was usable, the picture quality was good.)
